Love Triangles

Definitely not going to get a resolution this early not when they all could use so much more development. I cant see Cheetara making that decision right now I dont think shed find a relationship a priority at the moment especially with the mission and present danger I really think time and tugging of her heart strings will eventually beckon her to one of them though. I also wondered if Tygra and Cheetara did have a previous romantic relationship there must be a reason they arent together now and perhaps emotional baggage is involved somehow thats causing hesitation, theres got to be a reason theyve never mentioned it before. Btw that scene of them sharing an identical worried look at Lionos behavior in Ramlak Rising, to Cheetara scolding Tygra for his lack of faith in Liono to them sleeping together in Berbils just screamed familiarity, I totally knew there was something we didnt know about them.

Well, let’s do a thought experiment. Let’s say that back in the day Tygra and Cheetara had a bit of a fling and Tygra didn’t take it seriously but Cheetara did and was a bit hurt from it. Now Tygra sees he let “the one” get away. If this is the case now, does he have a shot at getting her back or will they pull the tragedy card for Tygra and have it be a permanent tough life lesson?

Ive read the Wildstorm comics and remember Cheetara being involved with Panthro before finding love with Tygra, she and Tygra even ended up with two striped and spotted thunderkittens of their own. We know the new show likes to give nods to previous continuity but at the same time they like to make their own (always good to not be predictable). I really doubt Panthro will end up with anything but a paternal xonnection to Cheetara this time around theyve already set it up that way from his comment in old friends something about “you kids are lucky to have survived as long as you had without adult supervision” (something like that) and just like that Panthros role to Cheetara and the others is pretty much set in stone, some shiftong of seeing them as responsible adult will occur but I think romancing Cheetara is too much a stretch this time around.

Cannot wait to see whos predictions are more accurate!! Exciting week!!

For the thought experiment:

I would love to see more tough life lessons having to be dealt with. In the vein of a missed chance at a true connection with Tygra and Cheetara. I would imagine that at one point or another the two will argue and it will not be about what they are talking about. If they do go this route I would love to see a resolution. They both come to terms and grow because of it. The two of them could go through this pretty subtly without getting in the way of the main story line. They seem to be doin alright they did keep close during the berbil ep.

For the love square:

I’ll admit it’s a far cry from what’s been discussed previously. But Cheetara did playfully chide Panthro during the race in sight beyond sight.
Panthro did inadvertently admit to Cheetaras’ attractiveness by calling Tygra out on an open jaw during the tower of omens fight with Mumm-Ra.

Going with the thought that Tygra and Cheetara did have a relationship at some point and it ended; what if Cheetara broke things off with Tygra because she couldn’t get behind his lack of obvious support for the future king? That would put her comment to him about how it wouldn’t hurt if he believed in Lion-O too in Journey to the Tower of Omens in a very different light.

Do you think the writer’s are leaning towards having Cheetara eventually end up with Lion-o or Tygra, if you had to guess?

I have a feeling it’s going to be Lion-O, partly because he’s “the hero” and partly because I think they’re going to spend some time breaking Tygra to push him closer to that darkness they talk about.

Then again, maybe Cheetara will go with Tygra and Lion-O will learn some lesson about how being king doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get the girl, or something.

But I still hope that Cheetara will go with neither of them in the end.

Problem is do we think Lion-O thinks being king automatically means he gets the girl? The Forest of the Magi episode where Lion-O pretty much acknowledged Tygra’s feelings towards Cheetara and verbalized the competition that was already happening indicates that Lion-O doesn’t think that at all.

Hence “or something”. The show seems to be all about teaching Lion-O lessons, so if he doesn’t get Cheetara, I’m assuming it’s going to be so he can learn some new lesson that will make him grow as a person. The lesson could just as well be “nice guys never get the girl” or “jealousy is not attractive” or “slipping up and letting a girl know that you and your brother are competing over who will ‘win’ her while your brother acts like he’s not competing over her at all will not get you the girl”. Or “grown women do not see froogs as romantic gifts”.

I worry that if they compete over her and Tygra loses out, it could form a pretty significant permanent rift between him and Lion-o. Or vice versa? Who would it be worse for to lose out? Who has more to gain? :liono

I think causing a rift between the brothers is the main purpose of the love triangle.

I’d say the one who loves Cheetara most has the most to gain and the most to lose. But there’s no real way for us to know who that is.

Not sure of that. In the permiere we saw Claudus telling Lion-o he was proud of him; we never saw Tygra recieving that compliment from their father.

As I see it, Claudus thought Tygra was better for the throne, but he might not have been proud of him as he could have been of Lion-o. Just because you think someone is better than someone else for a particular position, it doens’t mean you’re necessarily proud of that person, only that you’re objective. On the other hand, you can be really proud of someone because of his characteristics, but at the same time think that because of those same characteristics, that person doesn’t qualify for an specific position.

So, the fact that Claudus didn’t think Lion-o could be a good king doesn’t necessarily mean he wasn’t proud of him. And again, he never said such words to Tygra.

Even after “Song of the Petalars”, Tygra told Lion-o that Claudus would have been proud of him, even when Lion-o only did what he (Tygra) suggested from the beginning.

she definitely won’t end up with Panthro. In this show he’s a good 20+ years older than her. I can just see the kids watching go “ewwwwwwwww!”

It could also have been that Tygra was completely into the relationship and Cheetara wasn’t, either because she wanted to dedicete herself to her cleric training, because she didn’t love him enough, because she considered their love an impossible as he was a prince, etc. Why does it have to be Tygra the inmature one?

I know that what we’ve seen of him so far could give that impression, but Cheetara could have gotten scared of a serious relationship as well, after all, she’s just 19. And honestly, I don’t think we can call Tygra “immature” because of his constant bickering to his brother (every older brother does it) and his winking eye to Cheetara. Flirtatious doesn’t mean immature or beind a Don Juan.

I… didn’t say Tygra would be the immature one? I suggested that Tygra, then just as now, didn’t approve of Lion-O being king or didn’t support him enough for Cheetara’s tastes. And Cheetara, already a cleric or a cleric in training, got all “I don’t like that you don’t support your future king the way I do, so I don’t want you to be my boyfriend anymore!” and dumped him. Which would make Tygra the same person he is now, and make Cheetara someone who couldn’t see herself being with someone who didn’t share her devotion to the future king. So if anything, Cheetara would be the immature one, or they were simply not compatible as a romantic couple.

If Cheetara and Tygra had a past relationship, wouldn’t it be kinda messed up for her to be so flirtatious with Lion-O? They are brothers and the guy is right there watching it all. Seems kind of cold hearted if you ask me.

Or maybe she doesn’t realize she’s being flirtatious and just thinks she’s being a warm and supportive mentor?

I kinda doubt that “early relationship” actually means they used to date. I think they might be having a budding relationship right now, and it is revealed to Lion-O next episode.

I agree with this. I think she’s just being supportive and Lion-O is misinterpreting it. to quote thunder thursdays “Where Lion-O doesn’t believe in himself, Cheetara is the one person on the team who knows what he’s capable of and pushing him towards his ultimate place on king. And because of it, Lion-O interprets a lot of her interest as affection.”

Sorry. I didn’t mean you precisely. It’s just that I’ve seen several posts on different threads implying that Tygra is immature, which he not necessarily is, and I just took those 2 posts as an example
