I, for one, was hoping for a prequel type show. But after seeing some of the subtle, yet strong, nods to the original series, I am quite willing to keep an open and optimistic mind on the series.
Some of the new changes I am not a fan of, but I’ll give it a chance…
Lord Slithor, I’m wondering, where is your avatar from? Is it from the upcoming series?
I’m asking because Slythe has a symbol on his “tiara” that looks similar to the two-snakes symbol Mumm-Ra had on his chest on the original show.
Interesting! There is hope (for me anyway who much prefers the outfit in the trailer), I read that Lion-O’s claw shield will turn into some sort of armour, so perhaps there are two different outfits for each Tcat, a normal one and a battle armour??

Well, when I was looking for a good avatar, I did a Google search for cool images of Slithe. This one I found on some page that was sort of like DeviantArt. I can’t remember who exactly it was that did it. I thought it might have been just a piece of fanart.
I noticed that detail on his headband as well and wondered why it was there. Your guess is as good as mine why. I’m wondering if perhaps I could have stumbled upon a pre-production character drawing for the new show? We still haven’t seen what Slithe looks like yet. So if it turns out that’s the case, I’m going to be bowled-over!
There’s a picture of Slythe next to the kittens on the back of the toy blister cards. He looks pretty baddass, but Im not sure how I feel about the super long fingers and toes.

Slithe fingers and toes do look starnge and too large.
Must say I don’t like the twins (at least their action figures), they look like 6 years-old.
Keep in mind those are placeholder drawings. The figures will look different.
My only real issue with the twins is Kit’s outfit is no longer asymmetrical in color. She always had my favorite look out of all the Thundercats, and her Blue/Pink outfit was a huge part of it.
Am I the only one who noticed in that pic that Willy Kit and Kat have tails?
Nope. There’s actually a thread called “Should the TCs have tails?”, and that was pointed out

I would like to add something on the new T-cats show. Am I the only one here that has noticed all of the Thundercats are almost bare-foot? They all have the same kind of shoes/boots like Tygra, Bengali and Wilykit. You can see their toes and heels. None of them, not even Claudus, has closed boots/shoes.
I’ve been thinking about this for some time and I’m surprised nobody else spoke about it. If someone did, I missed it.
I need to edit to add…what is that on Claudus’s head above his eye brows? They almost look like antennas. Watch the trailer and pause at the close up of Claudus right before Lion-O runs into the sword chamber.
I can’t remember if this was covered for Tygra or not, but it was absolutely pointed out for Panthro in my RB vs WB breakdown of him. I may have touched on it on Cheetara as well. Not so much that they all now have feet exposed per say, but just the individual example on Panthro where it differed from his ninja footies from before.
I sorta assumed that was a crown or a torc of some sort. But I could be wrong. shrugs
But you have to admit, the new Claudus looks so much better than the old Claudus from the 1980’s. They made him look elderly…I mean, really elderly. He looked like he was in his 70’s when Thundera exploded when Lion-O was 12 yrs old.
Atleast with the new Claudus, he is older but it’s more reasonable with him being Lion-O’s father…he doesn’t look like his grandfather now.
I always thought the old version looked like someone who stayed on the beach way way too long. with bleached hair and a super dark tan. lol
new version is MUCH better. and im not disappointed in the slightest that they completely redesigned him.
I did notice it, but said nothing because didn’t want to be the “Tygra fan” again
