Maybe thats why Panthro’s main focus is to just get his revenge. As for Pumyra being a love interest..it’s very possible…you can’t rule anything out at this point!!

Ok, sorry. I think she should look less 80’s too. The creators have done a great job of updating the other characters so I have high hopes for the new versions of Pumyra and Bengali (especially since Lynx-O looked awesome in the pilot episode).

Ooh, that’s a definite possibility. Then again, Panthro is kind of old. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, though. There’s no age limit for love, I guess.

To be honest I think a lot of people like to match characters because they “look good” together…but the really good matches are the characters that BELONG together.
I’m sure her design will be great and fitting to her character..and what she’s all about. They have improved all the character designs in the NS so i’m sure they won’t fail with Pumyra.
If she gets to be Panthro’s girl, fine. There’s always Willa or Nayda for Lion-O.
Just please, please, let’s avoid another love triangle! We’re just barely getting through one.
Lion-O is 17 years old, and boys his age think about having girlfriends. With him now always seeing Tygra and Cheetara together, why the writers don’t have him thinking about wanting someone of his own, if only for a minute or two, is beyond me. It shouldn’t take up a whole episode, of course, but they should at least show Lion-O yearning for what his brother and Cheetara now have.

Panthro’s already in a meaningful, committed relationship with the Thundertank. If he were to become involved with anyone else it would be considered adultery.

Yes but most people tend to go for folk who are simliar or just plain hot. Not everybody agrees that the inside is the most important thing. For me it’s their looks who “drag me in” but the inside that decides if i stay with her or not.
If she’s hot everybody wants her, if she is mig and muscular like Panthro and a real trained gladiator i’m sure our teenage Lion-o would not be as interested.

I think Lion-O will be less likely to be interested in finding someone because he’s mad at himself for not reading Cheetara’s feelings toward him. Pumyra’s got her work cut out for her if she’s interested in him.

That’s pretty much the way I see it too, he’s so determined not to make the same mistake he did last time that he’ll screw up in reverse and mistake Pumyra’s (or whoever’s) obvious attraction toward him as something strictly platonic. He may have to be blatantly told before he finally gets it and realize where his own heart lies in the process.

He’s a brash 17 year old boy with the most powerful weapon on earth, I doubt he’s going to “tread lightly” if he’s interested.Just like he could have done with Cheetara, if he’s interested in Pumyra he could just ask her. Seems like the most cautious approach to me:)
IF they chose to go the love interest route with Pumyra, then I want to see potential from both ends. I DONT want to ONLY see why she would be good for him. The best relationships are the ones in which you can naturally help each other grow and develop into better people.
I don’t know about that, Chique. Naturally he would be determined not to make the same mistake twice anymore (dying can do that to a guy), but that could very easily blind him to what’s in front of him. Even for someone who does have their head and heart in the right place it’s an easy mistake to make and is a way to show that no matter how much progress you make you can still mess up from time to time.
No I disagree, and many people completely misinterpret rizefall and I’s viewpoints on this.
I am not saying there should be no romance at all (Tygra and Cheetara will work very well together in the series if the refernces are kept subtle and it is well written, partly because it is right for their NS characters), only that it is ridiculous that there is a cacophony of bleeding heart wailing the second a female character is mentioned that ‘she should get with LionO’! Or ‘this character should get with that character!’ WHY? The gods spare me from the minds of teenage girls! You are absolutely right that this insidious reliance on romance kills stories like twilight, and too much romance WILL send Thundercats down that path and ruin it. Also WHY is it automatically assumed that someone HAS to be in a relationship with someone else just for the sake of it? WHY? There is no logic in it.
Liono for example is the Lord and future king of the Thundercats. We can assume that at some point in his life he will have a queen by his side, but not yet. He has just had his heart broken, we have all been there in our later teenage years and its rough. But not everyone needs a relationship to get over that. Many people get over it just fine by discovering who they are OUTSIDE of a relationship. They grow and mature as an INDIVIDUAL, alone, not needing to be defined by their relationship, and become happy, adjusted strong individuals which makes any future relationship even stronger, rather than people needing to be in a co dependent relationship because they don’t know how to be single and aren’t happy individuals in their own right. This is what I see for LionO. He should get over his heartbreak, be happy for his brother and Cheetara and grow and mature as an INDIVIDUAL, as a strong leader and future king. He will have the rebuilding of Thundera and the war with Mumm Ra to fight, any ‘relationship’ will detract from that. Now let me explain this very clearly, because some people seemed to have missed my point. This does not mean LionO will NEVER have someone by his side, it does not mean that he will NEVER find love, it simply means that it should not happen for the vast majority of the series run, if ever, depending how long it runs. There will be ample time for him to meet and fall in love with his queen (it doesn’t even have to be a character we know), once Thundera is rebuilt and Mumm ra defeated. To introduce this element now would detract from the story.
The same is true for Panthro, yet asain, WHY? WHY does he need a love interest? Although I did nearly wet myself at the tank reference it is absolutely spot on! To introduce a romance is to detract from the core of his character. He is a warrior, a general. Men like that are tough, stoic, an view displays of emotion as a weakness. They define themselves through their exploits in combat, their military service, their warrior code, not a relationship! His focus is on his duty, and his tank, not a girlfriend! Love and emotion softens the edge he needs to survive in the warriors role that he has chosen. To change the character to incorporate a love interest just for the sake of it would be criminal. He very well may have had a family in the past and lost them. That loss made him into the tough, hard arse we all know and love, if you’ll excuse the expression, and he refuses to find anyone else to honour the memory of his lost family. That in itself is romantic, without the need for some forced relationship.
Or should we take this romance nonsense to its logical conclusion and join the ranks of the screaming 13 year old lunatics arguing wether jake is better than edward and declaring what ‘camp’ they are in on banal t shirts? Why not have a love interest for Grune? How about Panthro? I’m sure there were some brokeback moments in the wilderness, right? Or I’m sure Addicus is a really big cuddly softy at heart and really just wants the right girl to understand him, how about Willa or maybe he’s waiting for kit? Or maybe Kaynar fell for Cheetara when she was being held captive, is there another love triangle brewing? Hmmm? Keep it for the fan fic people, Thundercats is an epic action adventure, it has enough romance in it already without forcing any new relationships into it. Let’s concentrate on the wealth of other stories that can be told now.
