I didn’t see one here so I figured I’d make one. A thread to discuss each and every character in the show. Beit a ran, questions, or simply saying what you like or dislike about them. Doesn’t matter. If you feel like talking about somebody go right ahead.

Anyone know why out of the three new thundercats introduced in season 2 Pumyra was the least liked? I mean what was wrong with her? I like her more than cheetara. It wasn’t like she was useless, she did things. It’s not like she sat around on her butt all day and let everyone else get everything done. 
Plus her design is adorable.
I liked Pumyra. I liked all three of the new Thundercats equally. In fact Thundercats is one of those cartoons that actually had a solid team of characters. There was no one there that was useless or a third wheel so to speak.

I liked Pumyra very much! I think it just came down to the writers in that they found some characters more compelling to write for. Poor Tygra and Pumyra totally got the shaft as the series progressed.

Indeed and even though I have a lot of complaints about the reboot which I will not go into here, they at least gave pumyra a bigger role… even if they did turn her into a villain. >_>
I’m just glad pumyra and Tygra got a moment in the spotlight in part 4 of Return to Thundera. [SIZE=1]Even though Mumm-Ra should have totally won at the end of that 5 parter. [/SIZE]
I agree about the new series. Like it or not (I personally really like it) they definitely gave Pumyra and Tygra much more defined personalities!

Yes, for essentially being second in command they often portrayed him as week or susceptible.

Which is sad because he’s supposed to be a scientist and he’s got one of the best designs, though Panthro and Pumyra are my favorite good characters that are thundercats anyway.
I guess that’s why he’s going to be one of the main characters in the fanfiction I am writing along with Pumyra. Tygra I mean.

The writers did a good job making all the Thundercats interesting characters. I just wish some episodes had explored their history more instead of just briefly mentioning it.
Characters I dislike from the show are the Lunatacks. They were so boring and annoying. Well Chilla was cool (pun intended) I liked her well enough but the rest…I never understood their appeal. They came in as threats then after that 5 parter they just were not that much of a threat anymore.
I always liked Pumyra. I won’t say I liked her more than Cheetara, but I did like more than Bengali (that’s one character I wouldn’t have introduced).
And don’t make me start on Tygra. After some promising good episodes centered on him in the beginning, yes, he was reduced to the designated victim; couldn’t Cheetara or Panthro got the short end of the stick once ina while? Although he got to kind of save the day in “Out of Sight”. And then was misused and mistreatd in the second season, until the final humiliation of being left behing in Third Erath! I wouldn’t say he was portrayed as “weak”, like adssse says, but definitely susceptible. He was a character with a lot of potential (Head of Council, second in command, mind power and invisibility, scientist), but the writers didn’t know how to handle him, I guess.
Lunatacks… what a waste of characters!
The lunataks were boring, no wonder Mumm-Ra encased them in stone.
yes poor persecuted Tygra. and he wasn’t even in the series finale. Why in the world did they replace him with Bengali anyway? Bengali’s reason for being seemed to become pointless once they got to new thundera and they met Charr the blacksmith.
If anything, I’d have left the new TCs in Third Earth and take the original Nobles to New Thundera.
I never found a reason for Bengali, other than to be annoying, to be honest. He was a grown up and most of the time acted more childishly than Lion-O or even the kittens. If his job was to replace Tygra (because many fans could have found him boring -not me, of course- but writers felt the need to have a tiger in the show), then Bengali failed miserably IMO.
The finale should have had Tygra, Lumyra and even Jaga.
And now that we are in the characters’ thread, I have a question that always bothered me: where did Panthro keep the nunchaks?
I mean, we all know where all the TCs kept their weapons:

[li]Lion-O kept the SoO in the Claw Shield, which was somehow attached to his belt.[/li][li]Cheetara kept the staff in her left bracelet.[/li][li]The kittens had their laces at their belts, and also the bags containing the pellets they used. Same as Pumyra and her slingshot.[/li]
[li]Bengali also kept the hammer in his belt.[/li][li]Lynx-O has the light shield coming out of a bracelet in his right wrist.[/li][li]Tygra was a tricky one. He always used to take his hand at his back to reach for the bolowhip, so I always thought there was a secret pocket or something just where his ropes changed color at his back. The bolowhip turned small, so it was possible to be kept there.[/li][/ul]
But what about the nunchuks?! They didn’t contract like the bolowhip or the staff, neither Pantho had a chance to have secret pockets in his clothes like Tygra (I mean, where?), and even if he did, the nunchuks were too big to be kept there without being seen or noticed. So where???
well I liked bengali’s design since I like white tigers (they are beautiful) but he always seemed to be ticked off all the time and could have been written better. Wait.. Jaga wasn’t there in the finale? I thought he was. Poor jaga. I guess Obi-Wan out ghosted his usefulness. I just think that all the original cats should have been in the finale. It would have been a nice ending.. though to be honest the only part of season 4 I liked was the Return to Thundera 5 parter. Things got a little funky after that.
By the way I have to ask. was Mandora a robot?
a sfor panthro’s weapon I have a guess. maybe in his pants?
I don’t think Mandora was a robot, I always thought of her as a human with very high technology gadgets. If anything, she was a cyborg 
I guess that might be it. Who knows? I am curious now. Which character do you like the least? Like who do you wish never existed as you feel they were pointless or just annoying?
In the good guys side, Bengali and Snarfer (I kinda liked him sometimes, even more than Snarf, but too Snarfs was just too much); in the bad guys side, some Lunatacks, and maybe Mamutt sometimes.
so why do you not like mamutt? Is it because he sometimes makes mumm-ra not as much of a creep? I’m just curious.
I never cared much for Mummrana myself. On the bad guys it would probably be one of the seldom seen characters like the Demolisher.
