All in “The Fireballs of Castle Plundarr” (I think that was the title), after Lion-O and Willa came to Tygra’s rescue and the Thundertank shot the cable into the room they were in to give them a way to escape, one of them would have to stay behind longer putting their lives in great danger to finish the mission. Tygra said he should stay behind and Lion-O let him. Another bode of confidence and respect Lion-O showed for Tygra.
That’s a nice way to try and think about it. But considering how many times they left the kittens behind to guard the lair, I’m not so sure about that.
Since they had established peace on Third Earth and they were returning home to Thundera (I never really understood how a planet could reform), they should have abandoned Cats Lair and all of them should have headed home. If nothing else, they could have given Cats Lair over to the Warrior Maidens. Their people could have still lived in the Tree Top Kingdom, but stationed people in shifts at Cats Lair and could have been charge of it being a place of safety for all peaceful beings to come if they had need. Just a thought.

Did Pumyra stay behind as well? Maybe there was more going on between Tygra and Pumyra than we were made aware of. :eek:
I agree in that they all should have gone back to New Thundera, and yes , Pumyra was left behind as well.
I was about to bring that part of “Fireballs of Castle Plun-Darr” myself, but got lazy lol. Not only Lion-O showed respect and confidence towards Tygra, but he (Tygra) showed again integrity and responsability, as he told Lion-O “this was my mission” when Lion-O said he (Lion-O) was the one who would stay.
Ok, so my theory is that the reason Tygra stayed behind is that he and Pumyra had a relationship going on and they both volunteered to stay behind. :eek::tygra::pumyraveryhappy:
You never know, I seem to have less arguments and more ease in long distance relationships like my current one than when I have someone in my space too much.
Things on Third Earth were peaceful. There was really no need for a ThunderCats presence to remain on the planet. Having just one ThunderCat at each location is extremely low security because they’d not be watching things for 8 hours each night when they slept and they weren’t prisoners, they’d venture out to get fresh air, to socialize with friends, etc… I would imagine they had security set up that they would be notified if something was wrong and they had to head back.
So consequently, no reason the two of them couldn’t get over the loneliness by spending time together.
a) Tygra stayed in the Tower of Omens (which was ilogical as it was destroyed in “The Last Day”) and Pumyra in Cats Lair… which is silly as Pumyra used to live in the Tower and Tygra in the Lair, they shoud ghave stayed in their hiome places.
b) Tygra had already a relationship with Cheetara (yes, he had one, don’t tell me different lol)

I think my point has been missed with your first point. Regardless of which location they were responsible for guarding, they didn’t have to stay there 24-7, isolated and alone. I’m sure they could sneak away for a little while to spend some time together. Ooh la la!
With your second point, ah, perhaps, but I think that had ended by the time the show began.
Some of the artwork was really good, some of the SL’s were alright, but overall I got a ‘Meh’ feeling about them, and was just giddy to see my favorite cartoon reborn for new geeks to enjoy.
I never really understood the Tygra/Cheetara pairing. She seems too much like a free spirit and him too much of a nerd (Not that there is anything wrong with that…) But it never made sense to me.
They say opposites attract. If I ever thought to pair ThunderCats together, Tygra and Cheetara would be one and Bengali and Pumyra the other, based on their personalities and interaction on the show.
I think it came from the fact that They two spent a lot of time and scenes together. Also, maybe being that different was precisely what attracted one to the other: Cheetara, ebing a free spirit, gave Tygra the spontaniety he lacked of, and Tygra helped Cheetara to keep ehr feet in the ground.
I did like the idea of them becoming a couple. I have a thoery regarding this:
I think fans wanted Lion-O to be with Cheetara, but as so many people had the idea of a thing going on with Tygra, they introduced Pumyra as a love for Lion-O. But Pumyra turned out to be a weak character, so I think the fact that they almost wrote off Tygra of the whole series was because iot was the only way for Lion-O to be with Cheetara: getting rid of Tygra.
It sounded like Tygra and Cheetara knew each other pretty well before Exodus, and later on when her sixth sense started coming into play he already knew it would take a toll on her and she would need recovery time.
I thought every1 knew that Wilykit and Kat were Tygra and Cheetarah’s cubs…thats why they weren’t a defined breed because of the tiger and cheetah mix!

I don’t like how white Tygra’s face is in the new series. It’s too white. Since when to orange tigers have white faces? Even a more fleshy color I think would be better than white.
