But see the problem lies in that Ebay is about the only place where collectibles are easily found. Other than that it would be vintage stores. However things may change soon with the prospect of a collectible auction platform coming. It’s not one of our projects but one that we have been made aware of in advance and it is not for general items but strictly one dedicated to collectibles. I’m not able to disclose much in terms of the website but a new auction platform strictly for collectibles is coming soon. With minimum fees for posting auctions and part of those fees go back to the collectible community.I’ll keep everyone posted on any new progress but as i said info is limited to TCL to disclose at the moment.
I got it around 2003 I think (but don’t quote me on that!) At that time it was the only one to come on Ebay with the small instruction sheet. I think I paid about $200 for mine shipped over to the UK. It is 100% complete with all tags and box inserts, but the box is missing one of the flaps (it had been ripped off)
A real shame really as the box front is absolute mint with no price sticker, nor any price sticker residue! 
The tongue action on the toy works perfect, but I don’t use the action at all through fear of it breaking.
I have every LJN toy that was made loose complete, except for the Astral Moat Monster, 3 Laser Sabers, Stilt Runner and the full sized Sword of Omens 
(I only have the Astral Moat Monster and Sword of Omens MOC/MIB)

He’s a major reseller which doesn’t bother me…but it’s just the air of arrogance all his auctions have that just annoys me.

$1200 starting…and how does he know he has the highest graded Lion-O ever? I’d like to see that, somebody should invite him here. Also there are “3 AFA85 Lion-O’s in the world” I bet there are alot more than that considering I have one.

That may be the case but they are still (at least for me) the easist and only way to get things for my collection as I have no vintage toy stores around me and my flea markets are lame
Hi ive been reading this forum for a whiile now but never anything exciting to contribute. I just thought it was interesting about the tongue a saurus auction. I had a few bids on it and held the lead for a fair while. From what i can gather there was only two other bidders on the whole auction with the person who won it, beating my bid of $602 with the overkill of $1725. They only bid once with someone else pushing it up every few minutes. I was watching it thinking how su****ious it was. Oh well there’s always next time.

I have bought several thundercats figures off Ebay and for the most part I am happy with the price I payed and the items I received. I think more and more people are realizing how great these figures are and it is driving the price up.
ebay is good, Thundercat sellers from Greece, however… not so much

Just wanted to share with you all the latest outrageous price on ebay. The Moc Thunderwings liono sold for close to 3 grand:yikes:. That is crazy thats about double the going price for the one that popped up 6 months ago. anyway here is the auction. The guy that bought it has been bidding super high and winning stuff for 2 times what they are worth. Wish I had those kinds of pockets.

IMHO i think it sold for way more than what it is actually worth. Then again prices are set by the very people who pay these outrageous prices, to each its own I guess. My estimates surely didnt go that high, i mean i bought mine for $150 on a less than below average card. $2500 is about as crazy as a boxed Tongue a Saurus for over $1700
As the seller… we’re scratching our heads too. We expected to do well with it, but… yeah, color us surprised.
Congrats on the sale, i think a lot of people are scratching their heads right now trying to explain this. I mean several years ago a Feliner prototype sold for something like 3-4 grand so for a carded Thunderwings Lion-O to sell for that much is beyond me. The sell loose for well below $100 matter of fact I would say a loose one complete could easily sell well below $75. I have seen some graded samples of Thundercats sell for the ranges of 500-1000 and a boxed Tongue a Saurus sell for over $1700 but $2500? Sheesh i wouldnt complain if I was the seller makes me want to sell my below average carded sample. Good going though, that sale however has set the bar kind of high and i think with this sale it could be of benefit to collectors out there because people may unload some of those stashed away Lion-O’s.
Yeah, it may end up being a benefit to many. I am sure there are many people scrounging their closets right now for Lion-O’s laugh And I wouldn’t blame them one bit. We started the bidding conservatively, and when it hit the $909 price, we really thought that was the end of it, and we were thrilled. When it hit $2550, I was making a fresh pot of coffee, and my assistant screamed like she had just been shot. I wasn’t sure what had happened there for a moment laugh
yeah, I had that thing sniped at 2 grand, hoping to get it for about 1100.00 at most, and when I saw that, it was it for me.
It kinda makes me sad that I’ll never be able to own one of these! Not necessarily because of the money they go for, but because of Ebay’s new idiotic idea of blocking buyers identities!
I remember reading on the he-man.org forums that there was once an idiot bidding on stuff because she felt that the seller should get a lot more than the items were going for. Then if she was the high bidder at the end she wouldn’t pay!
So unfortunately, until Ebay policy is changed back concerning the display of bidders identities I won’t be bidding on any more high end items 
I feel it’s just another Ebay tactic to make more money by avoiding having these idiots found out and reported to the seller and Ebay :x

I do agree, ebay is pure evil, but is the only outlet for most of us to get any good classic stuff.
They started hiding the identities of buyers, so others who had the same item could just look at the bidders, and see who is in the market for their item, ow much they are willing to pay, and they do not have to have selling fees or final value fees or anything like that.
I could rant on how greedy ebay is all day long, but in the end, I am co-dependent to it. What are we to do?
