Thundercats UK comic thread! [ISSUE 11 TO BE FINAL ISSUE!]

The toys are a necessary evil. In my day a free gift was occasional, but now they all do it and kids often choose the comic for the toy. Mine went straight in the bin.

As for the comic. The comic page count is good and the art is good. Compared to other tie ins it’s a nice surprise. The GI Joe RoC one was worse and didn’t get past issue 6 (normally there’s a minimum run so the comic usually goes to say 6 issues minimum, though they can get pulled earlier). So if it’s still here at Xmas it’ll be doing better than the Joes.

Agreed its a necessary evil, I’d rather not have them but will put up with them if it means we get the comic!

I’m surprised to hear some of you guys have had trouble finding it. I got mine from WHSmiths and have also seen it in Asda.

I also wish UK comics didn’t come with the ‘Free’ gifts, but I do realize comics in the UK are aimed at a much younger age then in the US. I also get the UK Star Wars comic and used to get the UK 200x MOTU comic and all the ‘free’ gifts just make storage a nightmare. #2 of Thundercats is coming with a bow and arrow for crying out loud

Stop ya moaning or I’ll come and shoot you with it :stuck_out_tongue: Honestly I could live without the toys/gifts, but as a kid I loved the free stuff, so…

In regards to finding the magazine, to be honest I was a bit lazy and only looked in supermarkets for it (ASDA being one of them) I went into a local newsagents and found one single copy on the shelf (I should have gone to a newsagent from the get go really  )

I do hope that Panini’s ThunderCats Magazine will keep selling well.

There’s no indication that it won’t. On the plus side there will always be an endless supply of stressed mums trying to shut their tantrum throwing brats up with bribes of comics and sweets! Haha!

I couldn’t find issue 4 in Asda this time so had to get it from WHSmiths.
I’m enjoying the comic and think both the art and stories are good but I just wish it was more comic and less filler. Would also be nice to have a longer continuing story over several issues instead of the short stand alone stories.

I just get mine from my local McColls now. They seem to always have it and it’s the closest decent newsagents near me within walking distance  I need to get the news of the issue 4 release up on the front page still…

Picked up issue 5 last week. Really enjoyed the story this month probably my favourite one so far.

Yep I got issue 5 too. I still need to open them up and read them! In hindsight I should have done this during all the awful weather we’ve had.

Got issue 6 on Fri. Really enjoyed this issue again and what did I ask for a few posts back, a longer story, well I’m pleased to see this months story is a two parter concluded next moth :liono

Strange that the villagers are human as I don’t think we’ve seen any humas in this new Thundercats yet.

I loved the bear designs of the beasts :liono

I also got issue 6 on friday. I don’t like the fact that they are now sellotaping the free gift to front of the magazine though…:frowning: I wonder if it’s to cut down on production costs slightly?

Really? I’ve imported the first 5 myself and due to get issue 6 anyday now. Really wish people here in the US could get this officially too. Could you show a picture of this too? Been trying to figure out a good way to display the toys too. I think there may be variants of the toys too. Because I know a picture of one of the issues I got on ebay the toy was a different color.

And the different colored Wrist Blaster:

Got Issue 7 today, really pleased were back to the plastic bag cover, brilliant read with my son whos hooked!

Tyger flyer and claudus bought from bandais site arrived, sweet figures!

I wish that all Panini’s “ThunderCats 2011” comic stories would be collected into a trade paperback.

Got issue 7 on fri, good conclusion to the two-parter, like I said last time I really like the bear people.

Hopefully they will once the series if finished.

Are the Panini ThunderCats magazines in comic book stores in the US?

They’re only in the UK.

Bad news on the UK comic. I just found this:
*HeroKenFlatt Aug 26, 2012 Is the comic still going?
*Kat-Nicholson Aug 27, 2012 Yes, but only for about another 2 issues.. then the mag will run without one til the end of the year http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/frown.gif

in the comments here:

I do hope that the comics will be republished as a single paperback.
