I must admit that I know nothing about the toys either! I was into the show more than anything else! I just finished the last episode, the Book of Omens last night. I believe a new Thundercats series should continue consistently where that episode ended… New Thundera restored to it’s former glory, and evil banished. But then the Ancient Spirits of Evil could return, bringing with them not only Mumm-Ra, but also Shadow Master and a bunch of other evil dudes! I’m personally tired of Mumm-Ra. He’s been over-used I think. A new main enemy is needed, or more than one at least… Or they could always turn the comics into a TV series. I’ve never read the Comics, and have no clue where to get them, if you still can, so a TV series about that could be interesting… I also have a problem with the Snarfs. Supposedly, according to one episode, they are immune to all evil impulses, yet in S2V2, Snarf gets the Bracelet of Power, and enjoys bossing all the thundercats around… I don’t know whether that qualifies as “evil”, but it’s at least close in my opinion… In the new series, I would like that to be explained a bit more… And I’d love to see more of the Puma… Not to spoil anything!
Okay, thanks for the info! But you’ve piqued my curiosity regarding the Toy Fair. I know of the San Diego Comic Book Convention, but I’ve never heard of the Toy Fair before. Where will that be held?:o
I have all 130 episodes myself, and what really excited me was finally seeing the stories I had missed. I agree with you completely that the new series should take up where the old one left off. Evil should never be banished from New Thundera. Hey, I can understand that you’re tired of Mumm-Ra, but for me, there would be no “Thundercats” show without him; he’s Lion-O’s eternal enemy. He can, however, lead his own group of evil thugs against the 'Cats, and he can do it from either New Thundera or one of the Moons of Plun-Darr. Just a suggestion.8)
Oh, and Snarf’s bossing the 'Cats around with the Bracelet of Power isn’t really evil. It’s just abuse of that power, nothing more. 
If it does fail why would the youngsters check out what came before it? I don’t hope it fails, i just hope it lives up to what everyone expects. I would prefer it not to happen at all than for it to be bad. nGot to say though, the original artwork that was produced was really cool and I have no problem with a ‘new’ thundercats design being released as long as it remains true to the the story/theme etc…
The whole redisgning of the characters doesn’t bother me - things have to change in order to remain popular. Otherwise you wouldn’t have nostalgia from the original series. Change is good as long as it doesn’t use the name of thundercats while introducing a totally new program. The whole LA thing would never have happened. But as long as it stays true to the whole original story it would be a good thing regardless of the redisgn of characters.

I couldn’t agree more about the show’s original artwork. And I don’t mind the ‘Cats’ costumes being redesigned to a degree so long as the original design of the ‘Cats themselves isn’t altered into something unrecognizable. The “Thundercats: Reclaiming Thundera/The Return/Dogs of War” series by WildStorm/DC Comics had Lion-O in “The Return” dressed in a solid-black catsuit (no pun intended) with only his arms bare. It was great and I’d love seeing him in such an outfit in the new cartoon show. The adult Wilykat and Wilykit wore new clothing in “The Return” and “Dogs of War”, as did Lion-O, Cheetara and Pumyra, and that was enjoyable as well. As I said in an earlier post, I’d love seeing the ‘Cats’ technology updated; if this also means their personal weapons and Cats’ Lair itself get a face-lift, then go for it! But a Rambo-Snarf wearing a rocket pack on his back? It’d be hilarious as a sight gag for one episode , but Snarf being that way 24/7 just doesn’t compute. And neither does the rejected Lion-O redesign I commented on; it makes him look like a mangy alley cat with ideas above his station. That’s not the Lord of the Thundercats or, for that matter, any of the other Thundercats.:bengali:

Well, unfortunately I’m a bit of a packrat. I do collect things: articles, books, magazines,
DVDs of favorite movies and TV shows, and, yes, things I deem toys, though they don’t have to be actual toys themselves.:oops:

Yeah that’s right, I agree… but those WB guys maybe will have deaf ears to those ideas and come along with another “loonatics” stuff… That would be just annoying!!! and I don’t like either my Sis and I being removed from the new series… at least that’s what I read in a press release :wilykat:

Agreed. I’d like to read that too. Wilykit and Wilykat were really good characters! They’re the only young thundercats there are. At least that we know of…
As far as I’m aware Warner Bros have not made any press releases concerning a new series yet. I’m sure when they do, we will definately cover it 
Just to follow up on Neil (Blackiecats) post, there is no official press release from Warner Bros.
What I think could work, and I agree it needs to pick up where the last left off, and not a reboot…is as follows.
Mumm-Ra is a sub-main bad guy. He sets the plan in motion, and oversees the action of all the evil going on around him. We’ll see him in inter-cuts, and maybe a main battle here and there.. but there’s no need to get rid of him completely.
Some of the best eps worked, where Mumm-Ra only had a small part, or in some cases the Pyramid was seen and he was not around…
For instance, the one where Luna caught Lion-O, after Ra commanded the Spirit statues to spray him with sleeping gas. All we saw was a glowing casket and a laugh :). That’s all we need from a cool setup like that :).
I’m more concerned that if they do bring him back, they get a voice that was just as cool… and bring back all the old music, slightly updated…or at least done in the same style.
I agree! They should never get rid of Mumm-Ra completely, but they should get some new bad guys to make the show feel new and to make it a bit more interesting. They could also go into more detail about some characters introduced in the final volume of the series. I noticed that they never did complete the search for new thundarians… Maybe a new series could pick up with them having found a lot more refugees than they had, but the series could potentially still look for more. And perhaps some of the refugees could be/become thundercats… And they really need to go more in depth about Lion-O’s father. At first I thought Jaga was his father, and I had thought that for years, but then when I saw the episode where Lion-O’s father was imprisoned, I realized I was wrong. It wasn’t all that clear to me, and they should maybe do some stories involving him and perhaps even Lion-O’s mother or siblings… It could work, right…?
I think ill hold back my excitement until there is an official press release about this.
Although a new series would be fantastic and should have been done by now its a good thing people are still talking about it.
I thought that for a long time too, mainly because Jaga used to call him “Son” but I guess it was more of an affectionate term than a paternal one.
I havent seen the episode where Lion-O’s father is imprisioned but I did see the one where he went back in time and met his father the day before Thundera went nova. Thats when I put 2 + 2 together.
I said in one of my first posts on this site that there could be no “ThunderCats” without Mumm-Ra; he’s Lion-O’s eternal archenemy and should remain so. It’s great to see somebody agreeing with me. I heartily agree that a new series should pick up where the first one left off in showing Thunderian townships now springing up on New Thundera due to more refugees being found. And new Thundercats can, and should, come from these refugees; one refugee, Torr, seemed to be on his way to becoming a Thundercat at the time the show ended. However, more refugees increase the likelihood for Thunderian renegades. They can be the new bad guys to help keep the 'Cats on their toes on New Thundera, and they can join forces with Mumm-Ra and Ma-Mutt. Finally, I can’t agree more that Claudus, Lion-O’s father, needs to be explored in detail. And so does Lion-O’s mother, as I don’t believe Lion-O was cloned from Thundercat DNA.:bengali:
