What are you doing right now?

Safe travels and have fun across the Atlantic. If it helps, bring an audiobook and listen to it during the trip.

Have a safe trip, and bring me back a Dalek!

I thought I might aim for Harry Hotspur

A really bad inflight movie might help by putting me to sleep

BTW, I hope your life gets back to normal soon. The ancient spirits of good seem to have had your back that day.

My daughter asked and I told her. I gave her answers about what I am and now she doesn’t want to hear it now.

To her, I’m a monster now. I feel like **** for what I am.

Start where you are. Know better, do better. All things and perceptions change constantly. What you truly are (“a pure spirit having a human experience”) is different from what you perceive yourself to be. The material mind negatively clouds the truth of our souls.

Also, Mercury is retrograde. Everything improves for communications in 3 weeks. Give it some time.

Listening to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Lynxie, i meant to write you earlier after reading the incident with your daughter but i was so engulfed with the robbery incident that occured to me.
I am really sorry about that.

I feel your pain and concern for your daughter’s bullying. It’s a nightmerish experience which can be very hurtfull at a tender age.I had the same problems as a boy on my school, but it escalated to physical harassment on almost a daily basis. The young kids can be very cruel and utter harsh words.I spend 5 years in Elementary being costantly reminded by my classmates that my mother has left me and isn’t with me at home.Which is partly right, since she was away for many years and i spend most of my childhood with mostly my grandparents and other relatives.

I hark back to my early childhood years with anger and sorow, and i blame for that a lot my school environment. Lynxie if you have detected that this is a very regular phenomenon with your kid, you need to step up and take immidiate actions.Your young girl will swallow the pain and since she feels terrorized don’t expect her to make moves to defend herself on her own, you’ll need to block her out from this plight.I strongly suggest you talk very seriously to the School principal and why not to Jordon’s parents. Just don’t leave your fragile girl to pull it off on her own. I am talking from my personal experience, disclosing how i felt an what help i needed.
Also, it’d be good to strenghten your kid’s friendship with some of the classroom’s well-behaved kids.To call her friends at your house at the weekends and make her understand that she belongs into a group where she is accepted and can depend on.
In most cases the hard bullying takes place between boys,i don’t think the ‘tormentors’ pick girls so much and that would be for a short while.Anyway, since yor friend work there you can tell him to keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated.Start by talking to your girl

Oh I have taken care of the situation. I went down to the school in person just to make sure they were aware of the situation. The security guard was absent from work the next day due to being sick, so I’m glad I went in and made sure the problem was resolved.

The kid was brought before the principal and vice principal. He doesn’t go anywhere near my daughter now. The school has a zero-tolerance bully policy. When I was a little girl, I was picked on and beaten up in school all of the time. My torment continued even on my high school graduation day. I grew up poor and have an overbite. Hell, even when I was in college back in 1994-1995, one of my bullies was at the same college and tried to start $hit. In fact, years later, when I entered a diner with an ex-boyfriend, a few of my old bullies was there and harassed me, my ex (notice he’s an ex?) didn’t do $hit to defend me.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have grabbed the nearest object and bashed the guy in the head. I was bullied by boys, not girls. So I’ve been fighting men all of my life. My husband would beat me too, until I finally started fighting back and he learned the painful way that he can be hurt. Bullies only like to fight a safe target, they don’t want to get hurt back.

I grew angry at men many years ago from what happened to me. Girls were cruel too but not physical…well there was that one time but they were picking on my little sister and I had to fight them to protect her.

Tonight my husband is drinking whiskey. We are not fighting or anything like that but I am still nervous. He’s normally a beer drinker but tonight (against my wishes to never have that stuff in the house) he’s drinking it. Last time he drank whiskey, he tried to choke me to death back in 2005. Granted since then he’s had all sorts of treatments and counseling where he doesn’t do that anymore, but I’m still nervous. I can hold my own in a fight, I’ve been fighting men since the third grade and I’m 35 years old. Last time I fought with my husband was about two years ago when he was drunk off of beer and it was then when we discovered he was bipolar when he was acting odd. He hit me in the head with a rain downspout and I had a three inch gash on my scalp. I knew the symptoms of a manic episode with bipolar disorder because I have bipolar disorder, but I see a doctor regularly and live a normal productive life with medication and therapy. I’m a college student that will graduate next year with good grades.

I have learned bullies only go after safe targets, they know better than to attack a co-worker, a boss, a police officer, a judge or any person bigger than them, but they prey on the small and weak.

Most women are supposed to be good a sewing, cooking, arts, crafts, motherhood…I’m good at cooking (I still want to be a chef), arts (I wanted to be an art teacher), I’m a good mother, but what I’m not proud of is I can fist fight like a man. Thus why I have a muscular build for a woman. I hate to say it, but I’ve been in many fights with my husband for nearly 15 years. When I started winning, he finally stopped. He’s 23 years older than me, I’m 35 and I’m in better shape than him now, four years ago was another story. He can start it but I’ll finish it and even if I don’t win, he’s not going to leave the fight unhurt.

I pay all of the bills, I’m a college student that is about to finish my degree. He knows I can easily survive without him. I think that is also another factor why he doesn’t try to fight anymore. I survived a year’s separation from him and I learned so much independence from him. I learned from that one councilor that I was smart and by not going back to college that I was throwing my life away.

Lately my husband and I have been having arguments on almost a daily basis. Nothing major but it lasts about five minutes everyday. So with him drinking whiskey tonight, I’m avoiding him just in case  Why throw wood on the fire if I can prevent a confrontation? So here I am, online at the computer, looking at Thundercat stuff and relaxing. The house is quiet and I want to keep it that way.

What am I doing right now? I am thinking about how inspiring and courageous the members of this forum are.

I am returning after some time away. I lost my job, had to battle with the state to get unemployment, and now am part of the millions of people looking for work. Also trying to get back into school if possible.
Oh yes, and my computer died.

But now have a new computer (thanks to my best friends in the whole world). Have online courses. Have unemployment, have a support team from the state to assist in my job hunting.

Also am playing WoW.

But I am back. And sorry to hear such troubling times have come upon my fellow forum members as well. Stay strong and hang in there guys.

great to see u back even if all hasnt been well

I gave my cat Lynxie catnip…she’s so playful like a kitten

She’s a nip-head LOL

I’ve always thought of catnip as marijuana for cats! LOL!

In seven hours, fishing season begins where I live! I want to get to my favorite spot early before the crowds show up and take it. Fishing season begins at 8AM so I want to get there probably around 7:30AM. I’ve been fishing as far back as I can remember, at age 5, so I’ve been fishing for 30 years.

I hope to get my limit of trout (5) and I’m looking forward to seeing my cat’s reaction if I bring home some fish. Normally when I make fish for dinner, my cat goes nuts and begs at the table like a dog. To my cat, fish is almost like a form of crack to her. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alarm clock set: Check!

Bait was already purchased: Check!

Fishing Rod in good condition, with new line and is ready: Check!

Tackle Box loaded with everything needed: Check!

Coffee Maker was set up: Check!

The possibility that the kids will wake up early on Saturday morning to join me: Highly Doubtful!

The possibility of my kids and husband sleeping in and then waking up around 10AM to watch cartoons, make a mess of my living room with cheerios, coloring books, toys and video game controllers strewn about where I will have to clean it up soon as I get home and hear my kids complain that they didn’t get to go with me in the first place because I couldn’t wake them up…: Most Likely

LOL I used to get up at 6am to watch Saturday Morning cartoons. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am getting ready to take my family back to Rome…

Last time i spend my easter with my Italian family was in 2004… now that my children are
getting older i am taking them to the Vatican!

It will be a very nice experiience and i recommend it to everyone during easter.

I listened to the season-one classic ThunderCats soundtrack last night. It was straight-up epic to hear. ^^

UGH! I am so tempted to play hooky from college today just so I can go fishing. I bought a new minnow bucket with an aerator and I want to use it. Late this afternoon my kids have an appointment so I won’t even bother trying to fish after class today because by the time I get home from class, it will be 1pm and my kid’s appointment is at 3:30pm. Tomorrow isn’t going to be as warm as it is going to be today. It’s going to be around 70 degrees today and tomorrow it will dip to 57.

Oh and what makes it worse is that I bought a new Weber tabletop charcoal kettle grill that is begging me to use it at the park. My kids are off for Easter vacation now and today will be the only warm day of the week, the rest of the week will be cooler.

According to my professor, I never took off from that class before, so would it really hurt to play hooky? I already took my test last week, all that we were going to do today was talk about a new chapter and each test is based on four chapters, and the next test won’t be for a few more weeks…actually, there is only one more test for that class…the final exam in May.

Oh the temptation!

I am so happy I went fishing instead of class! I caught a beautiful 12 inch brown trout and after I wasn’t getting anymore bites, I went to the only bait shop that is close to my area that sells minnows and when I went there to buy two dozen, the owner told me that the spot I was fishing at is going to get restocked tonight at 4pm!

All of the bait shops that were in Allentown have closed up because of hard financial times but where I went to has been in business since 1996 and I used to go there back in 2000. They are the only one still around and I don’t feel like driving for nearly an hour to get minnows at another bait shop.

The minnow bucket I have has an electric air pump and air stone in there so the fish will stay alive for a long time as long as the water remains cold (it’s insulated and I can always put ziplock bags full of ice in there if need be)

So I got my fishie, I found out my favorite spot is being restocked tonight and I got my minnows.

I was going to be the proverbial devil on your shoulder there, Lynxie, and say “Yeah! Go do it!” If your attendance won’t take a big hit, and it’s a class you can afford to skip one day of, why not?

Glad you caught something good, though I’ve always been a salmon man myself! (Grilled salmon, cooked just right, tastes almost like a good steak! Yummy!)

As for me, I’m right in the middle of Mass Effect 2. So far I’ve recruited Mordin, Grunt, Tali, Zaeed, Kasumi, and Jack. Done loyalty quests for same. About to recruit Thane now…

Also, just got the Devil May Cry HD Collection for my PS3. Very cool!

Also managed to exchange my copy of Ninja Gaiden 3 for a good game: Uncharted 3. I had bought NG3 a couple weeks ago, but something made me not want to take it out of the shrink wrap and open it right away. Then later I saw and heard the reviews, and was glad I didn’t! The gods of gaming must have been smiling on me that day! Shame about that, though; the NG games had always been good up until now.

I’m enjoying my day off.
