Yeah, again I really don’t understand the knee jerk reaction to Snarf here. He’s the closest in design to the original of any character we’ve seen so far. I mean I could understand people that didn’t like Snarf originally not liking him here, but I don’t get people that liked the original snarf hating this new design?
I might move Snarf up ahead of Lion-O in my design comparison since he seems to currently be the most controversial of the new designs we’ve seen.

I Think This Snarf Is Cool! I Cant Wait To See How Snarfer Looks 
I think the difference is that this new Snarf seems ‘lifeless’, it looks like a japanese rodent..now this does make sense since he will be almost silent in the new series. The old Snarf was full of life and comedic. So even if he does have the same colors, ears, and body it still comes off as a complete NEW Snarf.
Hmmmm…not me who’s “reaching”…the animation designers were the ones who were reaching on this one…IMO.
But hey…some like him, like you. That’s good. Me…I’m not in that group, but I will keep an open mind and see how the new show protrays him.
Think that’s what bothers me about this new version of Snarf. He does seem “lifeless”. Any personality seems lost under the generic pokeman veneer.
You can recognize him as a snarf, but not as good ol’ Osbert.

Am I the only one who thinks of Snarf as an astromech? Looks like you plug him in right behind the “****pit.”
I’m excited about our new silent nursemaid. I never minded Snarf too much, but for me the series took a bad step when they introduced Snarfer. I cringe at every line. I didn’t mind Eggbert and Oswald so much, but I can’t do anymore Snarfer. I am comforted in the fact that a new Snarfer in Thundercats 2011 will be unable to annoy me to the degree that the classic one did. I think Snarf deserves this devolved form just for being related to Snarfer.
And for the record, I’ll take Snarf over Orko anyday, though I always thought that the Thunderkittens could provide the necessary comedic antics if done properly.
Thats is the event when my feeling for this character turned from mild annoyance to the burning hatred of one thousand suns. I never finished reading this series because of Snarf’s dialog and I only casually picked up any further Wildstorm Thundercats comic after that.

He does look a bit of a pokemon and gremlin mix but lets cut him some slack.
We shouldn’t be so harsh with Snarf, the design isn’t that bad.
We’ve all been so stuck on the 80s representations and loved so much the characters’ designs that we can hardly appreciate anything brand new(i include myself on this).
Yeah, I think that’s what it boils down to. We gotta remember the primary target audience for the new stuff is kids. Pokemon was a huge cartoon series not so long ago, so I do feel they are striking the right balance with the designs to please as many people as possible. This kinda design style does sell toys at the end of the day! 
New Snarf is a hoot! He reminds me of a chubby tabby cat I use to have. Maybe he can’t talk, but the box depicts him a a capable driver of the T-Tank.
Not bad, let see if he is more like the old version Snarf (attitude and determination) in the cartoon.

If they wanted to make him more ‘Pet’ and less ‘side-kick’, then I think they nailed it. Cute design, faithful colour scheme, but I can understand those who are faithful to the old snarf. What I say to you few is tho…Your lucky he’s in it at all!
I don’t know, I don’t mind the new snarf design. It is more true to design. I see more of an elder Yoda type quality in the face (maybe?) Less comical and worrisome. But having him talk his own wierd language is going to be odd and take some getting used to.
It was odd not having cringer/Battle cat talk in the 200x he-man cartoon. I think it was a mistake to be honest for him not to talk, just the same for Snarf.
I am a big fan of the golden compass (the movie so far, and am listening to the audio books), and thought it was nice that the daemons and Ice Bears talked to them. It didn’t take anything away, it added alot actually.
As far as pokemon, I am not a fan and don’t find this Snarf design much like that. If it was that cutesy I would really have a problem.
I am glad to at least have snarf in the new WB tc line and toon.
I’m fine with this. He could be basically be the Momo of this new universe. And as for the fact that he can’t talk… good! I’m sorry to the fans of the original cartoon but come on, I don’t like Snarf. At all.
He’s annoying, the fact that he can’t talk is an improvement and better him talking in his own language like a Pokemon is better than him talking at all.
If he’s going to be anything like Momo, I more than welcome it. Momo’s interaction with the cast where hilarious, specially Sokka. Lol, Panthro or the kittens dealing with a Momo like Snarf would get a lot of laughs.
See? It can work. And you don’t need him to talk to be funny. Silence is golden, it can be. Look at Mr. Bean, aside from a few mumbles, he’s basically a silent character.
And let’s not forget, Tom & Jerry. They were silent and they were still a riot.
I always liked Snarf, I’ll miss having one that talks.
Snarf was the comic relief of the show, however aside from that in episodes like ‘Snard takes up the challenge’ and ‘Hair of the Dog’ he had a protagonist role. As a character he belongs to the love it or hate it category. I fall to the first. I can see why some fans don’t sympathize with and actually don’t mind him being mute in the 2011 Series but let’s don’t forget that he still was a Thundercats member…
I liked Snarf. He wasn’t nearly as annoying as some 80s cartoon sidekicks. But I don’t mind the change of him not speaking english. Lion-O still understands him. I’m just going to think of it as him speaking a language we just don’t understand.
