I’d like to know if you like one of the thundercats cartoon seasons more than the other and if so - why.

Sadly I still haven’t watched an entire season (Argh! slow shipments are evil!) so i’d have a difficulty saying.
From other movies/books/games I’d speculate that the 1st would be - it has a freshness and unqieness second seasons usually don’t have. Not to mention it sets the expectations 
I have to admit that I only watched some episodes of season I right now, too. And I’m not very well informed about the tundercats - thats why I’m here 
I thought that the thundercats where on ThirdEarth in season and in Season II they returned to thundera - hope that’s right.
Definitely season 1. I love the exploration of Third Earth, the ThunderCats adjusting to their new home and surroundings, and I just don’t like the idea of the Lunatacks or “new” ThunderCats, and I really don’t like that Tygra’s screen time is greatly diminished. :mad: (He’s my favorite, and very imporant in season 1)
So, just season 1 for me, please. 
well i dont prefer either one, even though id have to saY the first season has alot more of my fave eps. i have alot of faves in season 2 cause there are some great eps in that one to plus i love some of the thundera eps to as well
To be honest, I’d have to say Season 1; it laid all the ground rules. But that doesn’t mean I dislike Season 2. Yes, a number of those stories weren’t as good as those from the first season, but I enjoyed the idea of other Thunderians surviving Old Thundera’s explosion because it became harder and harder to believe that the Cats were the only ones who had escaped.
Season 1 had all of the classic episodes - ‘Garden of Delights’, ‘Grune The Destroyer’, ‘Excaliber’.. you name it. A slight few of these episodes were rubbish whereas Season II’s episodes range from good to absolutely diabolical - however, I must admit that I have warmed up to Season II as, before I watched it, I expected it to be absolutely terrible when, in fact, it wasn’t actually too bad. I even liked the Lunataks and the new ThunderCats.. and I was expecting to hate them. 
Pound for pound, I’d give it to Season 1. Why? Becaue season 1 was where we got all the pure ThunderCat goodness we wanted. The characters, and the story lines were absoutley great. Does that mean that I didn’t like season 2…of course not. I love the new ThunderCats, and the Lunatacks were awesome, but overall they all seemed like bells and whistles compared to what made the show great in the first place.
Finally watched all the episodes (yay)
From what I’ve seen there are parts i like and parts that i hate for every season.
In season 1 i like episodes 1-45 (approx) plus the 5 trials and “The last day”. Near the end, however, there are a few episodes that are of lesser quality (both in terms of plot and art).
Similar thing for season 2. I generally loved all the 5-type episodes and most of the treasure hunts. Yet there still were 10-15 episodes that were poorly done (in comparison).
I’m honestly surprised there wasn’t a season 3 though. Guess that has to do with ratings and what not, but there was/is a lot of potential.
Season 1, hands down.
Season 2 gave us some interesting characters, but that’s about it. Didn’t like the new score or most of the stories. Felt like a different cartoon at times.
Without a shadow of a doubt season 1 was better. Season 2 lost alot of the charm, added in one too many annoying characters and just randomly brought things out of the blue that didn’t make any sense. The entire (spoiler warning) resurection of thundera was terrible… don’t even get me started on the entire gyro-stabiliser thingy at the centre of the planet.
I wouldn’t say season 2 was terrible… it just stopped been the thundercats.
Season 1 was ‘darker’, Season 2 was a bit more colorful and unpredictable…The best thing about the second season was the smoother and brighter animation. I like both
Actually, it had to do with the show reaching its 130-episode limit. But, like you, I enjoyed the five-parters the most because it allowed for more storyline and a little more character development.
I like season one but my favorite season is season two.
I absolutely adore the Thundercats Ho! Movie and its pretty much the only thing out of all the boxed sets I watch with any regularity anymore.
I have to admit that season two in later episodes got in a car with NOS in it and tore towards loo loo land as hard as it could tear but season two at least gave hope for the future of the Thundercats.
Season one was about survival but for me there was the underlying sadness of the Thundercats being the last survivors of their planet. Season two rolled along and whoohoo!!! There were Thunderians living on an island so there had to be more people out there! It also allowed for a more detailed look at Third Earth and paved the way for episodes the show couldn’t have if it stayed with the season one format.
Season two also let us see a little more of Thundera’s history including the incredible bombshell that Jaga’s actions lead to the very destruction of Thundera to begin with which was pretty heady for way back then! 
If nothing else in season two the writers injected a little more humor in places which I enjoyed as well as continued the grand tradition of Mumm-Ra trying to carry out most of his evil plans disguised as a woman in one form or another.
The biggest complaint I have about season two is that Tygra and Pumyra weren’t in the last episode. I know that they couldn’t be…as another poster said the Thundercats wouldn’t abandon Third Earth but I still missed them.
Why couldn’t the snarfs have been there instead?
Ha, maybe Tygra and Pumyra wanted to spend quality time together..I wonder what Cheetara thought of this ..But hey, she was busy with Lion-O on New Thundera so there

I know :duh: , I should have written more clearly…I thought that the Snarfs like Snarfer, Oswald and Eggbert should have been looking after the Third Earth real estate so Pumyra and Tygra could have been freed up for the final show.

well that wouldnt have happend cause snarf you know wanted to be with liono and snarfer wanted to be with snarf. as well as the other snarfs they basically had a new place to take care of and that was the new thundera.
Well you’re correct. I always wanted the cartoon or the comics to touch on how Snarf came to be Lion-O’s caretaker. I suppose that the writers did get that part of the show right after all with Snarf sticking by the side of Lion-O until the end.
I agree that season 2 gave more depth to the characters and such… but I just can’t like season 2 because of how stupid the episodes got. 1) the Lunatacs are crap, they had non of the charm that the mutants had (hard as that is to believe) 2) Mar-mutt… need I say more… actually let’s chuck Snarfer in their as well 3) that bloody cave on third Earth that only the blind guy could navigate through.
Nah, not enough things added up or strung together enough with season 2. Take out of the second season all the back story and coolness like the sword of Plundarr and merge it with the cast of the first season, with the feel and ethos of the first season and you would have thunder cat perfection.
As you may also deduce from that statment, I wasn’t too much of a fan of the new thundercats either, not htat i hate them, I just thought it worked better with the original crew.
