Not only that, but even more. In “Exodus”, Jaga told the TCs that he has found a planet where they would be able to breathe (among other things). What for, ifthey could breathe anything, as it seems?

Oddly enough I noticed this in a Bravestarr episode recently. I am going to say though at least that was standing at the door of the ship so maybe they had a forcefield engaged or something lol. 
Science doesn’t really apply in 80’s animation.

A lot of the time, yes - credit to Defenders Of The Earth for being a bit more realistic, like in the wonderful episode “Bits ‘n’ Chips” where they’re about to do a spacewalk: they’ve suited up, but suddenly Ming’s ships appear out of nowhere, and the canopy gets destroyed, and they have to head for their space station to fix it.

To be fair, there is no distinct boundary between the atmosphere of a planet and space; the density of the atmosphere simply decreases as the altitude increases. So technically, it is possible to be at an astronautical altitude, and still be within the atmosphere of a planet.

Fair enough, but the episodes where we see them breathing in deep space, they really are in deep space; no planets anywhere near.
…And in some 80s movies as well. Anyone remember the scene in “Superman IV” where Supeman flies in space carrying Lucy Warfield (a human) in his arms?

That reminds me of an episode of She-Ra where He-man fires a rope to hold Horde Prime’s ship from taking off while She-Ra climbs to the ship. She turns her sword into a helmet and takes it off and puts in on Hordak before re-entry.

Superman IV was on ITV 4 this weekend. Of all the Superman movies it is the one shown least on TV and to this day I have still never watched it the full way through.

The way Ma-Mutt and later Mumm-Ra were exiled in the “Last Day” episode of ThunderCats was a definite reference to the beginning of Superman: The Movie.

Perhaps not a WTF moment, but one I find confusing.
InThundercubs IV why do the cubs not know Lion-O when they revert back to their child-like selves but they do still seem to know/recognize each other? Is this to imply that they knew each other as children? Also, they seem to know of the Thundercats but being children do not consider themselves as such. However they don’t seem to question donning the Thundercats insignia.

This is a quote from teh discussion on “Chain of Loyalty”, which left me thinking. Why didn’t Lion-O turned wild too? Isn’t he a ThunderCat overall? In “Mad Bubbler”, Jaga warned him that, no matter how much lord he is, entering the cave will turn him evil because everyone has evil ionside, so why didn’t he turned evil when the Chain of Loyalty broke? Another example of him just because being Lord was over good and evil, which is ridiculous.

Maybe they did know eacjh other from kids (cubs), but weren’t chosen as TCs yet.

Yes, that’s what I am thinking but found it odd that they didn’t notice they all were wearing the Thundercats insignia. This would also go along with the cubs not knowing Wilykit and Wilykat in part V as they are much younger and probably not born yet. Although they seemed to know Snarf and Snarfer.

Well, Sanrf is said to be old. Maybe he was Claudus’ pet and the Thundercubs knew him from then. About Snarfer, no idea lol
About the insignias, maybe they were in “training”, so they wore the badges despite not being properly TCs yet. Just forcing an explanation

My guess is that he was protected by the Eye Of Thundera, same as he was in Thundercubs.
Actually, when I saw it the other day, I did find one other good point about that episode - it had a bit of Tygra’s theme in it, for the first time in ages. Just not the main trumpet motif
