Yeah, saw it and definately considered buying. But like I said, I can’t afford to slap down ?200 down at the moment. I’d overspent last month (June) already with buying the latest He-man boxset and the classic colours Sorceress mini statue. In hindsight I should have bought it and then sold off one of my Tygra’s to part pay for it :roll: Oh well…
Well the brown chest IS legit. Very stupidly, the Childbro Lion-o’s chest is that colour and it has nothing to do with the plastic fading. Also another interesting thing about this particular version is that the whole head lights up! :roll: This could be caused by thinner/cheaper plastic on the head or a bigger bulb inside the head. I had one of these Lion-o’s in a loose lot a while back you see and couldn’t stop laughing after I tried his light up eyes! lol
As for the price, I wouldn’t shell that much out either for this piece to be honest.
These prices make no sense whatsoever. I got my Mummra with battery 2 months ago for 76 shipped, and that liono at 400 some dollars is nuts. I think that lately the only figures that have any price value is Lion-o and possibly Mummra everything else seems to have gone way down.
I smell a shill bidder on that Lion O and then again I may be wrong. There is a thing that we as the basically the only guide for Thundercats have created and that is that we have let people know that there are mnore variations than people used to think. Nobody knew up until a few months ago when I mentioned it that there is a variation on the Lion O wiht battery. Not that it is wrong for collectors to know whats out there but everyone as a collector is now looking for these rare and harder to find variations. Its a double edged sword when it comes to collecting knowledge but at least we know that the job we’re doing is right. Not good for us as collectors because the prices skyrocket on those harder variations but hey what can we do. We’re here to provide the best toy knowledge and in essence it backfires on those of us that are in the know. Guess its the price we all have to pay but its all cool
I recently (two weeks ago) broke down, and signed up at EBay, and started to bid on a TCats item. As it now stands, EBay seems to be the only on line place offering TCats - am I wrong?
The bid was for five figures (Liono, Cheetara/Kit, Panthro, Monkian, and Tygra). All were shown with opened packaging. Bidding started at $10.00, and when I started to bid, it was up to $33.00. I did not win the bid, but my last bid was about 140.00, including shipping. I think the final sale went for about $200 +.
I must say, I turned around and purchased items from the “Buy It Now” category - the Thundertank (I have already rec’d this. No Box, but in wonderful shape, no paint wear, plastic in great shape, only in need of a good cleaning, and even then it wasnt really dirty, just left on a shelf in a basement or garage for a few years). I also tracked down a complete Panthro (loose), and a complete Monkian and Skycutter combo - currently waiting on all these to arrive in the mail. All of these vehicles and figures were purchased for below $200.00. I am not an expert, but my “buy it now” experience has so far turned out better then the bidding experience.
YEah ebay bidders on thundercats stuff can be cutthroats especially when they are only in to resell as Tcats have a good resale value (although not as of recently prices have gone down). Any way you were out bid by someone probably looking for moc figures. They will just probably reseal them. If they had no packaging they would have sold for a lot less.
Thundercats are at the lowest I have seen for a good while. A loose Thunderwings Lion O sold for less than $36 and although that may seem like average for most, I have, for the most part seen them go for more than that.Its a buyers market, I should know
When’s the next Luna-Lasher Mumm-ra going to be posted? I can’t find the Mumm-Ra with painted red-eyes, all I see is black (of course)…Tough, tough find. I’m all Mumm-ra’d out.:yawn:
I think everybody would be interested in getting mesepher’s loose Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra. But oh wait, I dont want to speak on his behalf but I do remember a $200 price tag when he won it off Ebay.
I’m not 100% certain of this, but I think once the bidding gets so high, the bidders ID’s become private. Could this be what has happened here?
As for the price, that is amazing! :yikes: I have my fingers crossed that it is legit as mine should be worth at least $1000 then. Perhaps the instruction sheet is what pushed up the value?

The price seems outrageous IMO and I have never seen one go that high and believe me when i say that i have been keeping track almost daily of Ebay auctions so its a little strange to me. I mean the highest priced Thundercats I saw on auction was a carded Thunderwings Lion-O last year and that sold for just over $1,000 and Tongue-A-Saurus is nowhere in the same league of rarity as a carded Thunderwings Lion-O. The deluxe figures are the grails of any Thundercats collection, Tongue-a-Saurus is not. So it just seems a bit odd. In regards to identities being hidden it is true for items over $200 but the identities get replaced one by Bidder and then a corresponding number of a bidder (example Bidder 1, Bidder 2, etc) with a private listing not even that shows up matter of fact no identite is shown
I was going to bid on that. I went to work last night and it was at 256, I checked it at work 3 hours later and it was at 612. So I didnt even bother getting a bid in on it. I think the seller bid it up as bidders ids were never shown. Im kind of pisssed by it since it is like the last LJN piece I actually need. Manny Like I said I figured it would go over 500, but the final price blows me away. I should have bought yours when I had the chance when it was on the bay

I don’t know about you, but from what I’ve read here and on the Wikipedia, eBay sounds like a thieves’ paradise - the eBay people being the thieves! I’d never bother with them in a million years, no matter what they have up on the aution block.
