Kind of like how J. Michael Straczynski wrote much of Babylon 5. Then again, that was different as B5 was his baby, and he had the entire story plotted out in his head from beginning to end, with other writers brought on in the first couple of seasons to do the stand-alone episodes.
My theory is that that Tygra had to stay level headed while Lion-O was consumed with revenge. Since it was just the 2 of them this time, it gave him a chance to shed a few tears for both deaths.
In the end, Tygra has not gotten any closure to anything yet, lost his status upon Lion-O’s birth, his mother, his father, then finds another father to lose him. Yes he forgave him but in the end he lost two kingdoms and two sets of parents only to have to “move forward” each time. Seems like Cheetara is his foundation in many ways.
Well said, not only that there is the general masculine upbringing of boys do not cry and his training that would have instinctively kicked in in a battle situation, essentially forcing any emotions deep inside him until he had dealth with the situation. When his biological father died, the emotions resurfaced and were compounded by the new emotions and both needed a release. I don’t understand why people would assume the cats, essentially trained soldiers, stategists and rulers, would stop and have a cry in the middle of situations like that!?!
I’ve been a huge fan of JMS.His works are nothing but amazing.He brings so much depth and quality to his stories.Ranging from the TV hit Babylon 5 to the drama film Changeling, starring Angelina Jolie, his writing is exemplary.His run on the Amazing Spiderman from 2001-2008 brought in a breath of fresh air to the character’s approach and introduced us with many new enemies and storylines.
I count his soul searching miniseries ‘Midnight Nation’ as one of my favorite comics, Rising Stars was also epic, he is very talented and skilled when handling ‘team members’ stories and explores every facet of their personality and the way it affects the rest.His contribution to the Thundercats would be huge, besides he had wrote 10 episodes for HeMan and Shera in the past;)
When it came time to do a Thundercats reboot, there were three writers at the top of my short list whom I would have loved to have worked on it. The first was JMS, with the other two being Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon. Any three of them would have been phenomenal.
I think there’s still hope for JMS writing a Tcats ep. Smith though I think would probably feel it would be beneath him, and Whedon is now in the big leagues with The Avengers and either wouldn’t have the time or ask for too much money.
Kind of surprised to hear good things about JMS’ Superman run. Most people hated the whole concept of Superman “walking the earth” and searching for America. I never actually read it, but I had enough faith in JMS’ talent as a writer that he would have made it work.
I did read some of his Spider-Man run, and yes that was excellent. A shame Joe Quesada came along and practically undid everything he worked on with “One More Day.” 
Fun thing is Stan Lee liked what Joe did. I’m not sure what to think about it myself it’s a cool story i can’t deny that.
I think the thing fans objected to the most was the sort of ham-fisted way it was done. There were some who didn’t like the idea of Peter and MJ married, I think they just wished there would have been a more creative way to do it than to have Peter make a deal with Mephisto in exchange for saving Aunt May.
I can understand where some fans feel a single Spidey would work better, and I can’t deny that. And it’s interesting that he’s pursuing relationships with Black Cat and Ms. Marvel. But there are still those who feel that Pete and MJ were meant for each other and should be together, and I can’t say I disagree with that either.
Besides, it’s comics. So I wouldn’t be surprised if several years later they decide to re-marry Peter and MJ once again.

They SHOULD have had Peter make a deal to sacrifice his marriage to MJ to save MJ, not Aunt May. That old bat is like 100 by now and she’d die soon anyway if it wasn’t comicbook land.
I wouldn’t mind Greg Weisman, best known for his work on Disney’s Gargoyles, writing an episode of the new ThunderCats.
This episode is going into my top 3!. They did a very good job on Tygra’s back story. I loved how the tiger clan was cursed.It was very creepy and interesting. The ending i loved. Very bitter sweet. It seems that Tygra and Lion-o’s realtionship is getting better as time goes on .Especially in this episode. I really hope the writer for this episode does more.
Yeah, this was the worst tear jerker in the series so far. Geeze, this show can really play with your emotions. I suppose that is why I am so fond of it. It makes me wonder if these hard life lessons might be too strong for young viewers.
I asked the crew on Tumblr. They said that she was only referred to as The Queen.
I believe Lion-O’s mother should have been given a name.

Dan said on DA that he didn’t think they even cleared the name with the legal dept. So it’s not an “official” name (which is probably why the Crew blog didn’t say it), but it’s what they called her.
Hot damn, those tiger women are something else. Too bad they’re all dead.
