I’d like to see an episode bridging the events of “Legacy” with those of “Omens.” Presumably Leo, Panthera and Tygus survived the crash of the ark that later became Mumm-Ra’s habitat. But somehow the cats went from space-faring owners of all these magic stones and leaders of the animal rebellion, to castle-squatting oligarchs with one stone and a very limited outlook on Third Earth.
There are many unanswered questions. Fourteen episodes in, we still don’t know much about our characters or what makes them tick. From what we have seen thus far of Cheetara and Tygra’s characters, I sense there was a feline civil war at one point that left both orphaned, and this event weighs heavily on their relationship with Lion-O.
I harbor a suspicion that the upcoming episode “Native Son” deals with this issue, so maybe this particular wish will be moot.
I would like to see Lion-O, eventually, get a little physically bigger, hence signifying a significant state in his maturity. As big as Panthro? No, ofcourse not. As big as He-Man in 2002 series? No, maybe not as much, but just a “little more” amped up from his current state, so he can look a little more imposing being the Lord of The Thundrcats.
Lovin’ it. I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing him grow his hair out a bit more, not as much as Claudus or Leo, but enough to where he starts to look a little bit like his shaggier 80’s counterpart. Maybe some chin scruff too.
…oh, right, the hair(or mane)!! Yeah, it should start at some point to be close to, if not Claudus, then something close to how Jim Lee drew in the Wildstorm comics(loved the Wolverine-type sideburns). Also, there’s the matter of height. Have him eventually grow at least enough to be clearly taller than Cheetarah.
I hate to sound like a 90’s PR exec, but I’d like to see 1) some diversity in the main cast. Lion-O is supposed to unite the animals against Mum Ra, maybe have one or two non cats hang out with you (just noticed, Slythe is better at this than Lion-O lol). But it could get crowded so:
kill off a major OS character. You want to fight a war, there’s a price to pay. This would really shake things up and fans would grip their seats every battle knowing how high the stakes are. It’s a cartoon, they can always show up later. This was even teased in the pilot with the ‘Panthro is dead’ subterfuge.
don’t get bogged down in OS references. We all liked the OS. This isn’t it. I wouldn’t have liked Star Trek: The Next Generation if every episode forced a mention of Kirk in it. TNG ended up being the strongest entrance into the Trek franchise. But we were still rewarded with the odd cameo or reference. I hope the writers/produces of the current show don’t feel pressured or are otherwise compromising good story telling to placate adult fans of the old show.
keep up the awesome! I am loving the episodes that explore politics and morality. It’s pretty easy, maybe even lazy, to have heroic characters that stand up to despicable obvious evil. In this show, we’re given the motivations of the villains which sometimes we (and our hero) can feel sympathy for. Our heroes are flawed. And sometimes the hardest stand to take is against your friends who can’t be bothered to do the right thing. I hope they sell a lot of action figures, because I’d hate to see good storytelling get canned for stupid financial reasons, the fate of too many great shows.

I guess at least with Mumm-Ra I want to see more about his motivations and how he ended up serving the Ancient Spirits of Evil. An Origin story for Mumm-Ra could go someway to answering a lot of questions about him and how the cats and mutants etc ended up serving him. Also it would be good to see the Ancient Spirits of Evil making an apperance, rather than Mumm-Ra invoking his everliving form. I tend to think Jaga represents the Ancients Spirits of Good (they need a snazzier name) in a spiritual form, and that’s what’s needed for the Ancient Spirits of Evil. Crack the whip at Mumm-Ra for his failures.
They did that in the OS remember? And I don’t think it worked that well tbh. I think it just served to weaken them both. The spirits work best as a mystery I think. Saying that a bit of mumm ras history would be cool.
When mumm-ra is doing his body tranformation incantation, there is no showing of the spirits of evil statues. Biggest disappointment compared to the original series imo.
I am in total agreement that something must be done about Mummra…So far he is pretty 1dimesional as a character…even the emperor in star wars had more of a back story than mummra…To be honest i’m tempted to just fast forward the mummra parts ..and get back to the cats, since their stories seem to be a lot more interesting at the moment. Villians like Zuko, Xanatos were characters that you loved to watch…because they we interesting, smart villians with depth.
I know, but they can do something different with the Ancient Spirits of Evil this time around. What we have yet to find out is -
Mumm-Ra’s background - Who is he ? Does not have to fill in all the details but some some would be nice.
His exact reasons for wanting the stones of power, other than the fact it makes him super awesomely eviltastically powerful.
How he came to either use the Ancient Spirits Of Evil or how he started serving them.
That would fill us in his motivations and give him some much needed character development.
The trouble with the OS was the Ancient Spirits of evil were “NOOOOOO Do as we say” and Mumm-Ra was “I’ll do want I want when I want”. I just want some subtle influences from the Ancient Spirits of Evil, not just being inanimate statues and invoked when Mumm-Ra needs to power up.
I think Mumm-Ra did as he pleased in the OS, as long he got the job done. Which he must have done before the Thundercats showed up. Then the Ancient Spirits of Evil got a bit annoyed by his failures. That’s how I view it.
Either Mumm-Ra using the Ancient Spirits of Evil for his own ends or serving them would be fine by me.
As for the Ancient Spirits of Evil if they do have any manifest apperances then I think it would be fun to have Jaga face them down. It would give his character a bit more to do, than merely being Lion-O’s spirit guide.
In the old show though Mum-Ra had to be within his pyramid and in the presence of their statues to transform and it was stated that they were his masters and without them he has no power.
Here he can do it wherever he wants and whenever he wants (provided he remembers his sunscreen, I guess). If he keeps decreasing in power every time he comes in contact with the Sword though they may get fed up with serving him and decide to overthrow him.
Well; I’d like the series to last for more than 2/3/4 seasons. I want to see more characters from the OS: I want Berserker and I want to see The Stinger :eek: I want Warrior Maidens, Snowmen and Tuskas. And ofcourse BenGali, Pumyra etc. And I want to see more of Lion-O’s mother and how Tygra got to be the adopted son of the Lord of the ThunderCats! I want to know everything, no stone unturned. Ah heck… would be cool though…
absolutely!!! LionO’s mother is a mystery in the thundercats series…I think it would really set the NS apart from the OS by including her story into the saga some how…I’d like to see her characters presence play an important role in the character development / story arcs of both Tygra and Lion O. Aside from their mysterious absence of their mother…I would like to see more flashbacks of their father Claudius.
I would love to see there be a connection between Tygra and Bengali…hopefully in Native Son we will have a better understanding of Tygra’s origins.
Also Cheetara’s past is a bit of a mystery. She mentions to Jaga that she has no clan.. Is this true? or is she hiding something from her past that she’s not to proud of…and if she is ..will it affect her future with Tygra???
And what of Kat and Kit? Its seems that while Kit’s character seems to be changed by their adventures… Kat is still keeping his eye on their inital quest of finding treasure. Will the kittens part ways? Or will they start to grow in to their own.
Also when will Snarf die already?! lol
And what about Panthro?? He holds alot of memories of the past..when Claudius was king and when the princes were cubs. Does he know more? Will he serve as a thunderean historean of sorts? Or the mentor/ father figure for the cats…I just don’t want to see Panthro be stuck as the comic relief all the time.

more background history…mummra, where does he come from? is he an alien, and old devil priest? a scientist? an ancient thundercat??
more of the old show characters integrated…lunatacs, berserkers, mongor, hachiman ( i thought the duelist and the drifter was a perfect episode for hachiman ), safari joe, etc…i love the way the integrated the driller.
more of the old show vehicles, sky cutters, maybe a castle plundarr or fistpounder
more thundercat history, so far theyve only touched on how the cats freed themselves and the creation of the sword of omens…so far thats been the best episode for me
