I think Lion-O will make Pumyra realize the error of her ways, and she’ll somehow redeem herself. I can definately see this happening. Now, how will she redeem herself? That’s the question. Maybe at the cost of her own life, or some other way and return to Lion-O’s arms. ??
So I watched the whole second half of the first season. I found myself screaming at Lion-O “You idiot! She is evil!” every time he tried to calm Pumyra down or flirt with her. I felt so stupid not seeing the signs the first times I watched the episodes.
If the main plot and direction of the second season is going to be about saving Pumyra, then end it right here. I am all about character redemption, but not at the expense of the bigger story.
Also I don’t understand this bringing Pumyra back to Liono. There was never anything there to begin with, it was all staged from the beginning. We still know nothing about Pumyra, other than she was killed in Thundera, regenerated by the ASOE, and there is a great deal of sadness within her about some “loss”. Everything else about her has been a lie.
I agree. I don’t think the whole thing should be focused on her. Maybe 3-4 episodes but that’s it.
…but she has gotten to know Lion-O during this time and it could be possible that she has mixed feelings about him. She carries a strong grudge against him, while at the same time she cannot deny the nobility he has displayed towards her. An internal conflict could begin in her.
nods I agree. and I also kind of feel like if Lion-O decides to use her desire for revenge against her, and kneels before her saying that if “you want to kill me, feel free to do it right now” she could hesitate. I mean come on, when someone has to chance freely given to them, there’s still a chance that it won’t happen out of hesitation.
Not to mention Lion-O is pretty good at making promises. And since all she wants is revenge against him (which I going to say equals his death) then another thing that will stop her is even if she did use that chance to kill him, it would be because of his promise - which shows a lot of loyalty.
She’ll go through her own trial in the Spirit Stone? Say, a re-enactment of ‘The Pit’, where Jaga can test her REAL heart.

Although I think Lion-O will want to save Pumyra he isn’t going to pull his punches to do it. He has to make her see what she is before he can save her and is going to lay it all out for her: She’s puppet and a slave to a master who sees her only as a tool he doesn’t give a damn about her, and when he’s done with her Mumm-Ra will cast her aside like a broken toy.
Lion-O on the other hand fought for her non-stop since the moment he saw her, he was willing to die for her, even by her own hand, just to prove his devotion. She was right about not deserving his compassion, but guess what? She’s still going to get it.
I don’t think she’ll take it well.
I think it’d be great to see him change her mind by still harboring affections for her. If she shows up again, he says he’s still in love with her and she’ll be really shocked and confused. Maybe it could hit a soft spot in her where the real Pumyra still exists.
Getting to the topic of Pumyra unrelated romance it would be kind of interesting to see what happens of Lion-O ends up falling in with the Warrior Maidens at some point. He’ll probably have to face Willa in combat at one point (Because that’s the way the world works) only for her to become infatuated with him when he bests her.
What he needs is a girl like Panthera. He should go ask Leo for advice. I’m sure he’ll say “quit looking and worry about saving the world, moron!”
Yeah, Leo didn’t even ask for Panthera to make a move, she just did it all on her own.
I liked them as a couple because of this. I think Lion-O will find a girl like Panthera, hopefully after he gets over Pumyra.
For the Warrior Maidens to actually make an appearance in the NS, they’d have to be of either alien origin or even zapped back from time (aka Earth when it was populated by humans) by an enemy who wants them dead.

I’m kinda hoping Jaga would actually introduce Leo to Lion-O. Maybe Leo was actually surprised about how Panthera made her move on him, but who knows? The Leo/Panthera ship was only carried out while Lion-O was in Leo’s body. Which means Lion-O got kissed by a girl before Tygra!!
If it ultimately turns out that Pumyra is at a “point of no return” now, then I’m for this!
Well, I’m not sure. I’m still not 100% on humans in the NS.
I’m all for interspecies romance in most works of fiction, but I don’t think it really works in Lion-O’s case. He’s the king after all, of a people whose population has been decimated. I kind of expect him to find love with another cat. If, say, Bengali or one of the Kittens fell in love with a human, I’d be alright with that. But not Lion-O. it may work as a sort of way of demonstrating the different races learning to unite and love one another, but I don’t think it could be pulled off convincingly.
I agree. I’m hoping he finds another cat (if Pumyra doesn’t get redeemed and considering he keeps his love for her) to be with. Maybe at the end of next season we’ll see a fast-forward to the future where it shows him with a queen.
If they do pull that, I’d like some back story (a few episodes worth), and at least a good name for a Queen. But i’d rather have Pumyra get redeemed/the Stone grant her life again after the ASoE leave her. It would suck that all Lion-O’s hard work to get through to her was worthless.
