I know what you mean, but even with their own forum, the twihard romance lovers, tired of their jacob/whatshisname musings and swoonings, will still infest every thread with screaming nonsense about every character pairing up with every other one! I mean there is even a liono/tygra incest fanfic!!! Grr! I’m dreading it if the warrior maidens come into it and we get a preview, it will start all over again with ‘oh lionO has to love willa’ or some such nonsense.

But yet again i agree (even thought i started all this). What if i lift this as a question instead of a statement?
Can’t you people who does nothing else then pair up people, make a thread where we can post about potential future love interests? We are kinda off-topic right now as this thread is about Lion-o, Cheetara and Tygra? I would love to join in the brainstorming.

Personally, i think its rather sad that everyone seems to be okay with Lion-O not only being alone, but with him suffering from a severe case of heartbreak. Don’t get me wrong, heartbreak can be interesting plot device, but only when it’s resolved thanks to someone or something. If Lion-O’s doomed to be alone, fine, but if that is the case, then can it at least be established that his problems with Tygra and Cheetara’s romance are over and done (at least say that after the Trials, Lion-O’s problem with them are now of little concern to him). I’d hate to see the Love Triangle thing echo throughout the series, especially after what happened in “New Alliance”. I say this not just as hopeful fan of a Lion-O/Pumyra romance, but also as someone who thinks Lion-O’s getting the raw deal in the series.
P.S. It seems to me that if Pumyra is going “have a few episodes revolving around her”, then making her a member of the team would seem like the logical course of action.
Come on guys!! Lion O deserves to get some nooky too! Otherwise he’s going to end up like Tin Tin living alone and talking to his pet cat Snarf… Do you really want that for his character? I mean..who would even want that for themselves? Am I the only one who wants Snarf to die!!!..wait a minute what was this about?.. oh yeah..LOVE.. LOL ..sorry ..anyways…
The same goes for Panthro btw..The man must have had a family or something going on right? Lets hope they don’t neglect him.
Don’t be afraid of Love in a Story…but be afraid of Love when it takes over the story like Twilight..which took a subject matter that should’ve only been less than a quarter of the story and made it 100% of the story. That’s bad..and that’s NOT Thundercats..and giving Lion O a love interest isn’t going to make it Twilight.
Avatar The Last Airbender is a great example of a show that juggled several love stories and did it in a way..where it served as growth for the characters..and was always shown in minor ways..that didn’t overwhelm the episodes ..it never distracted from the main story…it had action, martial arts , death, betrayal, romance and adventure. It was EPIC!!..and the same goes for thundercats. You can have a zillion romances in the show…it just depends on the execution.
I say give Lion O his love interest..but do it in a way where the two characters really don’t “get” together until the last episode when it’s revealed “she” is his queen. In the mean time..keep fans entertained with short funny moments of tension between them and sometimes treat us to some short sweet moments between the two characters..That’s all the fans really need.
I think that Cheetara and Tygra will have the biggest most stable romance in the series. Lion O on the other hand may have a more rocky path with his significant other..who knows maybe he’ll fall in love more than once with other characters before he gets some sense knocked into him and settles down with Pumyra…I mean his Queen LOL…Yeah I said it …Pumyra…that’s whom i’m putting my money on.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I could not agree with you more. I think it’s stupid how everyone practically wants him to be Tin Tin (good reference by the way). Many shows have the multiple romance thing, so why not ThunderCats?

another problem is when you talk about the relationship in this show you talk about in a way like it’s gonna happen instantaneously. That’s why it’s boring and annoying to see anyone mention this at all, at least come up with some sort of backstory as to WHY lion-o would hook up with (for us) a total stranger so you have something to discuss about. I don’t think Friends is a great example for “relationships”. Sitcoms are fueled by relationships/misunderstandings..where characters go in and out of their relationships multiple times and finally get together in the end. Thundercats is an epic story and not a sitcom.
I agree with you I wouldn’t want to see Lion O go into a relationship full blast the moment he see’s “pumyra”..heck no..that would be odd and not make sense, he’s just getting over a heart break after all. But with that said I would like to see a gradual relationship form for Lion O with a significant other (Pumyra or OC) throughout the series.
Cheetara and Tygra’s relationship is going to be further explored in future episodes for sure. And theirs is a completely separate deal from Lion O (that’s assuming the love triangle is done..which I think and hope it is since that whole thing was really more about Tygra and Liono’s rivalry as bros).

I would like more options for Lion-o. We dont even know what Pumyra looks like and they are still trying to get Lion-o to be with her. Come on now? That’s like you want some randoms sister to marry this “George” from somewhere you dont know, you also dont know who he is, what he do and the list goes on.
I yet again want the creators to make their own Thundercat, maybe as a love interest, maybe not. Would be fun to see what they can come up with. If we take the new villains for example they are totally different from their original counterparts which would seem it should not be THAT hard for them to make a new original character.
When I put “everyone” on my last post, it was kind of an over-exaggeration. It’s mainly a lot of people NOT on this site that think Lion-O shouldn’t be with anyone. It would definitely be cool to have Lion-O hook up with a new ThunderCat, but we’d probably have to wait until next season (or maybe even the last episode) to see her. All I can say is what others have said 100 times. I definitely WOULD like Lion-O and Pumyra to have a relationship, whether it’s just friends or romantic, but it absolutely should not be rushed. Considering how good the writing usually is on this show, I don’t think we’ll have a problem there.
As for the “We don’t know what Pumyra looks like” thing…we sort of do. I mean, we have her from the OS to back up on. I am not saying I disagree with you, because you do have a very valid point. However, there isn’t going to be a drastic change in her appearance because most other characters weren’t completely 100% redesigned. At this point, I’m actually excited to see how cool they can make her look.
To be honest I didn’t get your point on the Friends thing…so I had to make my best judgement. Still the shows you mentioned are very different from epic fantasy of thundercats…different flow in storytelling.

Anyhow…while I’m a big fan of Pumyra and Lion O getting together..i’ll be a fan of any new/other character that comes along to melt the young kings heart..just as long as it makes sense to the story and to the characters story.
But what i think we are all in agreement with here is that Pumyra’s character should be given her due in the NS..she needs some “justicia”..She needs to actually be a relevant character with a purpose and a story.. instead of just being an extra “silent” member of the group that was just put there to sell toys. JUSTICE FOR PUMYRA!!!
They are similiar and you coudl clearly see who was who, but it’s still hard to say how she will look like. Lion-O in this show is very different from the original one.. Everyone is infact. Well, you probably understand what i mean hopefully 
In those shows they have lots of different girls mostly all the time. I guess How i meet your mother would be the perfect example. They just run around talking about new boys/girls all the time without thinking like most people HAVE done about Lion-o they just say: “He needs a girl” for no reasons what so ever, why does he? I and most others know that NOW, but back then people just said he should have one. That’s why this discussion started and this thread got created aswell. Instead of just syaing he should have one, state why and let’s get some fun talk out of it.
Yup Pumyra need to sink in, we also dont even know if she’s just gonna be a queststar or be one of the maincast. Just look at what little we saw of Lynx-o, we wont get THAT little but might as well just be one episode only.
yeah, but you could definitely tell some were not quite as redesigned as others, such as Slithe, Cheetara, and Mumm-Ra (at least when he doesn’t have the wings).
By that statement, do you think Pumyra will “look the same”, or get a “2011/2012 redesign”? I think she will get a new one. Looking more.. I dunno, less 80’s.
What if Pumyra has a tail? I wonder how that would go over, not only with the fans, but in the context of the show (especially if she’s tapped as Lion-O’s love interest).

I for one think that it would be great to address the whole tail thing…a utopia isn’t a utopia if there is a caste system thats oppressing a certain group of cats, just because they don’t want to chop off their tails.
Perhaps Pumyra’s character will address the need for social change in thundera…or the New Thundera.
Probably that she has good balance (?). Idk, it’s kind of a cool idea, but we’ll just wait and see. BACK ON SUBJECT!
Yeah, I do hope it’ll be less mullet-like. The hair style on that very professionally-made fan-design that someone made that I posted a week and half ago is more-or-less what they should go for.
