The only interesting thing in that episode is Pumyra having a bigger role than usual.

Yes.
She’s a good character. I still don’t know why so many people didn’t like her all that much. I think she’s awesome and has an adorable design.

I always liked Pumyra…but I grew up only seeing her in 5 episodes.
I actually liked Pumyra. I only wish more was done with her.

It is very similar to Thulsa Doom’s standard/symbol from the Conan the Barbarian movie.

I haven’t read all the comics so am not sure if they ever explained the meaning of this symbol. But if I were to hazard a guess I’d say that it really doesn’t have any real meaning. We know that Mumm-Ra was an ancient Egyptian and snakes, particularly asps were quite common in Egyptian Mythology. So the designers probably just came up with a design that incorporates them. The two snake heads are also on Mumm-Ra’s helmet as well as forming the handle of the Sword of Plun-Darr.

You’'re right. Huh. it just seems weird. My guess was it was the symbol for the ancient spirits of evil. Like it was branded on him or something. But I’m weird like that. Your guess makes more sense than mine anyway.

Actually I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future a TCats comic/cartoon uses that exact same explanation for the symbol. The Ancient Spirits of Evil were all animals so it is quite possible that the two headed snake (another animal) would be their symbol.

Believe it or not it was because of Mumm-Ra’s symbol he was my first Thundercats toy I ever got. That night in Woolworths when I was getting a toy I seen the Thundercats logo on the package and the large red symbol on Mumm-Ra’s chest and 4-5 year old me automatically thought it was the Thundercats symbol making him a good guy. I am pretty sure I had not seen the ever living form of Mumm-Ra in the cartoon yet. I am assuming the Exodus-Berbils had aired on Going Live on Saturday mornings and that was all I had seen at that point so that is probably why I didn’t realise he was a bad guy. It’s odd I still remember that and seeing all the toys on the shelf that night…but, what is even more odd is that I didn’t automatically pick Lion-O. Shows how cool Mumm-Ra was.

Cool. Lol yes Mumm-Ra is the best character and his logo is actually cooler than the thundercats. When I first saw the cats symbol I mistook it for THIS guy.

In the UK there was some Japanese cartoons form the 70’s that actually had altered Transformers art work on the packages to help them sell. On a video Sci-Bots 2 they actually had a picture of Ravage and Megatron on the package.
I use to have the original toy of Ravage he was pretty cool.
Yeah he was. I wish they’d made a toy for him from his beast wars appearance because that was my very first exposure to the character that I can actually remember. Unless he was in the Gi episode “cosmic rust” which is the only G1 episode I actually can remember watching when I was like 4.
Now a transformers thundercats comic would be VERY interesting to read.

I don’t believe Ravage was in that particular G1 episode.
woooo! if I had the cash I would buy it. Then again if I had the cash I’d commission somebody to make an ACTUAL poseable show accurate version of Mumm Ra in both of his forms. I have seen a show accurate version of his ever living form but his mummy form is not poseable and not very show accurate. and no the reboot mumm ra doesn’t count because he’s basically a completely different person.

Yeah a more show accurate would have been cool. I only ever had one Beast Wars toy growing up. That was the last Transformer I got until I started collecting them again in 2002/3. I have Beast Wars downloaded but I need to get around to watching them.
With the upcoming Mattel figures you won’t need to commission anyone to make a cartoon accurate figure. Just don’t be in a hurry to get it. It seems there will be less than a dozen figures released each year.
