I didn’t, so I expect a change there (not too much from the original though). Panthro was the lamest character for me… ok, maybe “lame” isn’t the correct word, but he was too one-dimensional for me. But that’s just my opinion 
As Lion-O grows and matures, the more power he will gain from the Sword. I can see in some situations the Sword refusing to offer it’s help to Lion-O in order to teach him lessons about certain things.
As for MumRa ? I’m guessing he’ll be on the cusp of victory over Lion-O just as Lion-O starts to become one with the Sword Of Omens. I also think MumRa will be lusting after the Sword of Omens (along with the stones of power etc), whilst also being afraid of what the Sword of Omens, can do in the proper hands as Cladius put it.
Maybe. He seems bitter to me in all the images I’ve seen of him. Hopefully he’s not. I liked the old Panthro’s personality.
Well to be fair to Panthro, I think I’d be a little bit bitter if I’d been flung out of Thunderian Society and exiled into the Wilds of Third Earth (if that’s why he’s out there). Perhaps Grune framed Panthro for something ?
Whatever the case, I’m guessing Panthro will come round slowly as Lion-O grows and matures in front of him. Anyway perhaps Jaga stayed in contact with Panthro in preparation for the return of MumRa (I’m guessing Jaga will warn Cladius but he will brush it off as an old mans fears). Lion-O is going to need all the help he can get.
As for what happens to the Thunderians as a whole ? I think most will become slaves and others will be out in the wilds of third earth trying to survive and hide from the mutants.
One thing I’d like is if they got rid of the so called “weaknesses” from the Safari Joe episode. At least to some degree.
I can understand Cheetara not being able to keep up her top speed for certain distances. But I can do without Panthro being deathly afraid of bats (he can be a little scared of them sure, but I don’t want him paralyzed with fear). Also Tygra only being able to swim when he’s invisible has to go. That one was just silly.
Panthro lame?! He’d be my first choice for a bodyguard. 
That would fall in line with the original plot where Mumm-Ra and the Mutants were always trying to capture the Sword of Omens.
Was Panthro exiled in this new version? I don’t think I’d read that anywhere.
I think if anyone is unable to swim, it should be the kittens. Or perhaps Cheetara, it would be fun to see Lion-O and Tygra both race to try and rescue her.
As for phobias, I don’t mind them with the adult Cats if they’re done well. Indiana Jones was afraid of snakes but it was done well and they revealed in the 3rd movie where his fear of them originated. I have a friend in his 30’s who is deathly afraid of spiders. So I could find such phobias plausible, especially if the character had a bad experience with them in their past.
Indy was afraid of snakes, but he wasn’t so scared of them that he couldn’t get past them. I think I would be more ok with a fear like that if they explained why he’s scared of them.
I agree in that the weaknesses have to go… I like Balgus’ idea of how they can be more some sort of limitation now, but not a weakness. Especially Panthro being afraid of bats. I mean, do you really think in the old show Panthro would have ever entered a cave, for example, knowing he could find hundreds of bats there? He would have avoided those places-
Same with Tygra, he would have tried to keep away from water as much as possible (although remember he wasn’t present in the episode “The Terror of Hammerhand”, but he was in a lot of watery episodes later, like “Dr. Dometome” and “The Spaceship Beneath the Sands”, although in this one he didn’t enter the water… also, he couldn’t swim in “Turmagar the Tuska” when he fell to the ocean, but I like to think it was because he was in some kind of trance). Anyway, I think that one won’t be a problem this time, seeing that Lion-O and Tygra climbed those trees to ring the bell, and Lion-O fell to a lake. I think Tygra wouldn’t have risked himself to fall to the water if h knew he can’t swim, right?
I think the trio of Tygra/Cheetara/Lion-O are suppose to correspond and fill the roles of the older generation of Thundercats. Lion-O will undoubtedly fulfill the role of his father as king at the end. Cheetara probably will do the same for that of her mentor, Jaga as the cleric. Tygra is harder to nail down, but he think he will fill the role as the military general that Grune/Panthro once had.
Tigers are natural swimmers. It was crazy that OS Tygra couldn’t swim unless invisible.
I agree that this weakness was ignored in the new series, since Tygra’s bell race with Lion-O inevitably meant someone was going in the water. And the giant Scratching Post of Thundera seems to be used as a training tool of some sort since there’s another pair of Thunderans fighting each other in one of the trailers.
Random Idea/theory:
Some people have kinda noticed that Cheetara’s Bo stick is really plain and honestly just looks like a peice of simple wood.
I just got the idea in my head that maybe it is just a peice of wood.
What I mean is maybe she can find a stick pretty much anywhere and uses her Cleric magic to make it grow into her Bo. Instead of it being some kinda technology.

Agreed. I hope it’s just a few healing tricks. Honestly, I didn’t care for her sixth sense in the OS. I think it got used as a plot device way too much and kinda dragged down her character.
I think they might combine the sixth power from the OS with the cleric thing from the new one, and maybe her magic abilities has something with foreseeing or seeing the past or something like that. I don’t want her performing Harry Potter magic.
Also, even when I want to se Tygra’s mind powers, it doesn’t seem to me they’re thinking of it from the previews.
Well as for Tygra he didn’t use it all that often in the original either.
I don’t mind Cheetara mind powers, but I hope they’re pretty limited. Maybe she can be an empath instead of psychic. Cause, I mean, the Sword is already there to give warnings and show Lion-O things.
You’re right about Cheetara: her having sight beyong sight would be pretty much the role of the sword. An empath would be great.
About Tygra, that’s what I mean precisely. I want to see more of his mental powers, if they gave him any this time around. Maybe, and this would be a good theory, he “wins” Cheetara over Lion-O precisely because of that. Think of it: they both have these powers that make them feel somehow outcasts, or weirds, or whatever, and they bond because of that mutal feeling.
With that, and with the idea of him bonding with the twins because all of tehm being orphans, Tygra could be a really interesting character this time (not that he wasn’t in the OS, no matters what people say lol). He could be someone that is more than he shows… you know, for the common viewer he might be the jealous, arrogant guy, but beneath of it there lies a sensible, empathic person who is just afraid to show others his true colors because of Clawdus lessons and expectations.

Grune is there with Claudus and Jaga in the trailers. So he’s still with them when it starts. I haven’t seen anything about Panthro wanting revenge anywhere, so I don’t know if that comes from any official information or not. Though I have to admit I’ve never seen that picture of Panthro anywhere else. Maybe they have a source.

Panthro with a history with Grune is pretty awesome..adds more to the plot of the Thundercats and him being enemies. X3
If Panthro is a former General and Grune the current General it kinda makes sense. Grune could have caused Panthro to get “fired” somehow to take his place.
Maybe Panthro discovered something about Grune and his plans of traition and was about to tell Clawdus, but Grune (who Clawdus trusted more for some reason) made Clawdus believe Panthro was the traitor.
That’s most likely the case. In order for Grune to get close to Claudus, he needed to get Panthro out of the way. Maybe he framed him somehow.
The character sheet for Tygra on IGN’s site has one pencil drawing of him making the stereotypical “I’m using my mind powers” pose. Hand to head, eyes shut… It’s either that or he’s got a headache. So, it seems like a good possibility that he’s getting to keep his mind powers from the OS.
The Panthro-Grune connection makes sense. Grune has probably been planting the seeds for a takeover for a very, very long time.
