ThunderCats Episode 21: Birth Of The Blade Airdate: 12th May 2012
As Lion-O and Pumyra try to evade Mumm-Ra and his forces in the mines of Mount Plundarr in an effort to keep the Sword of Plundarr out his hands, we flash back in time and discover its origin … and its relationship with the Sword of Omens.

So light is coming in through The holes in the Celling and Mumm-Ra blasts a new hole to escape
Also The sword of Plundar is supposed to be so much more powerful that the Sword of Omens yet Leo had no problem Kicking Mumm-Ra’s butt the first time. This show is dealing in to many absolutes and constantly contradicting itself.
“If the enemy gets this all hope is lost!”
Later the enemy gets what they seek.
“Oh well I guess well just have to win without it now”
I liked this episode a lot more than I thought I would. The villains all showed up in force and reminded me that the show is so much better with them around. It was a little disappointing to see Mumm-Ra foiled by the old sun again, but at least he got the Sword of Plun-darr.
Early in the episode Mumm-Ra said that the retrieval of the sword was too important to leave to “mere animals”…does this mean Mumm-Ra isn’t an animal?
Very enjoyable episode this week with probably the best Lion-O/Mumm-Ra interactions to date. It was also great to see Mumm-Ra get a win in this war by getting the Sword of Plun-Darr.
Mumm-Ra has won for once. He has the Sword of Plun-Darr in his possession, and we finally got to see original animation of him changing into Mumm-Ra the Everliving.
i felt as though it was a pretty good episode but the flashbacks to me were not to good, but the ending was great and we did see some more emotion between pumyra and liono. finally i got to say right now i dont like this sword of plundarr as much as the original, this one looks more like the sword of omens while the original did not and just seemed more cool and dangerous at the same time
it was nice to see liono use the thundercats chant however still no isginia or what happens next
i give this a 6 plus rating
