Nope she just didn’t want to stomp on Lion O feelings. Possibly actually developing feelings. But her feeling for Tygra was stronger. But instead of making it clear she end up leading Lion O on. Which for the most part almost made Tygra kill him. She is a realistic character but she still catches hoe status based off her actions. Though I still like her. She just made player status. While Lion O made chump status.

Maybe but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t be clear to Lion-O that she wasn’t interested in him instead of leading him on like that.
Whose to say she intentionally lead him on? Maybe she didn’t think to much of what she was doing. Maybe she felt like she was just being there for him. Its possible that she didn’t realized their was confusion, until it was to late.
Lion-O never asked her for any confirmation. He chose to interpret her interest as romantic. I dont see how this is her fault.

I’ve seen that image before, was it actually Cheetara or a villain made-out to look like her?
And then, is it that Cheetara actually made a mistake that’s got folks riled, or that the mistake involved Lion-O and his feelings? I would like to see the folks speak this derogatorily to an actual female and walk away without a swollen eye. Were folks this upset when Lion-O didn’t tell what he saw in the SoO? or when he brushed off the kittens? or when we learned Jaga knew precisely where the BoO was? Did people even hate on Claudus this much, when he broke the number one parenting rule to not compare children? I’m pretty sure at some point these few episodes, I’ve called nearly every character with a name an idiot once.
So again, why is Cheetara getting so much hate, without an ounce of rationalization for her actions. Not to excuse her, but at the very least, to understand how she let it happen- and I do say let, as in it was not her goal to hurt Lion-O.
I think most of the Cheetara hate stems from shipping. She didn’t chose the way they wanted her to, and so now she’s being ripped to shreds for it.
Although I could see why some people don’t care all that much about her now.( still doesn’t make sexism and character bashing ok)
Cheetara is severely underdeveloped. Other then shipping, no ones been given all that much of a reason to feel attached to her. She needs some focus and character drive outside of this triangle and her support of Lion-O. Sure people would have complained if she was developed or not, but I dont think it would have been as bad if fans were given a more in depth look at her.
Little Cheetara had a little spunk in her. She was stubborn and a bit of a showboat. What ? did the clericy mellow her out? Give her a more dynamic personality. What ticks her off? Does she have any funny quirks? Whats her overall motto or message ?
Same thing for Tygra. Most of the sparse dialog and story he’s gotten has been about his conflict with Lion-O. Its been 13 episodes now. I think we should have gotten at least one episode per character show casing their awesomeness and why we should give a flying heck about them.
You know what I hope for Cheetara? I hope she gets an entire episode completely unrelated to the boys. Maybe she could go off on her own for an episode and learn more about her sixth sense.
I really dont see all that much hate. Sure there’s a forum with a thread devoted to hating her, but I think that forum is suppose to exist outside of normal reality. Its like the Astral Plane of the Thundercats fandom.
I think that when it comes to Cheetara, we should keep in mind two things:
a) she’s supposed to be 18: at this age she might just be discovering her sexuality and learning the effects she can have in guys.
b) she was a cleric and might have live in some kind of cloister, put this together with a) and she might not have a huge experience whn it comes to social/romantic/sexual clues, so she might not have been aware that her signals were confusing (if they were at some point). She was taught to be supportive and encouraging to ehr king, and that’s what she did, but living with the clerics, I’m sure she doesn’t understand a lot of the romantic stuff and how it works.
And Chique, you’re right. We’ve seen really nothing on Cheetara and Tygra, no major character development after 13 eps. I want to know how does Cheetara feel about Jaga’s death (beside “sad”), and how Tygra is dealing with his father’s death (so far it has been all Lion-o, as if Tygra didn’t miss him); I want to know how they become orphans, how did Tygra get adopted, etc.
lol not really bs if it’s true. If she is not a hoe she definetley needs to put her picture next to the word tease in the dictionary. She led a the dude on for a whole season straight. Even going as far as giving Lion O some pda.
The crew confirmed her age at 19.
I dont think it would be unreasonable to say she is completely unaware of her own charms. Even if she is, whose to say she thought it was as big of a deal as the boys. I think once we get a peak into her head, she will shine more:thumbsup:

You’re acting like a jerk right now. That word has a historical significance of being used to hold women down. Its sexist and derogatory. Is there truly no other word in your vocabulary to get you’re point across? People have debated this to death in the talkback and this thread so I wont go there, but you could try to be a little more conscious about the other poster/lurkers on this board.

If you are going to disrespect the whole purpose of the thread, then try and be a little more respectful of the people who probably came here to avoid that kind of talk about their favorite character. Sure its ok to disagree with her portrayal, but you dont have to be downright mean. At least not in a thread devoted to why people like her.
Hi, I’m new, but I had to say something.
I looked up the word “hoe”, and I don’t get why people would refer to Cheetara as one. Technically she isn’t one. Far as I know she’s never slept with Lion-O…or anyone else. A tease is in the eye of the beholder. Besides. I would think her contact with males her own age would have been limited. She obviously didn’t realize that he was reading her wrong. She’s pretty careful with her emotions.
Likely it is because people don’t know the real meanings of many words and phrases they use. Which is somewhat understandable, you don’t constantly have a dictionary on hand and when learning a language period, we generally learn from other people- but everyone has their own connotations to a word that may be different to someone else. Connotation does not equal denotation.
Personally, I still like Cheetara as a character but just hate how the writers handled her in the love triangle. I would’ve preferred that there wouldn’t have been a love triangle with how they handled it.
And I think the reason why her role in the love triangle is being discussed is because that is a big facet of her character so far sadly.
I’m kinda splitting the fence here, while I was irriated that Cheetara seemed to have been leading Lion O on, but that was at first.
Looking at what we know about the character. Who’s to say she isn’t still conflicted about who she loves. she’s chosen Tygra now, but she also has strong feelings and a love for Lion O as well. She’s lived most of her life in a Cleric monistary, before that she seemed to be a street orphan. I’m sure Jaga and the other Clerics taught her a lot, but I do know most monistaries aren’t exactly known for teaching things about boys and romance to female clerics.
She’s young, out in the real world away from Jaga and her fellow clerics for the first time, if she DIDN’T have conflicting emotions going all over the place I’d be more concerned about her.
They mentioned in several interviews about the show before hand that the Lion O/Cheetara/Tygra love triangle was a big part of the show’s subplots. I honestly doubt they’ll fully resolve that in the first 13 episodes. She’s a young girl stuck between two guys she obviously cares for a great deal both ways. To be honest, I do not envy her situation.
I got the impression she was an outcast before she came to the Cleric House. She said something like “I have no other place to go,” in “Into the Astral Plane”. Could this be linked to her 6th sense in some way?
You know? Somehow I was hoping both Cheetara and Tygra (besides Lion-o that is) entered the Astral Plane to develop the sixt sense and mind powers respectively.
Now I’m starting tot hink we’ll see neither of those this time.
I dont know on which forum it was said, but someone suggested Cheetara’s sixth sense could have been tied to the AP. Though I dont think they had any evidence to support it, the idea was really cool.
I hope those traits are not lost to those characters for good:(
