Someone on the Mumm-Rana/Lunataks thread said maybe Mumm-Rana reincarnates Pumyra into what she should be next season.
I’m wearing a shirt with Pumyra (OS version) on it. I feel betrayed.
Lion-O may have been let down one too many times, but he’s still gutsy enough to carry on being himself. And that’s why he’s my 2nd favourite cartoon character.

It’s on a different level…though admittedly, Lion-o never had a chance with either of them. Cheetara having chosen at 12 years old, and Pumyra hating him, being undead and a spy.
No, not really. Cheetara was a bit of a flirt, but it was more of Lion-O feeling betrayed than anything.
And now he’s gotten the second proverbial groin-kick. Not only did he lose his second love interest, he found out she’s working for (and maybe consorting with) his worst enemy, she HATES him still for a mistake he made a long time ago and thought he was setting right, Vultare joined the Axis of Evil, Mumm-Ra got the Tech Stone…
Man, can’t this cat catch a break already?
I can see him being embittered and distant at the beginning of Season 2, having lost faith in others (and himself, again). Maybe he needs another existential trip into the Book of Omens to set him back on the right path.

I don’t think he’ll be quite that bad, he managed to avert most of the “Love makes you dumb” tropes and even managed to fight back after he betrayal rather than just shutting down completely. Most likely he’ll be soured on the idea of romance in general and will start avoiding and ignoring any potential entanglements. If he finds out there might be a way to free her from Mumm-Ra’s control he’ll probably try and find it, citing his previous vow to not let her live as a slave.
Yes, he definitely wasn’t nearly as dumb with this relationship as other cartoon characters. I think he knew it wasn’t completely his fault that he was betrayed, and that Pumyra died (how was he supposed to know she was there?).
Even Zuko had a girlfriend. Lion-O has been screwed over romantically twice, because 1) the girl fell in love with his brother and 2) the girl is dead, hates him for something not actually his fault and works for his archnemesis who killed almost all his people. Also he never knew his mother because she died giving birth to him and his father was murdered by someone they both trusted. Zuko has a scar and a crazy sister, and i realize that i am underselling it but i would say that Lion-O’s life is much suckier.
By the way Mumm-ra is not controlling Pumyra, she is only working for him because she hates Lion-O, wants him dead, and Mumm-ra hates him too, not to mention he brought her back to life, but i would not say she is being controlled she is only being driven by an unnatural rage and desire for revenge.
I am obsessed with romance in any show/reading material and after this last episode i have just about given up on any shipping for Lion-O, and trust me if u guys knew u would understand how big a deal that is.
Does any1 kno if Lion-O had a love interest in the original Thundercats comics. Sorry i wrote so much i just get really into discussions about romance in series i like.
While he may go through a bitter spell I think Lion-O, for his part, will become obsessed with “saving” her and try to either free her from Mumm-Ra’s control or convince her that he’s only using her and will toss her aside when he’s done.
He vowed once that he wouldn’t let her live as a slave, and he’s a guy who takes his promises very seriously. He may have to talk to Jaga again to get the whole story on how much Mumm-Ra was controlling vs how much she did on her own. Mumm-Ra stated in no uncertain terms that he owns her and my own personal theory is that was was kind of sleeper agent, controlled only subtly by Mumm-Ra from a distance, but once he zapped her in the stone chamber the then took direct and complete control, making her say and think exactly what he wants her to. Getting her back may be the focus of the second midseason finale, or even just the first arc of the second season.
I can’t help but think that Mumm-Ra kind of shot himself in the foot here though, he may have gotten the Tech stone and Pumyra, but with her no longer with the cats he can’t track them anymore, and they have the book that tells them where the final stone is and they’re already a stone ahead of him. Add in the fact that Lion-O’s growing allies means his army will be four times the size of Mumm-Ra’s and it almost feels like a Pyrrhic victory for evil here.
Here’s my take.
Lion-O is the king destined to unite the nations of Third Earth, destroy the greatest evil known to anyone, and resurrect his kingdom from the rubble and ashes it was left in.
Not that I don’t want him to be happy or anything, but he’s got a lot on his plate and his mind should be focused on more important tasks than getting a girlfriend.
Just cause Lion-o has more races in his army does not mean it’s “four times stronger”. Mumm-Ra has all the tech he needs to kill all of them in the upcoming war (for now).

Lion-O also has the Berbils and the Birds, both of whom are advanced technological societies. The Lizards simply use whatever tech in put in front of them, they can’t innovate it and Mumm-Ra has exactly one scientist in his employ in Vultare, Lion-O has two cities worth of tech-savvy friends he can call on.
They still dont have the tools. Mumm-Ra has an established army and Lion-o dont. At the moment they dont have any weapons for this “four times stronger” army you suppose he has. Why unite all races if he does not need em all? From my perspective it’s not that he’s as that overpowerdly strong as you say, but that he will NEED every one of them to even stand a chance. Also which of the birds are talking about? I suppose they spit, some went to lion-o and some went evil. Kinda dumb only ONE OF THEM would go over to Mumm-Ra’s side.
Come to think of it maybe Mumm-Ra will have: Lizards, Monkies, Jackals and Birds as his final army, why stop at only using Lizards when the war breaks lose?
Actually, no. Kaynar, Addicus, and Vultaire were all traitors/enemies of their iwn kind. Just because Mumm-Ra has someone from those animal groups doesn’t mean he has complete control over the whole species.
and yet again, just cause Lion-O has more races on his side does not mean his army is 4x as strong, and to add to that they also know and have tech then the war is already won. If they were smart they would use the stones they have and the 4x army with enough tech to rival mumm-ra and just win it all.
But… They can’t. They dont have an army which is capable of battle yet i would say, if ever. Mumm-Ras palls have very advanced tech and good weaponry which Lion-o and the rest lacks, and yes tech or no most of them probablly dont know how to use it yet either.
Army incapable of battle…didn’t they just fight last episode? Plus, give it time! He’ll build up his army. It’s not like he was going to have a complete military by the time he was done with finding the book of Omens.
They fought.. Like i dunno about exact number but let’s say 30 vs 2? The birds were the ones using tech to fight not the others.
IF the elephants and the dogs would be in the frontline RIGHT NOW using the weapons THEY JUST USED they will end just like Thundera.
Also about your giving time speech.. I just said that. THEY ARE NOT READY, how many they ever are they dont have the tools to build an army capable of harming Mumm-Ra in any way. That’s just logic, also yes i agree with you. They need more time.
