Yes…but that seems like a lot of speculation. Tygra somehow knows what she did in the slums, winks at her to “thank her” or “I’m watching you” type of thing, knows she is a cleric and is surprised that she is the one who survived and the writers don’t feel the need to let anyone know this for certain or have it really even matter. You could of course be right as niether have any proof. Its fun to imagine I guess.
After a second viewing, I noticed Slithe was using one of his own troops as a chair, in the scene where one is feeding him and another is rubbing his back.

I don’t know–I’ve listened to that line a dozen times but it just doesn’t sound like Will Friedle to me, but since we don’t actually see the speaker it’s just my opinion and nothing more.
I think the problem is that the premier had some parts that made things a bit muddled from the stand point of certain character relationships. Tygra winked at Cheetara, but then later during the celebration he showed surprise at seeing her (and no apparent recognition). Then when he shot her down and saw her face we was super surprised, which seems a little out of place since he’s seen her before without her cleric uniform (I just don’t buy that someone would be that surprised to see someone they’ve seen once before).
It confuses matters because it’s not clear who said “Cheetara?” because Tygra was the main focus of that particular scene (saving Cheetara), then there’s the dialogue and then Tygra was the focus of the scene again, so it seems odd to me that he wouldn’t be the the one speaking. It was after that that Lion-O appeared in the scene, so if he was the one that said the line that’s poor editing (right word?)
I think it’s one of those things that hopefully will make more sense as the characters and their backgrounds become more fleshed out.
Speaking of Toph/Sokka she very definitely had a crush on him. It was probably the most apparent in the episode “The Serpent’s Pass.”
That scene makes me laugh every time.

I was thinking. Had it been Tygra, it would have meant he knew Cheetara from previous times (because we didn’t see a previous interaction before them), and if he knew her, then he could perfectly have winked an eye at her.

That’s one of the reasons I thought it was Tygra who said it since it seemed to fit together pretty nicely.
I’m so used to character’s relationships being at least semi-established in the first episode (attraction, friendship, rivalry, etc.) but at this point there isn’t much of anything with Tygra and Cheetara (unless you count standing next to each other a lot as something). I’m curious to see how all the characters’ relationships (platonic and romantic alike) will develop.
+1 on all the bolded. Im not asking for much just a normal conversation. You two are always off to the side, do you just, I dunno stand there? Do you talk? What about the Kits? How do they fit in relation to the rest of the group? All of this will (hopefully) come to light as the series progresses. On a tumblr post I brought up a very similar point and used the Inuyasha group dynamic as a ideal. Ah, I miss them.

I hope it’s addressed too–I think right now they’re putting a major focus on getting the world set up, the characters into play and Lion-O’s major issues dealt with.
Maybe they wanted to get the team assembled ASAP so anyone who is familiar with the OS but not as up to date on the reboot wouldn’t lose interest because a certain character was missing. If that’s the case, maybe the arrival of Panthro will lead to more focus on the characters and their relationships.

I can see Tygra making one of his snarky comments to Lion-o, defying his authority, and Panthro charging over him like abull for disrepsecting the Lord of the TCs :D. Maybe it will be Panthro who teaches Tygra his place (of course, that won’t do more than resent Tygra even more and listen to Lion-o only out of fear… to Panthro :D).
I agree with this also. Why set up team dynamics when the entire team isn’t present? Now that Panthro is with them they can hopefully start all of that. And I can also see Panthro teaching the thunderkittens fighting skills to make them a bit more…useful then they are right now.
^ True but I think having more characters to define at once, makes the whole process less manageable. I think it would have been easier if the Kits joined like episode 4 or 5 and then Panthro maybe more towards the middle like 12-15.
Not all that worried anymore. Its not like these people are writing ametuer fanfics. They’ve been doing this for a while so they have my confidence. As of now;)
I agree. but if that were done, could you imagine peoples uproar over why the kits and panthro are not in the new series yet. Look what has happened with panthro and he was only absent for 3 episodes.
I totally agree with you from the marketing angle. I just hope the characters wont suffer for it. I mean it can be done, I in my humble opinion think it would have been easier with less members.

and I see panthro bieng more like a mentor to all of them since he was best friend w/ claudius and one of the proclaimed generals of thundera, thats a lot of respect right there.
I loved this episode as much as the premiere! I have watched it like three times and don’t have any complaints. Seeing the Eye beacon was GREAT! Loved the animation.
