Now all of the nine Thundercats had pretty cool weapons but which do you think was the best? If you could have any of the weapons which would it be?
I was tempted to leave the Sword of Omens out of this but I won’t
Lion-O - Sword of Omens
Tygra - Bolo whip
Cheetara - Bo Staff
Panthro’s - NunChucks
WilyKit/WilyKat - Power Pellets
Pumyra - Sling deadly pellets combination
Lynx-O - Light Shield (or should this be Braille-board?)
Bengali - Hammer of Thundera
I personally wolud love to have Tygra’s bolo whip, creating fire and turining invisible is just so damn cool
im going to have to go with panthro’s nunchucks. Those babies are bad being able to shoot gases/exploding pellets out of the ends and I would imagine with having the claws on the ends they can be used to climb
For second favourite, it’s a hard one but probably Panthro’s nunchukus by (if you’ll excuse the pun! ;)) a whisker. However, some of this is probably influenced by the fact that the BBC cut a lot of action sequences in the second half of season 1 that involved Panthro using them, so seeing those sequences on the DVD boxed sets for the first time adds a whole new “cool factor” to them!

You mean the light-up one from LJN? Ultra-cool toy! There was another version, which came in a two-pack, one small version Sword of Omens, one fully-extended version Sword of Omens. The fully-extended version was much more cartoon-accurate than the LJN version, sadly I lost it - I also smashed up my first LJN light-up Sword too, but got a replacement for it!
At the moment I can’t find my light-up Sword of Omens anywhere, although I know it’s around here somewhere - I’m just praying there’s no battery damage!
Yes its the LJN version, not too bad condition. I remember playin with it all the time. I had a liono mask and everything…cant wait until my next fancy dress invite !!!
You know, I definitely have to go with Tygra’s Bolo Whip, because I always thought it was the coolest weapon (even when I was a kid). Turning invisible was the clencher for me, especially since it could do so much else (like shoot fireballs…). They were all pretty awesome, though. :bengali:
Real original of me, but the Bolo Whip. All the original Thundercats weapons are very cool I think, Cheetara’s Bo Staff being the least cool. I’ve always had a thing for whips for some reason…
Sword of omens, so many powers, I’m still seeing new things it does! A very close second would be the bolo whip! Just to be invisible, and peep on Cheetara while she was in the shower!
Just look at my username. The Sword of Omens has to be one of the coolest weapons in all of fiction! But aside from the holy blade, Tigra’s bola and Cheetara’s bo were cool because they could extend to practically any size you needed - right out of thin air!
My choice would be the Bo Staff, not because I think it’s really cool, but because it’s the same kind of weapon I use when I’m training in self defense. Hey, Ya gotta go with your strengths.
Personally, I believe He-Man’s Power Sword, The Sword of Omens and the jedi lightsaber are the Holy triad of fictional weapons, so you can pretty much guess where my vote is. However, if you Force-coke me into choosing a second favourite, I have to go for Tygra’s bolo whip.
