Just like those type of people shouldn’t adopt animals, they shouldn’t adopt kids either. I’m still open to anything. Just leaning towards Lion-O’s mother being a cold piece.

I never felt like Claudus’ loved Tygra more. He just wanted Lion-O to be more responsible, like his older brother. Which is very common. Like you said, it is wrong of her to do so. Biological or not, an adopted child is just as much your child as the ones who come from your body. Switching it up when the new kid comes along is cruel.

Anyone else notice the little crown on Tygra’s head dissolve as Claudus and the queen walked away? Symbolism much??
And wow I just want to cuddle baby Tygra and toddler Tygra, what a cutiepie, looks like he was once the apple of his adoptive mother’s eye.
I saw that and thought it was a nice touch.
No one does i think. I for one dont understand the love for Bengali at all. Who knows what he will look like? Will he even appear? I only want them to make a NEW Thundercat.
And what happend to Lynx-o? He was at the heart of the fight when Mumm-Ra destroyed Thundera. That old blind guy, can he even fight let alone get away saftely? All depends on how long he was blind, maybe he is like all the other blind folk who can still “see” even though they are blind. Daredevil ftw!
I saw him as the Tygra replacement in the OS…the Poochie or Scrappy Doo of Tigers (Snarfer was definitely one). I didn’t care for him at all.
However, since he was an OS character and everyone is being revamped, I would like to see the new version.
I think it’d be neat to only see him briefly in this ep and then an ep or two later he shows up after trailing the group.
Everyone just slow down a sec here. I highly doubt their mom would be so cold as to stop loving Tygra or to love Lion-O more once he was born. I’m sure both parents loved both their kids equally. The mom is clearly sad when she stops herself from calling Tygra prince, because she knows that he’s no longer going to be the crown prince. Tygra would be crown prince if not for tradition, and his mom is saddened by that. Where are all of you getting the idea that she’s reserving her love for her new child? Their mom just feels bad that fate’s been cruel to Tygra.
Watch it closely. As soon as she’s about to call him prince, you can see the realization hit her; Tygra’s no longer the crown prince. Their mom probably felt guilty about dashing Tygra’s dream of being king one day.
Up until the announcement, Tygra was her little prince. As soon as she get a biological child it changes. I’m not sold, but it’s suspicious. Even if he isnt the crown prince, he’s still a prince. So it’s strange that she changed her pet name for him.
I absolutely agree. I think she was saying it more for herself…that her beloved little handsome prince could not grow up to be king. Unfortunately she corrected herself in a way with Tygra that opens the floodgates to sibling rivalry. He’s still a prince, she should have continued to use that.
There are also law to consider, no matter how much they love an adopted son a blood heir is always first in line and Kings are bound by their own laws.
There could also be more to it than what’s shown in the previews. The characters have mentioned that the sword chose Lion-O as the next king, maybe we’ll get to see the ceremony where the both of them are judged by it and one is deemed more worthy than the other.
this is how I took the scene as well. She still calls him her little Darling, she just stopped calling him Prince. She probably was a little confused as to what to say since they now have a blood heir.

Look, just look at the queen’s gestures. She’s smiling the whole time right up until she almost calls him prince, and then she frowns, stops herself, looks sad, and calls him darling. Tygra might have figured out that something was wrong before she did. I believe she would have hugged or embraced him or something before she realized he wasn’t the crown prince.
There’s also the chance that maybe the queen wouldn’t be allowed to keep Tygra as her son once she gives birth to Lion-O. The inner workings of royalty can be cruel, and even if the queen loves Tygra, the Thundera nobility may not like the idea of having an “unnecessary” prince hanging around.
And come one, look at her eyebrows when she calls him darling. They are turned up. That combined with a frown is the facial expression for sadness. How can anyone not recognize that she is feeling bad about this? She cares about Tygra and doesn’t want to hurt him, but life is cruel sometimes.
He’s not unnecessary. Kings wanted lots of sons to secure their lineage. If something happens to the heir, his younger brother would be their to ensure the kings line is carried on.
She did look sad. I dint see that the first time around. S yea, maybe she is preparing him for the harsh reality. Still, she could have handled it better:eek:
The Queen changed the way she interacted and spoke with Tygra clearly whether to prepare Tygra or not still accomplished making him feel different, and I myself don’t believe she ever stopped loving him just that things shifted for Tygra to where he felt replaced. I’m just saying what I’m sure Tygra believed, the world is VERY black and white for kids at 3 years old, the Queen didn’t have to refrain from calling him her little prince, Lion-O was going to be a prince as well and THEN king and that would STILL make Tygra a prince, Lion-O being king doesn’t make him no longer a prince, perhaps if she called him her little king I could see that hesitation. A fair (she was definitely loving but not at all fair) mother would have explained as best she could that Tygra was still her little prince but how much Lion-O was going to need his big strong older brother to help him become a great king. Excellent mothers know just how to make their other children feel just as valued when one has a certain priviledge/special conditions and the other does not, by “lifting” the other up as a powerful guardian/helper they are proud of and will always give praises to for protecting the other. Instead she simply walked away when it would have been a good time to make Tygra a part of the process and maybe even LOVE being the big brother BECAUSE he was a champion/guardian of their family, she could have made him understand he is just as important and perhaps more so if he’s keeping Lion-O safe.
I REALLY believe the root of the conflict wasn’t Tygra wasn’t prepared for not being king but that along the way he equated his worth to the idea of that title because once again for children everything is black and white. Meaning he’d probably been told or alluded to being a “king/prince” (whether of his mother’s heart, Thundera, his place in the family) whether as a term of affection or planned title, to have it “taken” as both a name in affection or title and “given” to someone new is crushing and not something they can understand. The only conclusion you can expect from a child that young if you don’t explain it is he notices his mother no longer calls him by that nickname anymore reserving it for the baby and doesn’t spend as much time with him as she once did and all her time is devoted to waiting for the baby, which are all normal things but if parents don’t STOP slow down and make the one already there feel just as special the child is drawing his own conclusions that may follow him forever.
So like I said sure she loved Tygra but it sounds like she set a pattern of bad parenting choices.
I have to admit that these previews not only make this series even better, but I’m DEFINITELY excited for tomorrow’s premiere! As stated previously, Baby Tygra is just adorable!! Although, I also think this is the very first time we’ve ever gotten a glimpse of the Queen. There’s just so many questions as to what happened to her. As some speculated, the Queen probably died shortly after Lion-O was born. I refuse to believe that the Queen died during Lion-O’s birth, and would rather think that she died from an illness or by some other means.
I won’t jump into conclusions as to how she treated Tygra when she was expecting Lion-O, but it was pretty emotional, seeing the young prince feel abandoned, and I couldn’t help but feel for Tygra. Additionally, I did notice Tygra’s little crown dissolve at the end of the scene and I do agree, it was quite symbolic.
However, seeing as how Tygra showed up in Thundera raises a lot of questions. What inspired the Tiger Clan, and Tygra’s father to give up his son and have Tygra live among the ThunderCat Nobles? Furthermore, the scene where Lion-O and Tygra meeting Caspin and the other tigers has me wondering what Tygra’s biological father is like and whether we’ll be seeing Bengali at all.
Somebody mentioned the tigers having the same colorination and patterns, but I’d like to believe that the Tiger Clan Nobles are the only ones who share the same coloration, meaning that there’s a possibility that Bengali might be a lighter shade, and probably a lower-class blacksmith (possibly with a tail, much like Wily Kat and Kit) of the Tiger Clan. This also has me wondering if Bengali is Tygra’s father in this series. If so, that’d be quite an interesting twist on things, considering that in the original series, Tygra considered Bengali his brother. Whatever the case, tomorrow’s episode looks very good, and possibly the best looking one thus far and I cannot wait to see it.
Does anyone think that maybe calling him a Prince was just an affectionate gesture, instead of it always being taken so literally? My mom used to call me and my sister Princess but stopped when we got old enough.
I believe that the adult Tiger that Tygra is talking to in the preview pics is likely his father. Said father appears to be conversing with the Ancient Spirits of Evil in another pic.
Caspin had a darker head of hair than the others.
I wonder if Tygra’s bracelet was his mother’s. It was in the basket.
