I honestly think she’ll be permanent. I mean, we’ve had episodes dedicated to one character multiple times. I think the “different take” on her is just going to be her personality and appearance.
So she’ll either be joining up for a few episodes before going off to do her own thing or she’ll be joining permanently but will only have a few episodes dedicated to her before she slides back into being a secondary character like the other thundercats in the ‘Lion-O’ show. :rolleyes:
Hopefully Vultureman will be one of the villain in an episode.
I think the latter will happen, but I don’t think all the other ThunderCats are in the background besides lion-o. We’ve had more episodes with Tygra’s backstory than Lion-O (even though they come together at one point)
What is a few episode 4 3 or just 2 ?
I’m thinking three-ish. I just really want her and the other 2 new ones be permanent. I can understand the fear of them overshadowing the other characters or just becoming background characters, but there’s one thing to remember. They are all traveling together, so everything they encounter usually involves all of them. Plus, they could especially help them fight against Mumm-Ra. It would be nice to see them start winning more battles against Slithe, Kaynar, and Addicus as well.
I just think they can’t handle that many characters. It’s hard enough for them to give everyone time and with a new character that’s gonna be even harder. I really hope she only gets one episode, if more? I dont mind but i dont like it either.
I think it can be handled. There are shows out there that can do it, and I think it can be possible. It’s not like they’re going to write the show the exact same after introducing a new character, otherwise there would be no point in doing so. If they’re going to introduce her, they might as well go all out.
Another thing: if Lion-O is trying to get all the cats (plus lizards, other animals, etc.) to join up against Mumm-Ra, why would they NOT have Pumyra and possibly Lynx-O and Bengali join them? The whole point of the show is to build up a resistance against Mumm-Ra and to make it as large and powerful as possible. There’s no point in just introducing a character that could help them with their goals and then just forget about them.
For those who are saying “well, they introduced TONS of people that could help them…” Well, not quite. The berbils have proved to be crafty, but in a fight against Mumm-Ra I don’t think they’d be too useful. Their style of fighting was based heavily on traps and Mumm-Ra isn’t that stupid. The elephants take to long to decide whether or not to fight. The drifter was retired for the most part of the episode and probably doesn’t want to fight anymore. The only one that could help maybe is the Viragor. Most other people introduced in the NS are evil, so I think I’ve proven my point.
Overall, I think if they proportion out the limelight to all the characters (besides Snarf), they can pull off potentially having 9 cats in the group. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. No matter what happens, I’ll still be a fan. The show has pulled many twists off that I didn’t think would work very well, and I haven’t lost any hope in the writers.
Of course they can’t do the same. They dont have enough time. With just 52 episodes for the planned story arc of the whole show. Having that many 20 minish episodes to cast SO MANY characters they already have is gonna be tough. If for some reason the show would have 3-5 season that sounds better but right now i think they dont have the time so many would be left out.
I like the anime and manga “Naruto” in this way. They explore every character so you know what they are doing and what they are fighting over, even if it’s as simple as revenge, hatred, sadness or something else. Would be fun to see why the new mutants turned out to be as they are now. Backstory for this show FOR ME is as important as the main story arc cause the story does not start with the first episode. It starts WAY back. But if they are gonna do something simple as just the legacy episode then i assume it works, not saying it was bad. Would just be awesome if they could have given us a couple of episodes to get some serious backstory and not that little 20 min thing we got.
The Berbils would be useful cause of what they could create, not everyone has to FIGHT you know ;), also i dont think anyone did say “well, they introduced TONS of people that could help them…” or am i missing something? Also most of the evil new ones they did introduce could still turn. The only reason they were evil was of just personal gain. If that “gainage” is going away cause of Mumm-Ra for some reason they might help the Thundercats. Sure Mumm-Ra could recruit them but many evildoers dont want anyone to boss them, they wanna be a boss himself. Even Slithe showed some of that in one of the later episodes to date.
Also we dont even know if she can help them with their goals. Maybe she has something else she’s doing, other goals? Even with Mumm-Ra on Third earth we have people still living their normal lives and doing normal stuff. Now i dont think Pumyras is normal, my point is not everyone cares about “the big war” that is going on/about to happen.
I understand where you’re coming from, but from the spoilers it seems like she wants to save the other cats from Mount Plundarr. If Lion-O and the rest of the group is doing the same, then why not join?
Yeah I get that. I never thought that they’d have to get everyone involved in the war. They still need as much power as possible. They could possibly just have Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O be scouts or something and still be part of the Cats and the series, but not necessarily with Lion-O, Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, and the twins. I think that would be somewhat of a happy medium for the story, so they don’t have to have a lot of characters to deal with.
I know you guys don’t like my ideas for the show, but the thing is, I’m also hoping that Pumyra, Bengali, and Lynx-O join the group. With Mumm-Ra having an army at his disposal, as well three very powerful generals at his command, some extra muscle may be a good thing.
Also, I’m really hoping that spoilers were exaggerating about Pumyra’s anger, but were right about her starting to like Lion-O in the end.

Thundera gone=moral gone. I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to get in a sword fight with the king (coughTygracough), but he did anyway. I think the theory proposed on my last post would work for those who do and those who don’t want them to join. Having them posted in specific areas over third earth would be kind of interesting. However, I think they will try to have all three of them join. I think that having all of them will help and I have been longing for some fresh (kinda fresh, I guess) faces that aren’t confined to one episode.
Yeah three sounds good and I hope Vultureman is in it as well.
On Pumyra being different from her OS self, there is really nothing wrong with that since Pumyra in the OS was by far the most underdeveloped of the crew. All we know is that she was a nurse and she was implied to be one of the younger T-Cats, which is something I gathered just by her hanging around with the Kittens in “The Formula” and “Mumm-Rana’s Belt”.
The character is pretty much a blank slate, so anything they do with her in the NS can’t really be considered wrong really.
I was kinda disappointed with her character in the OS. They could make her so awesome in the NS, and I have a feeling they will.
I sure hope so. Man I just wish we can see a picture of her. I hope bandi makes her a action figures.

So, thinking about how she might look like, if she’s a gladiator I wonder if she’ll be a bit like Xena, and maybe have similar armor, like a leather skirt.
