Yeah, I got the impression (from the first time I saw it in the previews) that everyone was laughing because the tension (the other Petalars were scared stiff over these strange giants intruding on their encampment) had finally been broken.
What really kind of threw me off that scene was Tygra’s disappearing act. He was there one moment and gone the next or would just show up standing next to Lion-o and he wasn’t there in the scene before.
There was lots of that tbh..
Like in the first episode when snarf trips up one of the brutes.. Hes stood right next to liono, then all of a sudden he has to run like 10 metres to get to him..
But as said before..

Same here. To me it came off as relief-laughter, because no one knew what to expect and there was anxiety on both sides, and then Lion-O broke the ice with a friendly joke. So everyone relaxed and just laughed.
Maybe he had to go and use the little tiger’s room? 
I get it. I don’t agree, that’s all. And so many toy buyers are not children.

to me dying doesnt make a serious more adult i think more adult storylines that make sense do, so to me the original series is still more adult by far compared to this one.

What makes this show more adult for me is that bad things happen and there are permanent consequences for it. In the original show, every time something bad happened, it got reversed by the end of the episode or 5 part special. For the most part. I’m sure there’s a few exceptions.

Thundera is the city.
Kingdom rather than just a.. City.
Uh yeah I said the OS had two planets Thundera and Third Earth. I was wondering about how Thunderians rose to power without seemingly looking no further than their own backyard. On a side note I wonder just how big is the kingdom anyway?

Where did you come to the conclusion that the Thundercats did know nothing about the rest of the world? Or have you missed the other respones that you have got?
I was replying to an reply to a post I made so the why am I still stuck on it comment is kinda unnecessary. I haven’t come to any conclusions either since I said I’m wondering how they went about establishing their kingdom. I know they haven’t shown that but I’m hoping that they do.

It was really more of a nit pick using the term planet in reference to “This is Thundera”, hence the emphasis.

I did’t see Tygra as an ahole in this episode. He was making his point, what’s wrong wth that? We’re biased by what we saw in the first 2 eps. Have we considered Cheetara an ahole had she said Tygra’s lines? I don’t think so, because we got another impression of her in the premiere.
After slowly getting use to the new style and hardly accepting the many changes they did with the whole Thundercats background, I liked this episode.
Now much has been said, but just to pick up on the discussion about Tygra. IMHO there wouldn’t be much of a discussion about him if the makers wouldn’t have torn him so much out of his original role. Tygra is AFAIk the only character in the new series who is totally off. Not only does the character himself (in the new stories) have to find out WHO he is, we as viewers have to find that out too. Especially us old Fans of the series.
I’m slowly accepting the new style of the series, but one thing I just wont accept easily is what they did with Tygra and what childish and stupid rivalry they are creating between Lion-O and Tygra. To me it seems like they did that to him only cause they want some kind of romance to start between Lion-O, Cheetara and Tygra, but that is somehow inappropriate. Actually I fear they’ll turn Cheetara into some kind of slut or so and that will definitely ruin the show. I really miss the old Tygra. There was so much potential to fit him in the new show but they screwed it IMO.

IMO we shouldn’t need to refer to the older cartoon to figure out this new one. They should be kept separate. Im not sure how the OS figures into this continuity, but I would wager it a parallel universe type of thing. Different personalities are fine (IMO) as long as their consistent and warranted. I know many of the OS fans took offense to the “Tygra was no ones favorite” comment, but I’d rather he be a jerk than tuna salad.
If there were no differences then why bother watching the NS ?
Believe it or not, Im a shipper. Would I like to see Cheetara’s development sacrificed because of it? No. I doubt they’d turn her into a slut, but I dont think she should be anymore about romance than the guys. I dont want her to be famous for being fought over by the guys.
