-I love his new voice and they basically kept him as he was + he is more menacing than ever, he must be the most badass villain in tv history
Jaga (might be the onlyone who finds this)
jaga has a strong character and a soothing voice, he does look weak but he evidentally isn’t, it’s a good change because the other thundercats “leaders” are bodybuilding types
Special mentions for Grune (great armor and weapon) the kittens and snarf for not being annoying this time
At this point, Tygra. I like the ruggish flamboyant type of male characters. Their so much fun to read and write! We saw none of this Tygra in ep.3 so as all of the characters develop, my opinions of them will most likely change. Doesn’t mean he wont be my favorite, just that I mite have more adequate reasons for liking him over everyone else.
Lion-O:
Pros: I like that he’s a techie
Cons: Bad personality… wouldn’t have tolerated him IRL.
Tygra:
Pros: Self-improving. Seems to be able to change for the better.
Cons: None really… I was considering his mean streak at start, but I don’t think he ever did it to be mean. It was always with a bit of humor in his eyes.
Cheetarah:
Pros: Good looking, Open-minded, Awesome fighter, Kind, Loyal etc etc
Cons: Topped out from the start… can only go downhill from here
Snarf:
Pros: Cute
Cons: Can’t speak
Panthro:
Pros: Badass… looks like he eats barbed wire for breakfast.
Cons: Voice (If the same as first episode)
Claudus:
Pros: Best voice acting, Rides out at the head of the army.
Cons: Lousy dad and ruler
Jaga:
Pros: Voice, Mystery
Cons: Too much devotion. Lifes are worth no more than what they bring to the end game.
Wilykit & Kat (Can’t really differ so much between them yet):
Pros: Cute, Tricksters
Cons: Too cute… Need to be able to look more dangerous if they ever need to fend for themselves.
Mumm-Ra:
Pros: More eeeeevil
Cons: Can’t compete with former voice actor
Slythe:
Pros: Looks just as cool as before
Cons: Doesn’t say “yeeeesssss” anymore which was an awesome character tic.
Sword of Omens:
Pros: Blows Mumm-Ra straight through walls… Looks great.
Cons: Lacks lots of features
Result:
It’s a tight call between Tygra and Cheetarah for me right now. I’m going to go with Cheetarah, but it might change easily.
This is going to be weird to say, given my complete indifference to the characters in the original series, but the Wilytwins totally steal the show. Their animation and voice acting is all done so well, it’s really great.
I’d like to see Cheetara fleshed out more as a character, but there’s not really been much time for that yet, but I’m sure it’s coming.
I think, technically, my favorite “character” of the old show was the Sword of Omens, and given that we’ve not seen much of what is can do yet, that’s hard to say if it’ll hold true for the new show.
While he comes off as a snarky jerk early on, he knows what’s important and he really does care for the well-being of his people, as evidenced when he and Lion-O disagreed over the thunderkittens coming along.
For some reason I just want to glomp him! Especially in this last episode when he got seasick XD While disgusting, I just went ‘aaaawwww Squishy hug i feel your pain Tygra!’
i’ll have to see tonights episode to make a more informed decision, as the last episode didnt have a whole lot of character development time, but so far, im still liking Tygra the best.
he strikes me sorta like DiNozzo from NCIS. ****y and arrogant, considers himself a ladies man and has sort of a playful yet superior attitude to him, but in a crunch you know he has your back and he has the skills to back up all the bravado
Another one really liking the new Lion-O. The twins have really endeared themselves to me and Ocelli as well.
As for villains, I really like the new Grune. Mainly because he’s being voiced by Clancy Brown (Kurgan in Highlander, Long Feng in Avatar and Lex Luthor in the DCAU amongst many others).
He didn’t always have humor in his eyes. There was a point in the race up the tree when it was gone and he seemed downright angry. There was no humor when he yelled at Lion-O in their cell about him not being fit to be Lord of the ThunderCats. There was no humor in his eyes when Lion-O told him he didn’t want to be like him when he grew up. I think Tygra’s complicated.

I think they should have kept the kittens as pre-teens personally.

What does “glomp” mean?
Maybe a little, but he doesn’t play the pranks and that’s what makes Dinozzo, Dinozzo.
NOT sexual, it is the action of one person lovingly (and dramatically) attacking another with a hug. A glomp is often preadatory and lies somewhere in the grey area between a caring embrace, and a flying leap to tackle someone.
