We all have been for awhile.
While we’re throwing out ideas for episodes: The original series episode “Mongor” had an awesome premise, a guy who eats people’s fear to grow stronger. Unfortunatly the end result was a little lacking. I propose we bring this guy back but make him a Freddy Krueger type spirit. He invades peoples minds and makes their worst fears a reality, then grows stronger the more afraid his victims get. We can delve into the pysche of each individual thundercat and we can have them face their worst fear. ie. Wilykat’s worst fear is losing Wilykit, and vice-verca.
We should also work Spidera in there somehow. Since she was shown before it would seem a shame to end the series without having a proper fight with her.
It might be easier to use ThunderCatsLairChat for right now.
One thing I’ve been pondering is should we start spreading the word about our fan comic? We might end up getting more people’s input if we did, and I want all the fans to know that the story will continue in some form.
Also, I know that HeMan has volunteered to be our artist, but I’m still a little worried about the possible work load he might have once things get started. I may start asking around to see if other artists might consider coming on to do some issues in case HeMan ends up having a busy schedule or gets too stressed. Even if they don’t do the actual issues, we can get other fan artists to do the covers. I assume we’ll have covers like real comics.
I like your art style HeMan, and I do want you on this. Would it be alright if you showed us more of your work, maybe some more character designs, showing the whole bodies? Your one sketch looks good, but it would be nice to see some more of what you can do.

I like that. Maybe Mongor starts out just small and creepy, but s he grows stronger he doesn’t just get bigger but more monstrous, with more hair, longer horns, etc. Maybe when he goes into Panthro’s mind we’ll find out that Panthro’s afraid of Spidera even more than heights or swimming, and then a while later he’ll have the chance to finally overcome that fear and face her again.

I agree Gold Lion and I’d like to see a few OC’s as well. For example, how would HeMan show my avatar as a Shadris trainee? I’d also like to see him do Rissa, who is a shy female Lizard.

I have idea for the first issue.
The first issue sets after What Lies Above pt. 2 where, in the first seven pages, Mumm-Ra starts narrating on how, after he obtain the Tech Stone, his forces grew stronger with the monkeys and the jackals, who are like Addicus and Kaynar, joining his ranks. After page 7, the scene changes to the ThunderCats finally getting Avista City mobile again, the Wilys returning their friends to their homes, and our heroes returning to the Thundera settlement to check up on what’s been occurring. When arriving, they see more cats returning to their fallen city and had been helping with the reconstruction. They meet Lynx-O who had survived Thundera’s fall and had been leading the cats in Lion-O’s absence. The ThunderCats then leave Thundera and continue their adventure but as soon as they leave Thundera, traveling 10-miles-away, the Thundertank is soon attacked by Muum-Ra’s forces. then it cuts to a “to be continued.”
Okay, I just remembered something we need to adress, the Thundertank. Lst we saw it, the Soul Sever’s robots destroyed it. They made the Feliner after that, but we can’t just have the Cats fly everywhere. That would make their quest too easy.
So here’s what I think we should do. The Feliner works, but it either uses up too much thundrilium that they just don’t have at the moment, or some parts broke when Avista crashed. So, the Berbils help rebuild the Thundertank before dealing with the Feliner. Maybe someone can come in and rescue the Cats with a newly repaired Feliner at a later point, or something. I’m thinking that it should be the fuel source thats the problem, because I just can’t see a broken part being a problem if the Berbils can fix up the tank quickly enough. I suppose they could leave the Feliner with the refugees in case they need it to help rebuild their city. The only other thing I can think of is that there’s some kind of obstacle keeping them from using the Feliner, like strong winds or some giant flying creature that tries to attack them. This may be one of those problems where we’ll have to wait for more info on.

Had another idea. I thought of creating an OC who is a young monkey girl that gets a crush on Wily Kat. In my head she looks kind of like SonSon from Marvel vs. Capcom 2: http://marvelvscapcom.wikia.com/wiki/SonSon_III

For my lizard rebellion arc, I was thinking that the three Lizard commandos from Song of the Petalars would come back, possibly now turned against Slithe for having almost burned them alive while in the thicket. I also think we should think of more lizard designs like those three, and some with more coloration than just green. Maybe one really old frilled lizard whose frill looks like a beard, and maybe even ones based on turtles or snakes.
If we’re going to bring back Spidera I think it would be more effective if she gave Panthro one of his scars last time they met. Or possibly been the reason he lost his tail. Based on the Grune/Panthro flashbacks in “Old Friends” and the one where Grune stabbed Spidera with his tooth, what could we use that wouldn’t contradict what we’ve already seen?

My idea with Kaynar’s rebellion works really well with my Pumyra arc. I pretty much have Pumyra’s story until whatever happens at the end planned out.
Hm…some lizards and reptiles are grey, brown, rusty red, rusty orange, beige/brown. Google “colorful lizards” or “colorful reptiles.” What if the skin changes one or two colors depending on their mood? Snakes I think would be like the local monsters that they would throw prisoners or traitors into their pit feed it, or into a pin or jungle. Oh! What about if we would introduce Safari Joe?
Fun fact: Basil is based on the basilisk lizard.
It looks like Panthro was still in his younger days when he and Grune found Spidera, so any scars or injuries could work. If we want an important one, it could be the one over his eye. I think that’s more likely than, say, Spidera biting Panthro’s tail off. I think he would have lost his tail in battle by it getting cut off by a sword or something.
It may be a good idea to make some sort of map of the continent this takes place on. I have a rough idea myself. The first 13 episodes seem to take place primarily in forested areas, while the last 13 take place mostly in dry, dessert areas. I think Thundera was situated in the plains, where it’s good for growing food. Somewhere between the desserts and the forests is a mountain range, which I believe could connect to the jungle mountains where the monkeys and birds live. The huge cliff Lion-O fell from is part of that mountain range, and there was a river that was said to flow into the ocean. The sand sea where the fish men live probably is fairly close to Mumm-Ra’s pyramid.

Those all sound good. I was thinking that some would have colorful stripes and patterns.
I was thinking that the Conquedor would serve s a substitute for Safari Joe, because I think he fits the tone one the series better. However, if we do introduce Safari Joe we should make him an alien instead of human.
Also, I had an idea for combining Snow Man with Hachiman into one character. Hachiman by himself doesn’t fit, but I thought he was a good character and had some depth, and he shares a lot of similarities in personality with Snow Man already. We could make him a monkey that lives up in the snowy mountains, and he begins to trust Lion-O because Snowmeo remembers him rescuing him from the Conquedor.
Okay, that makes sense with the Safari Joe/Conquedor thing.
I have an idea for Grune’s return:
Grune makes his return from the astral plane in one peace. From there, he has obtained supernatural abilities that could rival even Mumm-Ra. He fashions two bone-shaped nunchaku out of Panthro’s real arms and channels his new abilities through them, surpassing even Panthro himself.
