Nah, it would only be redundant if Snarfer was like Snarf. I can picture him as the more competant sidekick or straightman of Snarf when he gets into trouble. I.E. Snarf does something stupid/funny while Snarfer watches and then does it correctly.
Then that would also completely change his character from the OS. Not that Snarf wasn’t changed, but still.

There’s been a ton of speculation about Pumyra, but not enough about Bengali so I’m throwing my hat in:
First of all he should be big, maybe not Panthro big, but more muscular than Tygra and Lion-O, He should also still be a blacksmith, so yeah, just a big brawny guy swinging his hammer around. I like the idea of Lynx-O, Bengali, and Pumyra being from the middle-class. We’ve seen the nobles and the poor but not a lot in-between so they should be “regular” folks before being thrust into the war.
As for his character he should be a happy guy, a perpetual smiler who enjoys life, even when forced to fight for his own. The kind of guy you want to go to the bar with and possibly start a rowdy fight/party.
I would love the trio to actually be related this time around as they formed a tight family dynamic in the original show and he should be rather protective of Pumyra, casually threatening to break Lion-O’s legs if he ever hurts her.
So yeah, a big, brawny, happy dude who will snap you in two if you mess with his little sister.
Since we have new episode descriptions, one of which reveals Pumyra’s debut, I think we have more to speculate.
All we know is that Pumyra is forced to be a gladiator. I believe that this implies that Pumyra will be a strong fighter, in contrast to predictions of her being a healer and girly. She could still be a girly girl medic, but it doesn’t seem likely now. if Pumyra can fight in the arena, she could be more of a tomboy than Cheetara.
Of course, there is a chance that Pumyra was only just captured, and isn’t a hardened fighter. I would have liked to to have been the medic and delicate girl to contrast with Cheetara, but I think I’ll be okay with her being more of an Amazon warrior, like the Warrior Maidens from the OS. If she’s like that then she could still have a strong connection to nature and medicinal herbs and things like that.
Now for Bengali, I think it’s possible that he could be introduced as a member of the lost Tiger village. Being the only other prominent Tiger character, I think that’s the best place he would show up.
Oh? Where did you find the descriptions? I’d like to see them. If she’s now a gladiator, she can be one who patches up her fellow gladiators to get them in shape so they – and she – can be sent back out to fight in the arena. Just a thought on my part.

“Trials of Lion-O, Part 2”: It looks like Balgus was right about this being a “Lion-O saves the rest of the ThunderCats” story. 
“Native Son”: What secrets does this Tiger clan village hold? Maybe Bengali for one? 
“Survival of the Fittest”: Do I sense Safari Joe making an appearance in this episode?
“The Pit”: Well, it looks like I was right about Pumyra escaping the fall of Thundera. I just didn’t know she’d end up a gladiator. And in a City of Dogs? Hello, the Windstorm “Dogs of War” comic?
I didn’t even consider Safari Joe for the thing that’s hunting the kids…good theory.
It might be the Conquedor making a return, but he’s not really a hunter.
It would be nice if it was Safari Joe, but I think he’d be way out of place at this point in the series. Maybe if they made him something like the Duelist it could work.
Maybe at the end of “The Pit” Lion-O will get a chance to see Pumyra in something other than her gladiator gear and be dumbstruck at how pretty she is. That would be funny.
Personally I think the Konqedor IS Safari Joe…or maybe will become him somehow. Every time I’ve asked anyone on the crew about the similarities they kinda dodged the question.
Didn’t think of Safari Joe in “Survival of the Fittest”, but I like it. I’m hoping for it now!
Pumyra was the least developed character in the OS and the only Thundercat who appeared in very few episodes, I’d certainly like to see more of her, i liked a lot Lynx-o’s design in his short appearance in the first episode so i think Pumyra will be cool too.
