What is going on with Ebay Thundercats auctions?

Thats just awesome…scumbags like dr. should’nt be on ebay.Lets hope he dooesnt resurface with some other ID

Well if he does - I’ll be ready for him

and she’s not kidding… she checks all thundercat auctions six times a minute

I do not!

Six times a minute?..I thought i was bad LOL

Did anyone see that MIB Cats Lair he bid on?

I wonder if the seller issued a 2nd chance offer to the next highest bidder?

Probably not…Ive seen the same cats lair (3rd one) sell multiple times. 1st me it was a 0 feedback bidder,2nd one was dr.khlaed and 3rd one geez guess who.

Wow what is going on with Stingers…one just sold for $305 :open_mouth: That is just insane…check it out here: http://cgi.ebay.com/LJN-Thundercats-Ram-Pagers-The-Stinger-Figure-MOC_W0QQitemZ6050029641QQcategoryZ16476QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

He’s turning out to be more desirable now than Bengali. Makes me wonder if it is because he was never a part of any of the episodes.

I love this foreign Bengali. Isn’t he holding that same axe from the catalouge photos?

It’s the Playful Bengali. Cheers for the link, as I might bid on him.

HeHe mannyscollectibles here I come, that Bengali looks good

I just placed my bid since it seems everybody is tipped off to it (bengali). I hope to win this as it will go good with the other 4 playful carded thundercats I have (I’m looking to get a set of playfuls). I have wanted to get one of these carded since I got my loose one cause he looks so awesome (even though he is just a tygra repaint, I think its the silver ax that makes him stand out).
Well best of luck on it .

Another bidding war between discoman and I? Nahh just kidding…I’d like to own that Bengali just because along with Lynx O those two are some cool variations to own. Sad thing is there’s not enough funds and I gotta save my money in case something i rellly need does come up. I do have my belief that the Playful toys will turn out like Top Toys from MOTU.I think all those MOTU collectors know how Top Toys MOTU are hard to come by that being said it may be a good idea to get Playful toys…thats just my opinion

Well I dont know I am almost tempted to sell off my carded Thundercats collection because of the prices on Ebay right now, and start collecting them in a few years. The ones I need still are going for the craziest prices. A few examples are of auctions that ended recently Cheetera and Wilykit $217.50, Slythe $102.50, Pumyra $172.50 (as of right now the auction is still going), Lion-o (rainbow version) $256 (the auction is still running), and old Tygra with Wilykat a whopping $359.89. And these are all figs that I have noticed and either bid on or thought about it. This is crazy I think Im going to have to go easy on Thundercats for a while untill the hype over them dies down, and work on my other lines. These are now almost more expensive or more expensive (depending on which figure) than some original carded Star Wars figs. At this rate I feel my collection wont be completed. What does everybody think. Are the prices going to drop down anytime or continue to soar?

I know what your saying here Matt. My Thundercats collecting as dwindled over the last year or so mainly due to prices. So right now I’ve only bought things that don’t appear very often, if at all!

For example the last carded figures I bought were Tygra (alone on Toy Options card) and Wilykat, also on a UK card (Rainbow Toys)

These would have obviously been released in smaller numbers as the UK market is a lot smaller than that of the USA or Canada which is why they don’t appear that often.

I’m happy though, because I only need a very small amount of the rarer stuff. Actually I only need Bengali on an English card (mine is on a German card)

Apart from Bengali (and the mega, mega rare like Thunderwings Lion-o) I only need mostly the boring (boring as in how prices go) secondary characters such as Captain Shiner, Hachiman, Tuska Warrior and Safari Joe etc…

As for prices coming down, I honestly cannot see it. They may hit a peak (or have already hit that peak) and come down slightly, but I can’t see that drop being significant. They certainly won’t go back down to the prices you could pick them up for 3-4 years ago.

But then this is all based on the information I am aware of at the moment. If a new Thundercats cartoon and toyline were created I’d predict that the vintage toys would hit their peak and stay there for a while (certainly as long as the life of the new toyline)

Just look at prices for some carded vintage He-man. Apparently when the new cartoon and toys came out prices for those shot up. However remember He-man figures were made in much bigger quantities than Thundercats were and so there are a lot less Thundercats to go around compared to He-man.

Honestly if I were you I wouldn’t sell your Thundercats carded collection, unless you don’t plan on collecting them anymore period.

I’ve heard time and time again of people who beat themselves for selling their Thundercats figures.Prices I think too that are hitting their peak and perhaps they have already. Matt my suggestion is dont sell because more than likely you’re gonna resent it unless of course you get so disillusioned with Thundercats or find yourself in a bind. Just recently I have contemplated into selling my AFA 80 Stinger but I dont think it would be too wise. Thundercats is something i enjoy very much and i dont think I can get myself to sell any of my carded figures unless of course I have any doubles of ones i already have. Listen to blackiecats and I dont sell…Thundercats may be a gold mine a few more years from now. Us collectors that have a good size collection now are sitting on one of the hottest collectibles in the market right now

Manny if you are ever selling anything please let me know. I trust your descriptions of your items and would love to get a piece for my collection or my brothers small collection. I would rather deal with someone I can trust then someone on eBay.

If I were tosell I would most definitely conisder to sell first to forum members. Ocasionally I put stuff on Ebay to give everyone a fair chance at any extras I may have. Now a days on Ebay it seems like trusting people is pretty much impossible to do but hey what can one do right? Problem now is that there’s too many new people cashing in on Thundercats now so its hard to tell who’s legit. I couldnt possibly bring myself to rip anyone off because my name is too well known for Thundercats, not only that but reputation is everything in this world. Bottom line is…ripping people off is bad period

Yeah i agree with you manny and blackiecats. I never had any intention of selling them, I love my tcats collection. I was just tossing it around with the possibility that the prices on them would come down in a few years and could then regain all of the old pieces that I had. but no I wont sell them (unless I have doubles which I will weed out eventually) and I only really entertained the thought as I wrote that post (cause of the prices). I would sell off all of my other toys if I had too but not my thundercats. Thanks for the concern and advice from you and blackiecats.

Didnt think either that you would sell…I’ve seen you on Ebay too many times on Thundercats auctions and I can tell that you’re going for a complete set. Unfortunately for those of us that are trying to finish a complete set right now it would probably take several thousands of dollars IMO. I mean a Tygra 8 back and a Cheetara 8 back could easily sell now for probably 600-700 for both. Forget now about the deluxe packages of Luna Lasher Mummra and Thunderwings Lion O…for each of those with prices now you may be looking at $800-1000 easily for each…and a sealed Cat’s Lair will run you for 1000-1500 IMO. Thank goodness I grabbed the carded Thunderwings Lion O from Planetforce back in December for a steal at $150 because the minute one pops up on Ebay it’s not gonna be pretty.Tygra alone on 8 back card has surfaced on Ebay once in almost 2 years and that one was in a beat up C3-C4 card. Prices may go down slightly but I dont see prices going down more than 25% within the next year. That being said a Stinger for example may still run you in the $200 ballpark
