I think what we’re seeing with eBay prices is an anomoly…it’s only a few people that are bidding figures up to these extremely high prices. It seems that a few buyers like wizards-realm, staceycollector1977, and stav5 have very deep pockets and are willing to bid whatever is necessary to win (please don’t get offended…that is not my intention here). I think once these collectors have their figures, eBay prices will come down a significant amount. I do that that Tcats are way up in popularity and that will drive prices up, but not to the levels that they are at now. Would I be willing to sell my MOC Thundercats? Not a chance…But I still think the prices will come down.
MOC Thundercats have reached new heights
MOC Thundercats have reached new heights, although not much of a surprise but here’s a few to entertain the masses on Ebay trends:
Lion O & Snarf http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6058670375&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Deep pockets is now the only way to afford Thundercats ![]()
I was going to put in a bid for $75 on the Grune figure with 20 secs to go…seeing it was at or around $45 at the time…then it shoots up almost $200 more to end. Thanks Wizard
I’m just glad I bought my carded figures when I did. Although I think I read someone else say this earlier, but the auctions are being bid up by the same people all the time. Maybe eventually, when those individuals have had their fussy out with Thundercats prices might come down slightly. I guess time will tell…
As for the Lion-o and Snarf MOC auction, it’s a shame part of that card is missing. If it had been mint, I bet that auction would have made about $300.
Record sale for a Thundercats Item…a MOC Thunderwings Lion O sold for 1075.56. Here’s the link:

I wanted that Thunderwings Lion-o so bad. I even watched the auction close right up to the last few seconds. Couldn’t bid though as I just don’t have that kind of money. Maybe one day though…
I wonder if we will see a Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra appear on Ebay soon? If he did appear, would you go for him Manny?
If i have that kind of money maybe…if not i would sell an AFA figure to come up with the money. I’d much rather have a luna lasher than one of the AFA figures
I noticed prices getting up there for other things, but not the toys til I saw this thread. Wow on the Lion-O with wings O_o Makes me wish I was bigger on toy collecting…with a market like this I’d be selling! ![]()
Me too Purrsia, me too! 8)
Expensive!
I never new these toys were fetching these massive prices. It is crazy. There must be people rubbing hands together out there who own all of these. Do you think these will continue to bring higher and higher prices or will they die down?
I particularly dont think that prices will go down considerably…I have noticed the prices on some figures go down to the previous prices of 6 months ago…even so expect to pay $100+ for a second series Lion-O. The very rare or desirable pieces like 8 backs, Stinger,Bengali,Jaga,Pumyra and several others will be the ones that will command a very high premium
The only thing I see keeping the prices are the figures like the Thunderwings Lion-O and Luna Lasher Mummra(if one shows up). There was one Bengali that finished for the mid-$600 range but after that the following ones were in the $400 range. Prices are always going to vary when things have not shown up in a while. As soon as someone sees something sell for an above average price sellers start listing that item and the price almost always goes back to the average.
I just got done doing some eBay searching and thought it was interesting how some of the items that were won recently by bidders have shown back up for sale. I don’t know if it is some strategy they are using or the items were not in good condition… Some of the auctions should close for a good amount less then what the seller previously paid.
Anyone else notice this??
Pretty much people have been buying items and reselling in hopes for big profit bbut end up loosing. I have noticed a slight decrease in prices
This is why patience pays off!![]()
My mouth dropped when i saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Thundercats-Sealed-LJN-Ben-Gali-MOC-1986-rare-free-SH_W0QQitemZ140004195191QQihZ004QQcategoryZ16476QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem:yikes:
Where was I when this auction was going on
Oh and how about a Pumyra for 50 bucks eh? http://cgi.ebay.com/Thundercats-Sealed-LJN-Pumyra-MOC-1986-rare-free-SH_W0QQitemZ140004197484QQihZ004QQcategoryZ16476QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
That was a good deal on Pumyra even with the card damage problems and yellow bubble. There have been some Pumyras that have closed for more then that loose and complete!!!:eyepopping:
All I have to say is where was I on that Pumyra. That Bengali is a truely a nice piece and a steal at 299. Any of you guys see this auction, I’m upset with myself as I missed bidding by 15 mins

I’m kicking myself now Manny, because I saw that Bengali and really wanted him, but unfortunately can’t afford $300 at this moment. I’m kicking myself because I didn’t think you would be interested as you said recently that you don’t have much money to spend on Thundercats at the moment. Damn it. Should have pm’ed you!
As for Pumyra, somebody got a cool deal, because for that price you could take her off the card for a mint loose complete piece. My loose/complete Pumyra came off that exact same German card and I still have the cardback and blister bubble which I store her in. I bought her back in the days when you could pick the rare 3rd series foreign cards up for $30-$40! :eyepopping:
I was wondering why you didnt get it Neil, that is such a bargain looking at todays prices and look at the quality of that card…thats at least a c-8 IMO. As far as the Pumyra goes…hell i wouldve just bought it sent it to get graded and whatever I get for it on Ebay wouldve been good enough. 50 bucks cant be beat and you can sure get more if it was graded. When i saw that Bengali all i could think of was…“Where’s Neil?” I dont think a deal like that will ever happen again
