In what manner of “gotten under his skin” do you mean? As in " She’s upsetting him and calling him out on his rank", or “possibly trying to use him” or “He is doing this to impress her because he likes her and she might know this” ?
I can see how she is becoming serious competition for his ear, because while yes she started off being antagonistic towards him, it was really driven out of anger and feeling betrayed under the assumption that their leader “abandoned them”. But now she has learned the truth : He’s combating Mumm-Ra for the safety of both cats and all animals. And her being upfront with her feelings and opinions and thoughts is very very good for Lion-O and very well the entire team.
Cheetara is wise and calm and very observant but really soft spoken and really keeps things reserved. Even when she revealed she was at Lion-O’s side was because Jaga asked her too. So aside from her saying that she finds him “different” what are really her views and opinions of Lion-O?
Tygra, we all know his deal and angst with Lion-O. Panthro put it best when Lion-O temporarily died with “You wanted to be king well now you are.” My quote of him may be wrong but you get the idea. Even though, yes, his brotherly love pulls through, but at his core, he wants to be king.
Even in myths, legends and even real life accounts, brothers come to dangerous extremes and possibly murder over some monetary inheritance, over women, and in some cases, power.
After the trials and Native son, Tygra seems to have eased off, and acknowledged Lion-O as his king, but there may be a resurgence of his desire to be king.
Panthro, he’s very tough and a very serious cat, and a well seasoned fighter and he is very observant and has noticed Lion-O’s potential and his growth into a leader. You see this since Panthro has been at his side more and more as his apparant Advisor and possible 2nd in command. Even Lion-O acknowledges advice Panthro has given him and tells Pumyra what he advised him when they were in the mine. Panthro even showed more concern and questioned Lion-O and Pumyra over their plan of buying them time so they can get away. Where was Tygra butting in and saying " Little bro! its too dangerous for you to go alone! Im going with you ! "
Even though Pumyra initially came off as an antagonisitic character, she has been very brutally REAL with him. There’s been no timidness on her talking to him about her passionate anger and growing acceptance of him. She even spoke to him how she likes his compassion, and touches his face.
Bottomline: Pumyra is really becoming epic, and showing a good pace of character development.
