I know there’s already a thread for Pumyra, but I thought that it would be good if we had a thread for all of the season 2 ThunderCats. We know that Lynx-O’s in, but we don’t know much except that he is/was a general. One important thing I’m considering about Pumyra and Bengali is how their color palette may be different. I’ll give my predictions for each.
- Bengali: I’m hoping that he stays a blacksmith, but maybe he could use a bigger hammer. I liked the design of his old hammer a lot though. Since Lion-O is already wearing blue, I think that 2011 Bengali should wear mostly black. It would look good on his white fur and black stripes.
As for his age, I’m not so sure. I first thought that he should be a little younger than Lion-O, so he could be more hot headed than even him, but if he’s going to be a master blacksmith, he should probably be more around Cheetara’s age. Bengali could possibly be an apprentice Blacksmith and inherited his Hammer of Thundera, which has some magical properties. Maybe the hammer could have similar origins to the Sword of Omens, and it’s a family heirloom. Anyway, he should keep his short temper, since that was his most prominent characteristic in the original.
- Pumyra: I want to see Pumyra be the girly girl to Cheetara’s tomboy, and overall be the most feminine ThunderCat. She can still fight of course, but does it at a range, using her leaping to gain height and distance so she can attack with her sling using various kinds of ammo. Pumyra should be a healer/medic, using herbalism and natural medicines. She used a little of it in the original, but not nearly enough. These skills would fit her having a less confrontational personality than the others. Granted, Cheetara already seems to be rather kind of gentle so far, but she’s still Ms. Fanservice. Pumyra can she the shy girl, and probably had a very normal, uneventful life before the start of the series.
As for Pumyra’s outfit, I think it could stay fairly close to the original. Her hair could use some modifying, so long as she keeps the white stripe and the white tips. Her original facial features actually look like the kind the 2011 designs use. The only big change I would make is in her clothes color palette. Dark brown may be a little too bland, though it does give her a down to earth look. The alternative colors I’d use are white/gray and purple. They would help make her look more unique compared to the others, in a similar fashion to how Tygra and Panthro got recolors to differentiate them from Lion-O’s blue and gray outfit. Those colors might also make her actually look a bit like a nurse.
- Lynx-O: Since we already know his look, I’ll stick to his personality. I think Lynx-O had the best characterization out of the three in the original series, so they should stick close to that. Play up that he’s an old blind zen master of martial arts and that would be awesome. He’s definitely going to have a bit of history with Panthro, and I’m guessing he’s older than him as well.
