(This was suggested in a different thread) Since the series is, well, we don’t really know…do you think it’d be cool if a few fans got together and made a comic book for what could possibly come next?
It would be cool. Id like to help with the story and i have a teamspeak server where people can jump in and TALK about the story rather then just typing and texting with each other.
Since I suggested the idea in the other thread, my answer would be a yes. We would need to get a good artist, and I have a couple in mind, though they would have to agree to it of course. Plus, we would need good ideas and writing.
If we were to do this, I would want it to be collaborative. I wouldn’t really trust one fan alone to come up with everything. I think we would need several people exchanging ideas and choosing a good course for the plot to follow. Aside from ideas, we would need someone who is just a good writer in general, or someone could pen scripts and have others edit and make changes.
I have seen this sort of thing done before. An artist who goes by rufftoon worked on Avatar the Last Airbender, and she made her own fan comic about Zhao, which I hear is pretty good. We may not be professionals, but it’s not out of our grasp.
There is, of course, the issue of if fans would accept the fan comic. Everyone has their own ideas of how the rest of the story should be, and there’s bound to be a conflict of ideas. For example, there’s still Lion-O/Cheetara shippers who would probably want Cheetara to break up with Tygra and get with Lion-O. I would be against that, since I feel it would undermine what happened in the show. So, if I were to be a part of the creative process, I would try my best to please fans without doing anything extreme.
Wow…do you guys know how much of a creative block I had for the past couple years ever since college graduation? With what this series did to me personally with the enthusiasm for this show’s revival…there is something that helps me find my joy and gives me a cause to have a group to work with.
But anyways, Rizefall, you might have to tell me things about how that works since my ancient mic is a piece of crap.

I would like to help with the story, but like Gold Lion mentioned, I wouldn’t do it alone. I think I have good ideas but I’d much rather have more opinions on it than just my own. I’m sure finding an artist wouldn’t be too difficult either. Believe me when I say I’m dead serious about doing this.
Hammy, we would need an actual graphic artist that has some experience in drawing comics. I’m more of an amateur artist and graphic art wasn’t offered at school.
If we’re going to do this, there are some important things to be decided, like what to do with Pumyra, or what the last stone does and is named. Not easy decisions. I think we should wait until we’ve learned some things from Cracker’s upcoming interviews.
Yeah, true. I’m sure we could find one. The writing will definitely be the easiest part.
Another thing, do you think we should just have it be an online comic? That would probably be the best choice.

I have a good idea of what could happen to Pumyra that doesn’t go too extreme and is very logical.
As said i would love to help with the story, i need a break from working on my own books that will get published soon.
Teamspeak is real easy, you just install the program, connect to an IP i will provide jump into the same “chat room” and everyone can talk and chat to each other. I think at least TALKING (and typing ofc) will make it easier to discuss the story, mostly cause it’s real time and better then forum that way.
How does that sound? If you dont want to talk then you dont have to, but some can talk and some can type.
It sounds like a good idea, but I may need to stick to typing since I regularly video chat with someone else.
I’ll be part of the advertising, if necessary.

I’ll probably stick to typing, because I only have really expensive instrument mics to use for it, and I’d prefer not to use them for something they’re not meant to be used for. But anyway, I’m up for it.

Isn’t it a bit soon? I mean this could potentially hurt a chance of a renewal. The writing staff would have to either actively avoid this or have it be imbedded in their minds which would conflict with their own vision. They’d be combating cries of plagiarism, pleasing fans and trying to come up with something different at the same time.
P.S. It is impossible to post from a Playstation 3. The only site I’ve had issues with.
I’d love for a “ThunderCats” fan comic to come true.
