To those disapointed with how Ssslithe speaks… I did hear him say “Yesssss” in this episode… did folks miss that? 
Lol…hey stop that. We’re not suppose to be that smart and notice that. Its a cartoon for kids. Hahaha. Yea ur right tho, one would think they’d have some hi tech armor. Atleast one could disappear until he had the all powerful grapes thrown on him that single handedly distroyed his cloaking ability…smh:confused:
The grapes didn’t actually destroy his cloaking ability, if you re-watch the scene when you get a chance he’s still “see-through/invisible”, there’s just the juices of the grapes sliding down his face making his position obvious so Lion-O rubs it in. 
Yeah it appears he’s going to have to learn how to use and/or recognize the sword’s abilities, like the warning as perhaps he’s currently not necessarily aware that such a function exists and may not even be listening for the eye or feeling the sword vibrate yet within his claw piece, whereas sight-beyond-sight I think I remember Claudus mentioning as a sign of being the heir so he tried it (if he didn’t know of it I wonder if he’d hold it in that position next to his eyes as it’s kind of unusual). I guess we’ll have to see if they will indeed be adding all of the other powers from the OS and if so if he learns them as he gets in synch with the sword or if he learns about them some other way. Which made me think, I wonder if he’s going to have some fear to get over about trying sight-beyond-sight again after having such a nightmarish vision and seeing Mumm-Ra of all things in there on his very first try?
@purrsia…im right there with ya. I mirror everything you just said. Like many of us here im a true fan of the OS…my only gripe about the new series is that I wish that they were 1 hour episodes. Its just goes too fast and most of it seems rushed, the pacings off. Now that older im all able the detail…However, overall im excited about it. The new series is pretty much what drove me to this sight and re-live alittle of my childhood thru other ppls post and images of the OS collections. Heck, a few weeks ago i was able to score a couple of the sdcc lion-o, and a few of the lion and tygra 8" classic figures, i tell my wife they’re for my son but she knows im lying, since my basements full of classic toys and my video games. Who am I kiddin:p

I thought ep 3 was rushed but I thought this ep was much better paced. Longer eps would really fit though, the mood of this show and it’s scale makes it feel like the time flies by and I’ve felt like the point they’ve stopped at each time so far has been a good hook.

Actually Jaga said that only the greatest king would have Sight beyond Sight. Claudus was surprised when Lion-O stopped swinging his sword around when he saw the vision.
Good thoughs…i actually forgot he did that in 1st esp…his father was definitely trying to teach him about the sword, although he also said the sword would choose him…or something like that. But definitely seein Mumm-ra scared him..like many im looking forward to more. That 1st double esp spoiled us, it needs to be 1hr long. Maybe they can just show us 2 espisodes every friday…something.

As I had hoped, it was a very solid episode that was very poignant, and addressed the ideas of death and living life to the fullest very well.

[li]Liked the scene early in the episode with Kat and Kit taunting each other like brother and sister, like they should.:)[/li][li]Lion-O’s ruminations on his father. Maybe it’s personal bias, but when my grandfather passed away a few years ago, both my dad and I sort of felt the same way during his memorial service. So that kind of hit home for me.[/li][li]Liked the little bit of conflict between Lion-O and Tygra. Conflict just makes the characters more interesting, as opposed to the OS where everybody got along and consequently the characterizations felt flat.[/li][li]The Petalars definitely had a Miyazaki vibe going on, but I liked that. And the ep made great use of their life cycle.[/li][li]Liked the Reptilian tracking team, and it was nice to hear more Reptilian’s names beyond just Slithe. Again, personal bias, but I always thought the Reptilians were the coolest looking of the Mutants. The Jackalmen, Monkians and Vulturemen can take their sweet time getting into the show as far as I’m concerned.[/li][li]Those Reptilian mechs again. I hope they make toys out of those! (They kind of remind me of the Invid shock troopers from Robotech a little).[/li][li]Liked the scenes of Emrik (how’s his name actually spelled, anyway?) bonding with Lion-O. This show really is a quantum leap over the original, and again with this episode, I’m very glad that it’s finally reaching the potential that I thought it always had. I hope they keep up the great work!
Ok, guys, I get that Lion’s “teenagers” and Tygra’s “but I’m older” comments were meant for humor. I just didn’t like how they represented the characters.
I think the Sword of Omens is a very complicated thing in this new series. Claudus said, “Let me show you what it’s capable of in the proper hands.” It was stated that evil can not touch it. And Jaga said that “Only the Sword of Omens knows if there is a true Lord of the ThunderCats within you.” Or something like that.
It gives the impression that the sword is alive. It is not only aware of who is holding it but it is aware of the deeper reality of who is holding it. So when Lion-O holds the sword, it knows Lion-O better than Lion-O knows himself.
Right now Lion-O lacks maturity and wisdom. He’s a teenager who just lost his father and his kingdom in a very devastating blow, he’s now wrestling with his emotions and trying to find himself as he goes through trial and error methods of trying to prove he’s worthy of the title. I think as he becomes the hero we all expect him to be, he will learn more secrets of the sword.
Just a guess. Perhaps too the danger signal didn’t come because it was still far enough off and Snarf warned him first.
And if anyone is implying I’m a shipper, far from it. I would be happiest not to see any shipping and to see the team function as team like they did in the original series. That is why I’m happy Snarf interrupted what was going on between Lion-O and Cheetara. Cheetara was so totally flirting when she put her hand on Lion-O’s hand. I only said I prefer her and Tygra because of the creators telling us there will be this stupid love triangle between Cheetara and the brothers. (why is there no annoyed eye role emoticon for the board?)
I still say I just want to see Lion-O and Tygra fight it out and get over it. I grew up with older brothers. When they got on each others nerves, there was none of this passive aggression, they got into physical fights and got it out of their system. And maybe if Lion-O wins the fight, that will help Tygra believe his little brother is more capable of being in his position.
A lot of you have already said what I wanna say, so I’ll just use the power of quotes and add in my 2 cents.

This episode was extremely well-done, I really don’t have any big nit-picks with it story/writing-wise.
Perfectly cool to have that reaction to the Thundertank…I had pretty much the same reaction.
Right. I think the reason for his silence though was him quietly coming to terms with his father’s death and everything that’s happened so far. Lion-O strikes me as the type to deal with his grief by projecting his anger onto something else (last ep when he was all gung-ho about slicing the crap out of the Ramlak) while Tygra deals with his emotions more internally…though when he saw the Lizards he kind of went after them. It makes sense in my head, Lion-O just lashing out at anything, while Tygra goes after the thing closest to what caused his father’s death/home’s destruction.

As I mentioned above, I had hardly any complaints about this ep. It handled the cycle of life and death spectacularly, and in a nice gentle manner.
My complaints:
- Tygra: Use. Your. D***. WHIP! Gaaah I mean it’s just not Tygra without his whip!
- Slythe said “Yesss” once in this ep that I caught…he needs to say “Yesss” or exaggerate the “sss” noise on his words more and I’ll be happy.

Now this was an excellent episode. A very unique perspective on life, one which went by in blink of an eye as Lion-O said. Loved the ending, just wish the main theme would have lasted through the battle since it is pretty excellent and uplifting than common battle tunes.
Oh no, no, no, no, no. Too cheesy. Too overused. You might as well just have Panthro say, “You rang?”
I think the ending was just fine. It was dark out and even in the dark, it would have been hard to see who it was. They also might have thought Panthro was dead.
I thought this was great. The Petalars are a dose of soft-fantasy that the old toon had and that seems pretty rare in action cartoons these days. Even though it was a fairly predictable story all-told I found it to be quite beautiful and genuinely touching in ways.
Plus, we got a great (if quick) action scene at the end.
All in all, some lovely work. I feel like that last scene should sell a lot of Thundertanks.
You could nit-pick about the time scale of the lives of the Petalar, I suppose. Emmerich is away for two seconds and thinks eons have passed and has grown considerably… does that mean he trained with Lion-O for years and years when they had that short sword-fighting scene? Does that mean they have conversations for decades sometimes? And why was he old and plump in a blink of an eye? But you know what… I’m not going to nitpick.
I really liked this episode, it was touching and action packed, and as before the Animation and Music is top-notch.

In this episode, I liked Lion-O alot and found Tygra to be annoying during the beginning, but he got better at the end tho.
The Petalars were very unique, to me they seemed like something from a Hayao Miyazaki film.
A funny thing was during the scene when the Thundercats first meet the petalars, my boyfriend thought the young petalar asked Lion-O “whats that in your pants?” as that’s what he thought he heard, lol.
Towards the end of the episode was my favorite, Not only do we get to see Lion-O do the ThunderCats Ho move, but we get Panthro, yay!
So, I’m looking forward to more Panthro next week.
I don’t know if anyone else noticed the moon’s of Thundera in the background, they could be the Moons of Plun-Darr.
I’m with Lord Slithor, I think the lizards are pretty neato characters, our avatars are probably give aways though
On that note I’m pretty disgusted with Slithe. What some people see as badass I see as just cartoonish villainy and gross incompetence. He treats his troops, even his elite teams as totally disposable minions. It won’t take long before his guys think about disposing of his bloated murderous hide themselves. I hope I’ll get to see something like that by the series end, leaving Mummra and Grune to the Thundercats.
If the writers wanted to convey how much I should hate Slithe, mission fully accomplished!
