Speaking of Jaga, I am not keen on time travel stories at all, but when Jaga’s ghost appeared to Lion-O in Return to Thundera that was a WTF moment for me.

What’s up with the ghost-like figure that gives Mumm-ra the Totem at the beginning of “Totem of Dera”? I don’t remember seeing him before or after and there is no explanation. However he can apparently retrieve pieces of the Treasure of Thundera and deliver them to Third Earth!

That bugged the hell out of me when I saw the episode recently. Obviously it won’t “solve the problem”, but it might dilute it a little if we move the episode to later on in the continuity order.

That ghost bugged me plenty in that episode.
I too have been irked by the inconsistency in the depiction of The Ancient Spirits of Evil in the series. Sometimes they speak from the four statues, sometimes they materialize from the cauldron (“Nemesis” in “The Doomgaze”), and then they appear as the ghost-like figure in “Totem of Dera” that you mentioned. Come on animators, make up your minds! :mad:
And even though they were usually voiced by Earle Hyman, I do recall one episode in which Bob McFadden did their voice. Unfortunately I can’t remember the episode. Anyone recall that episode?

I think there’s more than one. “Excalibur” has them played by McFadden, but I think that’s the only season 1 episode where they were. I’m sure he did them in at least one from the later series, but even though I’m still going through them, I can’t for the life of me remember which one(s?)!

Just watched “The Heritage” this afternoon - how come something from Mumm-Ra’s past was suddenly discovered at random on New Thundera? Seriously, Peter Lawrence and Bill Ratter’s writing partnership has a lot to answer for - they also co-wrote “Chain Of Loyalty” . . .

Mr. Lawrence also co-wrote “The Demolisher” with Bob Haney. The star of the titular episode wasn’t well realized beyond fighting to be the strongest.

I didn’t take the ghost figure to be the ASOE. They state that they have done Mumm-ra’s bidding. I can’t see them being subservient to Mumm-ra. Also, right after the ghost vanishes Mumm-ra then calls on the ASOE to explain the powers of the Totem of Dera. This is why I am confused as to who this ghost is.

There is so much that could have been done with the Demolisher’s character. It is a shame characters like him didn’t get better back stories and more appearances to make them some what more interesting and become a real threat.

Speaking of Bob Haney (not sure if this has already been said or not) but in All That Glitters it says that the blade can only be fixed in star fire, yet after that it was fixed twice without star fire.

Yeah, I know. In my mind, only star fire can reforge the Sword of Omens. 
Ya I always found it a big disappointing that they later treated it more like a normal sword which could be reforged in a more traditional manner by Bengali and especially Charr.

Another instance that always got me was when Luna suddenly is able to appear in the clouds in “Hachiman’s Honor”.

Also, there’s Hachiman’s sudden reappearance on Third Earth in that episode, when Mumm-Ra clearly banished him to his own timeline in the middle of “ThunderCats, Ho!” Part 5.

Dodgy, but not the dodgiest thing with Hachiman - that dubious honour, as I said last week, goes to “The Jade Dragon” - hands down!
