Even though I never liked Snarf that much, and hated his voice and bad jokes, I agree that the sow wouldn’t be the same without him.
IMO, it’s a good thing that he’s on it without the ability to speak.
He reminds me of Cheddar, one of my cats.

I hated him. I know what he stands for but seriously, we were children then and now we’re not. We don’t need him to serve in his former role. Since we are all adults. So I think the changes in him were necessary or else we’d never be able to stomach him…Or maybe that’s just me

Let me tell you all this, you don’t need to have the comic relief talk in order to be funny. I can name dozens of examples.
I would agree with that. I’m not fond of his redesign. I loved the original Snarf.
I’d just like to point out that We’re not the target audience anymore. They want to make us happy too, sure, But they want kids to watch. If everyone who watches the show are adults who watched it when they were kids then it will probably fail.

I disagree…I think we are the target audience and they are hoping to get a new audience as well. But they are betting on our nostalgia.

Ever been to a comic/anime con? I have. I hardly ever see children there. In fact there is almost NONE. College students and few high school students YES..But most are in their late teens or early twenties. After that it’s the 30 an over crowd (Why are there always strippers?).
When I got the images recolored and vectored…do you know everyone under 25…was like..who?

It was launched at an affair that we adults outnumber the young ones. The series was made darker. Snarf’s annoying ass can’t talk…I really don’t think that the primary target audience is children. It wouldn’t get this much fanfare until it aired if it was. See the youtube all the people that are excited to see it come back…most of them watched the series when they were younger–when it aired in the 80’s.
I really don’t believe they are the “target” audience. I believe it’s a little white lie because there is a stigma attached to adults watching cartoons in the western culture

The target audience is the original fanbase but they hope to get a newer younger audience as well. Because most of us grew up watching the cartoons our parents watched as children. Like scooby-doo and the Flintstones and looney toons. Because our parents turned to it for us when we were kids because of their nostalgia for it. Then we liked it and I turned to it for my children for the same reasons. I try to get them to watch all the shows I watched as kid when I introduced them to Cartoons
If I ever had the chance to attend one I’d bring my daughter. We’re a strange little family, though. 
I took my son to one a few years back…him and my nephew were the only children there. It was all adults and a few teenagers
Well even so, you got to bring in new viewers too. The way I see it, this is a chance to make Thundercats cool again for everyone. For too long the Cats laid dormant, on life support. In short, they want to please old fans and new ones.
That wouldn’t bother us any, but she’d be full of questions I couldn’t answer and chattering away.
Well, we all have fond memories of the show.
Of course they did all that at a convention that adults go to. I’ve never heard of any convention that was aimed at children.
Adult fans are the ones spreading the word. Adult fans are the ones initially excited.
But…
Kids generally dont look around on websites looking for the next cool cartoon. They don’t pounce after every little piece of new information like we do. They get excited after they’ve seen it or when it becomes popular at school.
Wait and see after the show launches and tell me how many bookbags, childrens t-shirts, notebooks, etc there are compared to how many adult items there will be.
Bet mine is one of those kids, but she’s already declaring she prefers the original.
Despite what we want to believe, we are not the target audience. Right now they are concerned with getting us info and making us happy, but when it comes to ratings and toy sales, It’s going to be all about the kids. Just go look at He-Man 2k2. They did everything they could leading up to the premier to sell it to us with the nostalgia for He-Man. In the end, it didn’t matter because kids weren’t buying it.
That’s another reason why I’d like it on Friday nights. There are already popular shows on at that time slot. There’s already an audience watching at that time who will see a “tonight on Cartoon Network” commercial and be like, “Hey that looks cool I’ll stick around after watching Ben 10.”
I completely agree with that. I’m hoping for a Friday night time slot as well.
