He transformed to Mumm-Ra the Everliving in ThunderCats, Ho!: The Movie also.
Yeah agreed he has been rather underwhelming. On the flip side the re-introduction of Jackalman and Monkian was a pretty good success, they are much scarier than in the original. Maybe mumm-ra will get some kind of power boost along the way (through the ancient spirits of evil maybe).
As for my personal preferences, there are some characters I wouldn’t mind if they skip them because I always found them rather lame, like that pirate villain. But those I would like to see:
- lunatacks: my favorite villains, altho it doesn’t look like they will ever show up unless the show gets more viewers and more seasons.
- Mandora: the original show got pretty entertaining when she showed up, but I believe I read somewhere she was confirmed to not be in the 2011 version, :sadface:
As for the plot, they seem to be changing quite a few things, like the added romance, and the different back-stories of many characters. As long as they keep surprising me and keep it fresh I’ll be happy.
Wintergt, Funnily enough, lunataks and mandora are two of the people I WOULDN’T like to see return, I agree about captain cracker though. They would just take away too much from the new mythology that is being spun.
The berserkers could add a lot though, if they were done right. Ie a lot more menacing and berserk, and less dodgy gimmicks and corny than the OS. As could the warrior maidens.
I’d like to see Mandora show up again, not as an intergalactic cop, but more of a bounty hunter. She could be hired by Mumm-Ra or Slithe to hunt down the Cats before switching sides and fighting alongside them. Maybe this time we’d finally get to see what’s under that helmet of hers.
I want Lynxana, a character from the '80s ThunderCats comics, to be on the 2011 show.
I want a new and original cat to be seen. Fun to see if they can create their own Thundercat for the 2011 series.

I can understand the lunatacks, but mandora, really? She was pretty cool in how she was not a baddie, but also was not interested in teaming up with the thundercats, she just wanted to do her job. She’d be great in the NS!

Agreed on both. And maybe one of the warrior maidens (I’m pretty sure we will see them, either in this season or the next) can be a love interest for lion-o. If they can mingle with humans that is.
Stop with the love interests for lionO already! I swear this is the reason boys and girls cartoons were very distinct in the 80s! There are other ways to explore new characters!
I was never really that impressed with mandora either, and I don’t really see a place for her in the NS. I mean apart from the flashback episode where mumm ra obviously had his ship and all the tech from another world/planet, the action and the mythos has been limited planetside, and to be honest I think that has made it better.

There have been a few original minor characters already, or do you mean a whole new badged up thundercat? If so I wouldn’t like to see that. I do like the richness of all the minor characters stacking up though, I mean there will be a fair few from this tiger clan in todays episode I’m imagining!
I actually agree with you on the love interest thing, but they’ve already added it to the show for Tygra, so they will probably introduce someone for lion-o too somewhere down the line.
Not necessarily. I certainly wouldn’t like to see them go down that route. The tygra/cheetara thing was more than likely a one off shock effect plot device. I’m hoping anyway. I want to see a lot more action and adventure, more genuine danger and threat from mumm ra and liono beginning to reunite the thunderians and rebuilding thundera as he unites the disparate kingdom against mumm ra.
I want them to create their own new THUNDERCAT, there is not many ways you can take that wrong (if any).
I also agree about the love interest, why does everyone think lion-o needs one? There are lots of other ways to develop a character and as i´ve said numerous times: Let Tygra and Cheetara be this series LOVE DUO, and let lion-o focus on becoming a king, gather allies, fight mumm-ra and win the war.
Claudus had a queen. There’s no reason Lion-O shouldn’t have one as well at some point. That’s all I will say.
Claudus had a queen indeed. There´s are lots of reason he should not have a queen. He has lots of things to do, not like he really has time for all that.
At some point yes he will get one, but not during “the war”. What will happen is he is gonna lay energy on her which could be spent uniting the races and beating mumm-ra, what probably also will happen is that his love will get kidnapped (cause it’s his love ofc) and he will have to forfiet the sword of omens if lion-o wants her to live blablablabla.
