Tygra will not be tempted by Grune because he knows Grune is a traitor who now plays for Team Mumm-Ra. The only way I can see Tygra coming under Grune’s influence is if Mumm-Ra either puts Tygra under a spell or makes Grune a magical potion to slip to Tygra.
I agree that at some point Tygra will get angry enough to leave the group, if only to showcase him. But we know something will happen to make him return. What that is remains to be seen. I hope it’s done well, though.
Hey, I never said that Tygra would actually join, just that Grune might attempt to sway him later. Didn’t Grune say something in the first episdoe about how Tygra reminded him of himself when he was younger? He probably thinks that Tygra would throw Lion-O under the bus like he did Panthro for power.
I just wanna address two comments 
‘this show isn’t adult as the original’ - In the original series when Karnor is shown they don’t say ‘he’s dead!’ they say ‘he’s not alive.’ In this one, you see a guy die not only infront of Liono but in his hands.
‘Unlike the OS this one is focusing only on LionO’ First, its only been 4 episodes, all they’ve really focused on was haulling ass after their town blew up. Secoind, in the OS, Liono was the ONLY character in EVERY episode, he is the lead character. I feel you pain, my guys (the Lunatacs) aren’t even in this series but we just gotta accept it and move on.
Don’t forget that the NS has shown Lion-O kill, he killed that chameleon. In the OS, Lion-O never killed anyone.
I just watched the episode and must say I’m not liking the new series as much as the old ones. New ones seem to childish to me.
Another differece is tha now episodes seem to start, develop and finish too fast. Don’t know why, but even when the OS episodes lasted the same amount of time, when I watch them now they seem longer, with more action.
I’m not liking Lion-o either. Besides all what has been said about his attitude, I hate it how he sometimes acts like a jerk to his group, but as a hero for others (the fishmen, the Petalars), and at the end he’s the brave, heroic, smart one. It happens too fast.
Also I’ve been thinking, not only Lion-o and Tygra lost someone, but all of them. Cheetara lost her father figure and leader (Jaga), and we know nothing about her past; and the kittens are orphans, we don’t know if they lost their parents or never got to know them. But they all lost their ity, friends, etc. So Lion-o, stop being an a*s and star considering others’ feelings as well.
When Emmrick (sp?) said good bye to Lion-o and gave him the speech about what matters us how you live, the friends you make and the love you share, I expected him to turn back to the other TCs and try to ammend things with Tygra maybe. He’s by his side after all.
Tygra seemed more sympathetic now, especially when he said maybe he misread the map. I sensed some guilt for failing the Petalars. They could have gone deeper in that, like Lion-O, Cheetara or a Petalar saying “wasn’t your fault” or something in that line. But again, so far, they’re neglecting the other characters’ feelings and insights to make Lion-o a great character.
Also, when at the end Lion-o said “TCs never retreat”, he could have glanced at Tygra and maybe blinked an eye to him, letting him know he was right at the beginning and that he (Lion-o) is taking him (Tygra) in consideartion and learning from him.
And also, by the end, when Tygra told Lion-o Claudus would be proud of him, Lion-o did good by saying he wouldn’t have made it without them, but he could also have told Tygra “and of you” or something like that.
What I liked the most was Slithe, he’s cruel now… and he said “yesss” by the end!
And again, I want Tygr to use the whip and turn invisible. That chamleon would have been a good amtch for him. Heck! He even seemed to stole Tygra’s lines from the OS (I think he said at least once “You can fight what you can’ see” or something like that besides “Now you see me, now you don’t”). It would have been great if Tygra fought him for shooting his brother, and defeated him.

I just watched the episode, and judging by the ending, I must say I now doubt Tygra will leave the group at all. He even expressed some admiration towards Lion-o and seems to me he’s finally recognizing him as a good leader.

+2. Being aimed at children is not a good excuse for shoddy writing. Bad story or not, Im sure TC will be a commercial success. Merchandise will sell, but what about street cred? I dont think TPTB want to be known for lack luster story elements and inconsistent characters.
Im still in the Honeymoon stage. There is very little they could do this early on to turn me off. Now once we get like 10 episodes in and still no consistent characters? No diversity of interaction?
I cant promise that they’ll see any of my money.
Have you guys seen " The Regular Show"? They get away with some rather adult humor. Im not saying TC needs to start cracking crotch jokes, but I dont see why it being on CN would prevent more mature story lines. And that torture scene in the last episode? I can guarantee that I will fast forward through it. So they do have wiggle room.
If these kids are so …limited (no offense, not sure about that) that we shouldn’t crave about good structured storytelling then I doubt they’d be to fazed by it either way. Why not “try” to satisfy both audiences.
I liked Emrich’s story. It was very enlightening and emotional. Each time he aged I got just that sadder.
Tygra: I loved you man! What are you doing as of late? Its like the last 3 episodes have different versions of you. I know he’s probably still hurt by his father’s death, but other then being intuitive we have no real reason to think so. I understand why they had Lion-O and Cheetara talk it through, but it would be nice to see Lion-O talk about it with his brother. This flip flopping character development is really getting to me. Its a major distraction from the story line. Instead of the interaction and dialog organically flowing and coming together, it just looks awkward and OOC.
Um yeah. Lion-O, charging into an army of enemies all equipped with technology was stupid. How about a battle plan. Something like when you and Tygra took out those guards and stole the sword back from Mumm-ra? That just my opinion. Take it or leave it. His attachment to Emrich was the biggest highlight of this episode.
Cheetara: I dont know. Shes cute. I hope we get to see her interact more with the other characters. She and Tygra both are only useful when a fight breaks out or in relation to Lion-O. I understand why Lion-O gets most of the attention, but it would be nice to know about the team dynamic. I mean Inuyasha was the title character, but we still got to know the other team members well. They all interacted with each other and had defined relationships. I know, I know this is only episode 4 but the warning signs are flaring up.
Kit/Kat/Snarf: Very cute. Glad to see them being goofy. Snarf gets a point for being a c**k Block . Those in moderation are always fun :D:thumbsup:
Better then last week, but the problems that were minor last week are starting to look like legitimate problems. So while I liked the overall stroy line better, its still a 7/10 for me.
Actually you don’t know if the lizard is dead or not. All you see is Lion-O swinging at him.

He had the potential to produce more blunt drama directly with the sword than OS Liono ever used it directly for.
I thought the implication seemed obvious.
Regarding Lion-O and Tygra, I honestly don’t see this big “jerk” vibe toward each other from either of them. Both of them are young and neither seem to be terribly in tune with their emotions. They’ve also been in an incredibly dangerous and tense situation since they had to go on the run.
As brothers, they still seem loyal to one another even if they don’t agree. It’s implied in their overall actions. Yes, they snipe at each other, and most likely, neither is going to go, “Gee, you were right, I’m sorry,” to the other unless it’s something major. A little thing like the “Thundercats don’t retreat” argument just doesn’t seem serious enough to elicit that kind of response. Both of them have a lot of pride. It doesn’t make them bad individuals; it makes them flawed and human. (Well, as human as a Thunderian can be. But you know what I mean.)
Also, I wanted to say in regards to people running Tygra down for not saying “Lion-O” when he was shot while Cheetara did… she is the faster of the two. Maybe she just drew breath first. It happened very fast. Tygra was obviously shocked. He didn’t just “stand by” or anything like that. At least not in how I interpreted it.

I’m not saying he didn’t kill him. I’m just saying there’s no way to know until a future episode and he could’ve easily just been knocked unconscious.

I suppose he could but I would wonder why. The feel of this cartoon makes me think he would have killed the chameleon.
Don’t forget the other lizards he swung at. They are obviously dead.
Now for the record, while I kinda hope Lion-O has the cojones to have tried to kill him, I also kinda hope he didn’t because I thought the “specialty” lizards were all kinda cool and want to see them again later (with their own action figures!)
I’m only buying the Classics line that’s coming out. Although if they make a Claudus figure I’ll definitely buy that.
I haven’t watched the OS in a while but the stuff that stands out for me that could be considered mature are:
Exodus
Jaga’s death. He states that he is too old to make the journey so you know he’s gonna die. We saw him die. Since they were aliens you could assume they pass on differently than we do.
The Unholy Alliance
When Lion-o decided to go “hunting” and the sword stopped him. Jaga told him those creatures have as much right to the life-force as he did. You got that he was going to kill those deer.
Trouble with Time
Tygra almost dying from the Cave of Time. He looked like death.
The Fireballs of Plun-Darr
When Tygra was captured and strapped to that machine to be ripped to the Four Winds. We got a pretty graphic example of what that thing could do.
Maybe kids thought more while we watched these shows back then. Or at least had an active imagination to fill in the blanks.
I think the story writing in the OS started strong and went downhill. Maybe this series will go the opposite direction? Time will tell.
Honestly? It’s reminding me of the Last Airbender with the pacing.
It started rather slow and picked up pace and characterization as the story progressed.
If I remember correctly after the first 4 episodes of Air Bender I wanted them to drown Sokka. Then later Zuko took over that special place in my heart. Yes, I even was cheered for Azula in the final battle for the fire nation.
I’m not anywhere near that with any of the TC characters yet.
