I’m making this because I keep seeing comments on Tygra being treated wrongly on this new series comepared to the others, yet elsewhere I see undying love for the character. So thunderfans of TCatslair.org! Who’s your favourite of the main 7? Snarf? Tygra? Wilykit?
Post! Tell us why they’re your favourite? What draws you to that character? Their pesonality? Their role?
So far my favourite is Tygra. Pfft. I don’t care if he hasn’t received much screen time. His personality and ego just make him loveable to me. So far he has some of the best lines in the series. Add those two factors to him keeping his awesome invisibility powers from the OS, and you’ve got a pretty damn interesting and fun guy on your hands, despite him appearing as a jerk. Deep down he means well. And despite having his differences with Lion-O, he still remains loyal to him, like real family.
I agree with the OP! I love Tygra. We got to see so much of him in the premier and I liked it all.

I think he was the most established in the premier, though we’ve lost focus in the last few episodes.
He has had the best one liner so far ..and Im gonna ring yours Now you see me, now you dont!
Uh and yeah HE USES A WHIP TO FRECKIN’ DISAPPEAR
The premier just made him look like so much fun! I hope we get back to that soon.
While I think Lion-O is coming up to be a promising leader, I just think that Cheetara’s rather mature approach to everything makes her my favorite. She possesses a likable personality.
If I may contradict on Tygra, I honestly don’t think he is mature, well maybe little bit more than Lion-O if that’s the point of reference we’re using. Just my opinion.
Siding with Lion-O on this. This new Lion-O is a much more believable character than the OS. Although honestly Tygra hasn’t had his due yet in the series. Hang in there Tygra fans!
As it stands Right now I think Panthro, but I voted for Tygra because I think once he gets more screen time and we learn more about him he’ll be my favorite.
I voted for Tygra because I like what I’ve seen so far and because I’m sure I’ll like what we’ll seen soon, he has a lot of potential. I like his personality too.
Oh, also, I have this thing for the underdog, which I think he’s so far.
The way he handled the Cheetara injury in JTTO
The way he approached Lion-O about his irresponsibility in the premier
The way he acted when Lion-O called him out in the premier( Now is not the time)
When he wanted to follow Jagga’s path rather then revenge in ROTR and
not arguing with Lion-O after the fact (even when goaded )
All, IMO fine examples of Tygra being mature. He still has some growing to do, but overall I think he’s rather mature.
I voted Tygra, he’s been # 1 on my list since i saw the pilot.
So why do i like him? Because he acts a bit like Han Solo - he is the charismatic, brave jerk with a heart of gold and is a lot more than you expect him to be. That he is good looking in a humanoid tiger sense doesn’t hurt either.
He is arrogant and thinks highly of himself but it isn’t just hot air, he IS very skilled at many things and he knows it. He cares about other people even Snarf and he did put himself at risk when that mob threatened his brother and he acted rather selflessly in most of the episodes. In episode 4 i cut him some slack because it was his turn to go through the stages of angry grief. And on top of all that - suddenly being ordered around by a younger sibling - who hasn’t earned your respect yet - can’t be easy.
I think he is mature in some ways but in a certain way he still has some growing up to do - when it comes to his rivalry with Lion-o. But they must do that last part of growing up - together.
The little furry creature won my heart with his evil hee, hee while holding the ropes in his mouth. He was great last episode too.
Next would probably be Tygra for all the reasons stated above and the fact despite he does follow Lion-o’s orders he’s not a yes man like they’ve written Cheetara. He’s the one that had the guts to keep bringing the kittens up too. He takes care and makes sure Snarf’s safe during a fight. Cherry on top he’s blowing stuff up with Pathro too.
Funny, when I was a kid watching the OS, Kit was my favorite then too.
Lion-O is annoying me, Tygra and Cheetara are too far under-developed, and Panthro makes a good second place imoho. Kat’s ok, but I don’t like how he sounds - too much like a Peanuts character. Snarf has his cute moments but I don’t like his general sounds.
Hmm, can anyone guess mine? :DDefinitely Tygra. I loved Tygra back when I was a tiny tot because he reminded me of me shy and smart and he managed to STILL be cool. I was VERY worried when I first heard about the new Thundercats series last year and the news that Tygra was going to be greatly re-vamped, but right from his first few moments and that flirty little wink at Cheetara I LOVED him, I immediately thought of Han Solo and for some weird reason Flynn Rider from Tangled and Prince Naveen in the Princess and the Frog. Yeah, yeah I know I broke out the disney…
I really can’t pick. I think my problem is that Bengali and Pumyra became my favorites once they were introduced in the OS, so now I’m just waiting (hoping) they show up in the new series. Until then, I enjoy the TCats as a group but I don’t have a stand-out favorite.
