Ideal’s post about Lion-o seemed that way to me.
If I’m looking at the right post his point of view is completely understandable given how Lion-O is currently being portrayed in the show. I don’t see how you took it as hateful.

I’m not sure what hate you’re talking about. This is the Love Triangles thread, and some of us like one pairing over the other, which means we rationalize the character’s differently based on our own interpretations and biases.
If you feel someone is being overly rude you can say something, after all we’re all here to have fun.
Same–I’ve got a soft spot for childhood friend relationships.
Tygra is still at that age where guys are dominated by lust you know. He’s 19/20. Not trying to say Tygra’s feelings are shallow or anything but at that age, physical attraction is a major part of relationships for all guys.
Everyone is dominated by lust at that age. We cant keep beating the men for it, girls are guilty too;)

The thought of reading through this entire thread is daunting so forgive me if I rehash something that has already been discussed. I’m usually not one for shipping, but I’ll share my thoughts on each perspective match.
I’ve seen a few comments that say Lion-O may not have feelings for Cheetara and he’s just pursuing her to show up his older brother. I actually agreed with this, but after thinking back over the Book One episodes their potential relationship actually makes some sense. As we saw in the premiere Claudus felt his son was immature and didn’t take his position seriously and Tygra is constantly riding him about whatever. For Lion-O Cheetara may be the first person in his life to actually believe in him and that is something that could certainly fuel romantic interest in her.
As for Tygra I think “Into the Astral Plane” set up the basis for his interest in Cheetara quite well and the thing that sticks in my mind is the image of the crushed orchid. Tygra is overconfident and seems like the kind of person that ensures he gets what he wants, but perhaps he is haunted by the idea of what could have been if he wasn’t so insecure at a young age and actually had the nerve to talk to Cheetara.
TL;DR - Each character, in my opinion, does have a legitimate reason to be interested in Cheetara. I don’t think there is enough evidence on either side to determine who she is more interested in, but that would mean giving Lion-O less screen time.
That’s what had been bothering me. I just can’t see either of the brothers doing this. Neither of them strike me as that shallow and mean. Tygra relies on insults to hide insecurities and Lion-o does a lesser version, and mostly uses anger. I truly believe they are both deeply in love with Cheetara.
I’m pretty sure she is. Lion-o mentions how everyone calls him crazy, but she says he’s different. She might actually have been his first friend.

to clarify, i never said that Lion-O doesnt have feelings for Cheetara, only that any feelings he has for her are not his motivating factor right now.
and as for me spreading all kinds of hate about Lion-O or whatever, lets face it, Lion-O is basically still a whiny kid trying to get respect simply for having the Sword. he hasnt really earned the respect he is demanding. and that makes Lion-O more than a bit unlikeable at times
and isnt this show supposed to be about Lion-O maturing and becoming the king he is meant to be? what would the point of all that be if he is already a perfectly round, well respected leader? they wrote him to be the semi-unlikeable brat so that he can evolve. he has to get knocked down a few pegs to see that his behavior in certain situations is not proper, so he can learn to behave like a true leader should
im sorry if me pointing things like this out is upsetting people, i assumed everyone wanted to see Lion-O evolve into a king. maybe the show should have just been about Claudus so we wouldnt have to worry about it.
My 2 cents on the Love Triangle. I would be shocked it didn’t end up Tygra/Cheetara. Just the way the creators are portraying it leans heavily toward them ending up together. Tygra’s feelings for Cheetara are the only real emotion in the triangle.
We don’t know how Cheetara really feels about Lion-O. The creators already threw a monkey wrench into things by saying that Lion-O might be misinterpreting her affections. They come off as very motherly or perhaps sisterly. Lion-O on the other hand seems more infatuated by Cheetara. He is a teenage boy. I see no evidence of any connection or love between them. To Lion-O she is a conquest. While Tygra seems to love her. Cheetara’s feelings for Tygra hold the key. She clearly does not notice his feelings for her. And Tygra’s goal is to finally be acknowledged by her. Tygra’s goals are much more identifiable for the audience. Which generally means they are more likely to happen than Lion-O “winning” her in some lame competition.
Tygra/Cheetara has the backstory and potential for development. The writers have gone out of their way to portray Tygra as sympathetic with Cheetara. I just can’t see them trampling on Tygra’s feelings at this point. Not when you set up the audience to root for him and Cheetara. Lion-O/Cheetara really doesn’t have much of a story. Young guy notices hot girl. Unless you count Cheetara continuing her role as Lion-O cheerleader and telling him to believe in himself. Which has already been overused and played out.
What I can see them doing, if it is Tygra/Cheetara, is having Lion-O have multiple love interests over the course of the series with one emerging at the end. Which is frankly more believable for a guy that young and inexperienced. It can be Pumyra or whoever. Wasn’t there an amazon woman from the OS that liked Lion-O? I am sure she will show up.
It is also better for the storytelling. The series loves to teach life lessons to Lion-O. So let him have a few girlfriends and broken hearts.
I really hate the term “consolation prize” when it is applied to love interests.
if any of you, in real life, broke up/ got turned down by someone and then afterwards fell in love with someone new would you consider your new love a consolation prize?

And of course not. Some of the best relationships are like that. Well, in movies and tv anyway. First woman leaves and you fall in love with someone new and end up happier by far with that one.
thats why im hoping that Pumyra shows up BEFORE the triangle is settled, so that Lion-O has a chance to move on from the Cheetara competition of his own accord. that way it doesnt seem like anyone “won” Cheetara, and as a result, there is no “consolation prize”
Yeah, they did at that, but then again, we did get Cheetarah kissing him on the cheek right before saying she said she believes in him. I find that kind of hard to misinterpret if a woman is interested in or not especially if said guy is pretty obvious that he likes her like Lion-O is.
You’re kidding right? A woman can kiss someone on the cheek without it meaning shes attracted to them. If it was on the lips sure, but the cheek. It’s more a sign of affection towards a friend and to reassure him.
Bold 1# While I agree it would be shocking at them not ending up together I dont believe it’d be impossible for a different outcome much as I hate to admit it. Unrequinted love is showing up more and more in animation sometimes its used forever to fuel a wildness and fire to a certain character, it can make them even more desirable and/or more sympathetic, the handsome rogue that’s so bad he’s good and often gets away with things other characters do not because we as an audience know the motivation is a matter of the heart and we have complete faith in him. The writers even promised us things were going to be darker in the series this time around so its entirely possible much as it would sadden me.
Bold 2# Definitely takes two to tango and we aren’t sure yet if Cheetara sees Tygra in that way or if she will begin to. My gut feelings tell me she hasn’t yet and while Tygra seems to be important to her she seems completely oblivious to Tygra’s love for her. We will probably begin to see even larger changes in Tygra that will get Cheetara looking and maybe even doing some pursuing of her own! But I don’t think we are going to find out anything about Cheetara’s feelings for Tygra in that way UNTIL Tygra begins to have a lot of growth as a character, we were purposefully shown Tygra at his most competetive and arrogant in the premiere to show Tygra too is going to have to get some perpective and that he too is going to have to let go of some things and earn Cheetara.
Here’s an interesting twist; the new female is someone who was betrothed to Lion-O since she was a cub. She also holds one of the Stones of Power as part of her dowry. Lion-O will be in a dilemma between tradition and following his heart. :sneaky:
Lol. And what’s to stop the betrothed from just lending the stone to Lion-O and let him be with the woman he loves?
Also, if another cat had the a stone of power then how did it stay away from the royal family for so long?
My theory is Tygra hasn’t say a word ever about his feeling for Cheetara because he feels rejection.
I’ve sad this nd I’ll say it again: adopted kids usually fear rejection. They think/feel they were rejected by their parents (especially if tehy were adopted in an early age), because they can’t fully understand why tehy did’t keep him/her, even when the reason was death. So I think Tygra is afraid of a big “No” from Cheetara because it would sound to him as a “I don’t love you either”.
Now, I have found the perfect Cheetygra song, if someone wants to make a video (I’m really limited when it comes to that stuff, but you can ask me, I have the images matching the lyrics in my head lol)… it’s kinda cheesy, but fits very well what we saw the last ep
