Thundercast Site

okay here is the times to insert the clips (these times are based from the version I downloaded a week or so back though) I don’t have the newest updated version so only had this version to use…

Clip 1 needs to be placed at around 38.32, straight after I say “mmm now lets go on to the lost intro” (clip 1 is of the ‘lost’ intro  )

Clip 2 needs putting in at around 43.28 just after Chris says the naked Thundercats are an interesting point to debate. Clip 2 covers the Sword Of Omens intro, so needs putting in just before we discuss the sword.

Ditch clip 3 has it isn’t needed!------------

Clip 4: Put this at around 47.08 after Kyle says “surreal” at my very bad impression of Mumm-Ra! lol

Clip 5: Put this around 50.58 after I say “Another point I want to touch upon is Ssslithe as their leader”

Clip 6: Put this around 53.33 after I say “right, next part about Exodus is…a death…Jaga”

Clip 7: Place this at around 1.01.19, just before I say “What do you guys think to this?”

Clip 8: Place this at around 1.05.56, just before I say “right, another peeve of mine is…”

I believe that’s it! I did notice my clips are significantly louder than the podcast volume so if possibly the clips volume might need lowering. Manny let me know if this is ok.

Working on it right now Neil. I should have it up in an hour or two for testing.

Alright, here’s the link:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/thundercast/thundercast_episode1.mp3

This should be the final version.

It’s ready to go Kyle!

Thats cool mate… if everyone thinks its publish-ready then I will download it and get it live.. Let me know

I’d say push the button and make it live. Let’s start thinking about the next one but if there’s no plans on anything specific Im sure Neil and I and Matt can whip up a toys podcast in no time. It’s an easy topic that we can go on talking for days and doesnt require much planning other than main topics.

I haven’t had much time yet, to listen to the revised version. But I did download it last night and will try to give it a listen tonight

Thanks Manny!

Chris here…

I haven’t listened to all of it yet, but got about three-quarters of the way through and it sounded OK to me - I’ll take a listen to the rest, hopefully today. I’m looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition, it’s been a long time coming, and now it’s exciting to think we’re nearly there!

Take care…

Just finished listening to the final version! Excellent work on editing the clips in Manny, you’ve done an excellent job! Many thanks!

Is the episode online yet? If not get it up asap!

Chris here…

I still haven’t had chance to listen to it in full yet - but, if Neil’s happy, I’m happy! To quote Panthro - “If we’re gonna do it, let’s do it!”

Take care…

Ok guys, after a bit of site modification the podcast has been submitted to iTunes and is under review. As soon as I get confirmation that it has been approved we can announce the Thundercast on our homepage.

I am pretty sure this will be a universal upload that will cross international iTunes stores, if not I will send Manny the correct info to add it to the US site.

I have forwarded feedback from iTunes about our podcast to feedback@thundercatslair.org so if someone could check this box, iTunes may confirm the publishing through this address.

Awesome guys.. will keep you posted

Thanks Kyle. Once I get the email, I’ll post the news on the forums and the front page.

By the way, was it hard to add the RSS feed to iTunes? I was thinking about adding the podcast to other podcast sites…

Hey Manny,

I made the site using Apple’s iLife App called iWeb which basically does all of the work for you. It generated the XML page aoutomatically (which was why I was having problems controlling what would show up in iTunes) ANYWAY… I can give you the link to the XML file if you wish.. then you can give that to any podcast site you like..

feed://rss.mac.com/kzlambert/iWeb/Thundercast/%3A%3AThundercast%3A%3A/rss.xml

Hope that helps

Awsome work guys… I searched Thundercats in iTunes…and BANG there is our podcast.. Lets get more of these babies out there!!

Chris here…

Using iTunes, I am now officially subscribed to myself!

Take care…

We are now famous…in our own world that is

Guys I hate to nitpick but, is it possible to do something about the address url? Something like using domain masking or something?

Because I think the full location address

http://web.mac.com/kzlambert/iWeb/Thundercast/Home.html

looks kinda ugly and unprofessional. The Thundercast is meant to be a tool to promote the site further so I think it would be more cool if either www.thundercast.net , www.thundercast.org or www.thundercatslair.org/thundercast were displayed in the address bar at all times. To be honest I’d sooner have the Thundercast pages on this server instead of www.thundercats.org/thundercast redirecting to another server.

What does everyone else think?

and as a side note: the download link here:

http://web.mac.com/kzlambert/iWeb/Thundercast/Episodes/3F926E4E-DC01-420B-AA82-8DCAF95648D2_files/thundercast1.mp3 isn’t working! :frowning:

If I’m not mistaken, I think it’s being directed to the file on our server. I don’t think Kyle would have too much bandwidth to have the podcast downloaded through his host. I am not 100% sure though.

As for the masking, I agree with you Neil.

Ok Guys, I will sort the direct link later this evening.. it was correct until you changed the podcast and added music clips.. now I need to change it.

With regards to the domain names.. It is something that I am looking into at the moment. I know some friends who have this set up.. will sort it eventually.

Ok guys it seems like the issue with masking is taken care of. I made it so that www.thundercast.net or www.thundercast.org show up instead of the long domain that was showing before.

Yeh I was just about to post that I was unable to do that from my end… its from the actualy domain that it needed doing. I will sort out the remaining link from thundercatslair.org/thundercast.. and the direct link a bit later on..

Drama over
