I don’t see that likely to be honest. The way I see it, Pumyra probably escaped Thundera when it was under attack.

Hey Mousecat…agree with you on most…but to say Tygra is more 3 dimensional than Lion-O – hmmm – may be premature. It is still early in the NS storyline after all. 
I’ve said it before that Lion-O comes across great in this episode. He’s more mature and applying the lessons he’s learned while still being that great, funny guy we saw in the pilot. I know it’s a Tygra episode, but Lion-O is awesome here.
I think it was a combination of both. 
Why would it have been a bleak childhood? He was raised with a loving father and an man like Jaga next to him. Believe it or not having a single father and having a know it all brother are not things that really make your whole life awful.
Episode was great. I always thought of the tigers as outcasts and that they still were “evil” in a sort of way.
Also is it just me or did the animation look really SWEET from the point when Tygra and Lion-O got attacked? ****ING AWESOME!
I thought the close-up shot of Caspian after he was stabbed reminded me of Genma from “Ninja Scroll”. Agreed that there was really great animation towards the end of the episode, very expressive and strong. I need to watch this episode again.

You may infer different from the information we were given, but the facts about Lion-O I stated before stand for they are straight out of the show.

I don’t think Lion-O’s childhood was bleak, but I don’t think it was easy either. Although Claudus would openly state his desire for Lion-O to be more like Tygra even he had his limits and would defend his son when people were too cruel or when Lion-O makes a strong, principled stand.
Tygra did bully Lion-O when they were kids, but he also jumps to his defense when others try to gang up on him, so maybe there was an understanding that “He’s my brother and only I get to do that.”
Lion-O never knew his mother, but then he didn’t have to lose her either. Whichever is the greater cruelty is up for debate and mostly depends on your own situation.
I’d say his childhood was fairly typical for one born to royalty. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t easy either.

I’m thinking Grune wanted Tygra to be king so he could influence Tygra and turn him into a puppet king, with Grune being the real force behind the throne. 
Ya know I just gotta throw this out there What if her name was Latrine? It Sounds pretty but then… This is why I think we just need to get a formal answer from the Production Company. Also they could have simple referenced her as Queen. We may never know.
Isn’t that most siblings? We can tare into each other, get into fights and stop talking, but let some outsider try it? Now its a problem.
Lion O has some great moments ahead of him…but RIGHT NOW..Tygra’s story has more depth than his brothers..I’m sure with time this will change. For the main part Lion Os story line is for now going from teen cub to “Cat” and “King”…which is all good. But come on!! Tygra’s got a pretty dramatic past..you can’t help but love it…very creative of the writers IMO.
