Zuko, Mey and Tuff. Not in depth but yeah was there in Book 3 “Fire” as Zuko joined team Avatar and Tuff slowly getting a crush on him.
Thats what I mean with it though. It’s like every character has is triangle with others that most of stories are somehow just dealing around those. Thats not what I want to see with TCats. Either start one relationship or none. No Triangles pls.
As far as Thundercats are concerned, I prefer the Tygra / Cheetara relationship. Besides it was cute how Tygra winked at her in the first episode. I loved it when Lion-O said “Are you flirting with her?” That was before he even knew Cheetara was a cleric.
We really don’t know if that was flirting or Tygra’s way of letting her know he knew about what she did for Lion-O back in the slums. I got the impression that big brother knew much more about what was going on that Lion-O thought he did.

I’d much rather see Cheetara developed as a actual character before the ‘triangle’ starts.
Frankly love triangles annoy me.
They seem to cater to the most immature of the fan bases. (No offense to anyone here! But some of the hard core shippers of ANY fandom scare the crp out of me. They seem to be the crazy bat*** ones that suck the fun out of everything.)
I’d like to see Cheetara actually developed as a indepth independent character on her own first. That and it’s kind of annoying that it seems pushed everywhere on TV that female characters are not complete on their own. Bleck. Add in she’s supposed to be his adviser and bodyguard in this series. Can’t she be written as a capable professional?

I’ve been shaking my head at ‘Tygra as a ladies man’ thing the fandom got going already.
We really haven’t seen enough of him to know if he’s a skirt chaser or not. He winked at Cheetara once but other than that he’s treated her with nothing but respect.

ROFLMAO! I couldn’t have said it any better. Yes! There are so many bat**** insane shippers out there. And yes they do scare me. I angered many Cheetara / Lion-O shippers out there many times to the point they hate my guts MWAHAHAHA! Okay, for a while I used to pair Lynxana with Lion-O. You would be surprised how they actually acted like I was actually taking their husband from them, especially this one girl in particular. She actually got angry at me…thus why I never RPG anymore LOL.
Now I get even by pairing up Cheetara up with Lynxana LOL
I’m already dreading the possiblity of a episode where Lion-O and Willa end up on a mission together.
I think it would have been a very interesting take if they did the ‘traditional’ royalty angle and Lion’s betrothed via arranged marriage thanks to Claudis. Show there’s a crappy side to being the future king too.

I think they are both “purring” up the wrong tree. I think the answer to this Love Triangle debate is as simple as: Chetara is a Cleric. Their has to be some oath of Celibacy in there some where which leaves both boys out in the cold. I think we are all reading too much into nothing just like so many Teenage Boys. If you think about it any and all advances have been made by the boys and the only real advance I have seen was Tygras Wink.

Sorry but AFAIk thats how the names are in German and I can’t watch it in English. Would make sense knowing Germans can’t pronounce oph, not mentioning TH (it’s always a sss) and that Mai in German is the month May.
So sorry if I had the names wrong but thats the only way I know em for only having the chance to watch most shows in German

Just my two cents on the whole shipping thing, I do get it. We live in a world with both men and women after all, so it’s natural to want to see relationships form between them (or with those of the same sex even). When a bunch of people are in a group for any extended period of time, it’s inevitable that pairings are going to happen. And men and women are contantly sizing each other up. (Ocelli always catch each other checking out members of the opposite sex and rib each other for it. The joke is that just because we’re together doesn’t mean we’re dead! lol!)
Yeah, I tend to stay away from those discussions, as ultimately they mean little. Like you, I’m okay with whatever relationships they come up with as long as they make sense. If someone wants to pair-up, say, Cheetara with Lion-O, Tygra or even Panthro in their fics, that’s okay with me as I see that as one fan’s intepretation. Because of that, it doesn’t mean that it’s gospel. Whatever they end up doing in this show is fine with me, as part of the fun is going to be watching how these relationships unfold.
As for Avatar, I can understand the Aang/Katara/Zuko shipping, as that triangle was deliberately put there by the writers, and in fact some of Aang’s actions were motivated by it as there were times he really believed Katara was falling for Zuko. So there’s enough material there for fans to take it either way. Sokka or Zuko with Toph, though? Can’t really see that one. Toph is a free spirit and ribs or rakes over everyone. There wasn’t any indication really that she was getting involved in a romantic relationship with either of them. I can tell you from experience that girls and guys talk like that with each other all the time, and it doesn’t mean that they’re going to hook up. (Although in the upcoming Legend of Korra, we learn Toph did have a daughter at some point and she’ll be a significant character in the series. No word on who the father is, though I’m guessing from some fleeting scenes in the last episode that it may be The Duke. Personally, since I thought of Toph as a free spirit, I always imagined that after the series when she got older, she took a variety of lovers, never getting particularly attached to any one of them).
Not necessarily. The surprised one was Lion-O (he was the one who said “Cheetara?”), Tygra could have been surprised to see she was the one who survived.
Speaking of Toph/Sokka she very definitely had a crush on him. It was probably the most apparent in the episode “The Serpent’s Pass.”
Why did it feel odd? They’re children themselves and death is hard on adults. So it’s even harder on children. They were playing with the Petalars the entire day…they made friends only to learn that their new friends would die by the end of the day.

If he hadn’t done that, they wouldn’t have met Panthro. The moral of the story was having “Hope” in the face of adversity. Lion-o chose to fight this time and “hope” for the best.
ThunderCats do not retreat and in doing so Lion-O was not living up to the ThunderCat creed. Also they’re outnumbered it’s unrealistic to think that the odds will be in their favor at any time. At some point they must fight back or they will forever be on the run. They will always be running. That is the lesson Lion-O learned from Emerich. Never give up hope even when the situation looks grim. It was a wonderful episode…

Im not trying to rib you or anything, but did we get a confirmation on that. I remember reading a disucussion about it. Im still not 100% sure, though Im leaning towards Lion-O. Its nothing to do with shipping, its just driving me nuts.
Come on you guys. Not all hardcore shippers are crazy. I consider a hardcore shipper to be someone who devotes a lot of there appreciation for the show to the couples. Not solely the ones who pull evidence out of thin air or go ape crazy on other shippers. Those are bad shippers, not hardcore. Hardcore for me, implies a level of finesse. You know what your talking about and its evident from your post.
I failed to see any romantic chemistry ( I get it, Im blind:rolleyes:) between Aang and Katara. I knew he liked her, but I did not see any interest from her until the end and even then I felt it was lacking. So I shipped Katara with Zuko mainly because they looked great together and I liked the overall theme. There were moments in which I felt we could be in the running, but after everything has been said and done, I dont think we had a real love triangle. If the show lasted another season with the same direction then maybe. I feel like they made a joke of Zutara in book 3. Just a few teasing moments here and there.
I agree we have not seen enough from Tygra to wager him a ladies man. I felt it was an accurate trait because really he had no idea what she looked like under there. From the side you can see some boobage, but that robe was severely unflattering. From a viewer’s standpoint Cheetara has a female characters eyes. Long lashes, more almond shaped, thinner eyebrows. Not sure how much Tygra could tell about her. I dunno made him seeem like he’d wink at anything remotley female is all:D
