Another solid episode! Yes, I know some would have liked to have seen a little more of the other cats and are worried about that whole “Lion-O/Pumyra Show”, but I think it was important to focus on Lion-O and Pumyra to make a clear parallel and contrast between the events in Plundarr and the Leo flashbacks.
I’m also glad that they are taking their time with Lion-O and Pumyra.

I still hope that Lion-o actually isn’t interested in Pumyra and that she gives up on him and goes for Bengali. So that Lion-o have other woman he could show interest in like Mandora, one of the Warrior maidens, a new cat character not from the show, etc.
Still another good episode and some more back story from Leo’s time as well.
A part of me does want to see something happen between Lion-O and Willa, I can’t help it. Still, I’m not clinging tight to this sentiment.
It would have been epic to have the sabretank roar in and take on half a dozen of the lizard war machines and a few lizard regiments!! Panthro should be unleashing hell! Alas this is what happens when there are only limited minutes in a show and they keep giving them over to the liono/pumyra will they won’t they thing. I’m just glad it wasn’t too overdone in this episode.

There were some really decent touches in this one. I like the rats too. My fave line is still ‘you’re as crasy as kaynar!’ though! And I know how tygra and cheetara feel. Anyone see voyager when seven of nine was introduced and all of a sudden it was the seven of nine show?? Just saying.
I got wind of Tygra and Cheetara’s skepticism of Pumyra this episode. There may be a possible rift between all the ThunderCats.

Meh, I’m not sure with this one. If someone else was introduced before Pumyra that could have been a love interest I would be okay with him not being with Pumyra. But it seems like she’s a good match for him. Also, Bengali isn’t even here yet. If something develops (which it already has) between Lion-O and Pumyra before he comes in, I highly doubt we’ll be seeing her with Bengali.
Maybe. I think they were just put off by the plan. It was obvious everyone ( well except Pumyra) thought it was a really stupid. Then Lion-O starts to question it when he and Pumyra are running through the cave. It was a bad plan, and could have been avoided had Lion-O ignored his emotions. But that’s not our Lion-O. His heart is was makes him different 
Kind or reminds me of Ramlak Rising. Lion-O lets his emotions dictate his leadership, and we can see Tygra and Cheetara are really not feeling it.
I like that Panthera was the one who was initially upset about sacrificing innocent people. I would have expected it to be Leo. Looks like it was also set up to mirror Pumyra’s concern for the slaves.
I know some people are upset by Pumyra’s shift back into an antagonistic relationship with Lion-O, but let’s not forget her feelings about the cat slaves. She personally lived that hell, and so it’s not something she can just get over.

Oh, my God, YES! I was thinking the same thing when Mumm-Ra knocked the Sword of Omens off of Lion-O’s hand, but I don’t think that would’ve fit the dynamic of the series.
Indeed he did! I was hoping for this because it only adds more to Lion-O’s struggle, not to mention more conflict!! It changes the focus of things a little bit, where we lost one battle, but not necessarily the war.
While it did seem like Pumyra was warming up to Lion-O, these past two episodes, I think she had every right to still be angry over the fact that Lion-O didn’t come to her aid sooner.
Pumyra’s anger, while legitimate was also a test for Lion-O’s loyalty as king. Think of it as an additional trial for Lion-O. After showing his compassion to Pumyra, despite her ugly attitude towards Lion-O, she learned that no matter what the circumstances were, Lion-O would stand by his people.
I believe this ultimately convinced Pumyra that Lion-O is both patient and compassionate, and wouldn’t abandon her, despite her pain and suffering.
However, when Pumyra said she’d follow her king, I was happy because this only means that Pumyra isn’t leaving anytime soon.
I also think that the flashbacks were treated like a sub-plot in all of this, just so we’d see the series of events that lead to the creation of both the Sword of Plun-Darr and Sword of Omens.
Speaking of which, did any of you think the Blacksmith who forged both swords looked like Alluro?? His appearance totally reminded me of Alluro from the Lunatacks.

It’s not the slavery people expect her to get over. It’s the blaming Lion-O. And she seemed to have gotten over that last episode, but then she just reverts to blaming him again this episode.
A plothole that I hope will stay minor.
It wasn’t even a plot hole. She had never 100% forgiven him and still felt he should have done more to save his people, even if she realized he was a good king it doesn’t mean she forgave him for not rescuing her and the other slaves sooner. But now it’s all over so it won’t be a big deal anymore.
Pretty solid episode…it really gave us a good understanding of where the sword of omens came from. Good back story here. Of course the whole sunlight excuse for Mummra to runaway from the fight AGAIN was pretty lame. The episode made an excellent recovery with the touching Pumyra and Lion O scene at the end…I think it’s pretty clear she is here to stay folks!!!
While I know this isn’t a superhero show or martial arts show like Legend of Korra..man they really need to regroup for season 2 and deliver some more physical and creative action sequences. This is hard to do because the basis of the Thundercats is “magic swords and stones” which worked well in the no-contact violence 80s.. Today though..kids clearly want more action..more creative choreography…more contact! While story wise the creators of THundercats are excelling..action wise they are totally being owned by their competitors.
What happened on Legend of Korra today…

I honestly like ThunderCats a lot more than Korra, but it’s still a great show.
This reminds me a lot of the totally lame idea of Mamm-ra being afraid to see his reflection which made him run away scared and beaten.It was repeated quite often in the OS and was completely rubbish.
I have thought about that too many times. Originally Joaquim Dos Santos was to direct Thundercats.He is famous for his exemplary skills at choreographing fight sequences and actions scenes.I remember G.I Joe Resolute had some amazing fight moments.
Agreed! and I’ve been saying this around here lately . while I love thundercats , especially for it’s fantasic universe , art and story ,lately it’s been lacking in action , one with thought behind it . or like the right words you used : creative choreography .
It did have some great moments in this department - especially in The Duelist and the Drifter , The forest of Magi oar . and Between brothers . but usually the really good parts in fight scenes last just seconds . so I really do hope they will improve with this the next season. or even in this season’s finale .
