My doctor hasn’t confirmed it, but I believe I have type II diabetes. Fortunately, he has me on Metformin, but I think I may eventually have to take insulin as well.

Necessarily i returned to stay back to my parents for a few day,even though i am knackered maybe due to the stress i went through, i can’t go to sleep now.
Thankfully, the police did an excellent and brave operation and most likely the bandits will be caught, at least this is what i’ve been told.It was crucial the moment i stepped in the building and they probably didn’t understand i run away to bring the police force, i remember driving like crazy and for my good luck i did the smart move to park the car right across the house, so i managed to slip away instantly.
They didn’t touch the Thundercats vintage i had placed inside the glass cabinet. Didn’;t even open it. Itsn’t so much the plenty of money i have spent for them but the immense sentimental value they have for me, which worth’s millions.they could take or break thr AFA80 Lion-O RedW/Batery, afa90 Lion-O , AFA85 rAINBOW lION-O AND MY 8-BACK oRANGE HAIR. I don’t want to dream of such a disaster…
We in the United States have heard of Greece’s financial troubles. It comes as no surprise that criminals would take advantage of it, though I think you’re the first one to mention an upswing in your country’s crime rate. But it’s not just in Greece alone; escalating crime (organized and otherwise) is a global problem in the wake of the financial crisis. Unfortunately, I think you won’t get your stuff back, as what they took can be fenced very fast…which is probably one of main reasons they didn’t take your ThunderCat toys. They would have seen them as valueless as compared to your other stuff, for which they can get good money. And the fact that these guys had guns makes me wonder if drugs are involved somehow.
IWhen it comes to health it’s the most important thing above all else. I know it’s hard, a very good friend of mine is also diabetic,provided that you take the right medicine and follow the right program you can control it and show no signs of deterioration. Try to be in close touch with your doctor, and everything will be fine,at the beginning you might feel a bit bad but you will be fine after a while. Don’t let it get you down.
There used to be a time where buglers pulled out a tool just to open a closed door, now the pull out a knife to kill you without remorse or hesitation

I believe you because Slithor and I were woken up in the middle of the night because the apartment above us was on fire. Everyone had to be relocated to a local motel for the night and when I tried to sleep, I couldn’t stop shaking. I’m glad your Thundercats figures were spared and you will be our prayers tonight.

Lord Slithor - how was the movie?
Lordore - wow, I’m so sorry! That is so horrible! Could you maybe move somewhere safer? I feel really bad for you.

John Carter was awesome!
I can’t stress this enough for everyone here, but you really need to see this movie! Especially if you love Thundercats! Because really, the John Carter books are pretty much where TCats came from. Well, that and Lord of the Rings too. But John Carter predates LOTR, Star Wars and all that.
The movie is a loose adaptation of the first book in the series, A Princess of Mars. Speaking as someone who’s been a fan of this character and this series since I was 13, I didn’t mind the changes they made. What was important to me was that they got all the characters right, that they set it in the right time period, and that a lot of the key moments from the book are in there. And they nailed all of that. It’s everything I could have asked for: it’s epic and sweeping with excellent special effects, a sexy leading lady and top notch action scenes.
So yeah, see this movie as soon as possible. It deserves to have a great opening weekend and get sequels made of the other books. If you love Science Fiction and Fantasy in any way, shape or form, you’re doing yourself a favor by seeing this.
Lordore- That was terrible to hear what happened! I knew Greece was going to hell in a handbasket, but the things you’ve told us are things that the American news media isn’t telling us…not even NPR! Sounds like the whole country is devolving into anarchy. Hope you can get out as soon as you can. (And glad your TCats stuff want’s stolen. Obviously they weren’t fans.)
For clarification, the fire Ocelli mentioned occurred 15 years ago. But yeah, at the time it happened I remember we were both pretty shaken-up about it.
Catspat- Sad to hear about the diabetes. But the good news at least is that it’s something that’s manageable. Ocelli and I once had a friend who had it. Unfortunately she didn’t listen to what her doctors told her to do and she only got worse. So as long as you just do what they recommend, which shouldn’t be too hard, I think you’ll be fine.

Thanks! I never really noticed that his eyes changed color. They are a very bright yellow now. He has a few names that I’ve given him but Romeo seems to suit him best. He purrs a lot.

The last days have been a turmoil for me, i’ve been in and out police stations.Testifying and informing the special agencies of the incidents that took place.The last 4 years i had been staying in this apartment which is located at the outskirts of Athens, it’s been build on a mountain side.The whole building is comprised of 6 apartments, 3 below and 3 above.Next to that is a 2 story house.Both complex are in the same area and the surrounding is trees, bushes and mother nature, generally.My apartment as well as the rest ones had been violently attacked.
I was aware of the remoteness of the place when i decided to stay there along with my girlfriend 4 years ago, but i put down the pros and cons, and taking into account that i grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods in the center of Athens my final decision was to opt for the wild beauty of a distant pace in the countryside.I never regretted this option,even now.I felt so good and calm there.
The moment i arrived the burglars were already in,hence the loud noises and clatter, but they were in the upper floor.Actually, when i first entered the main entrance door with my car, something looked fishy, the large glass window of the second floor hall was open and the small door separating our edifice from the 2-story house i mentioned above was also half open.It’s very important to stress here that there is absence of light in the whole area and in the dark is very difficult to discern the slightest movement.
Thankfully, my senses were honed during these last 4 years living close to the wilderness of nature and the moment i discerned that something wasn’t right i knew were to look and how to protect myself. Probably that saved me from the worst case scenario, which wasn’t unlikely at all.According to the police it was foolish of me to try enter the building, when i saw one door broken down, it was clear that a break in was in progress.I was lucky that at this time the thieves were on the upper floor.I didn’t open my apartment’s door,i couldn’t possibly know of the number of the intruders and i was already on the wolf’s mouth. I shut and locked the main glass entrance door,so they couldn’t follow me and prevent them from escaping easily. Of course all these happened in a short period of time. Prior to that i had done the right move to park my car not in the front yard but across the street so that i could hurry outside and leave with the car at once.I don’t remember ever driving so fast my car in the past, i went to the nearest police station which wasn’t so far away.If i waited to call them then valuable time would be lost.I burst in and started yelling at the police to run for the house.By the time the special force units arrived most of the muggers had escaped but they caught one or two jumping the fence,I was at the house front along with an officer who staid behind to protect me,I heard gunshots and many shouts.Afterwards, the ‘DIAS’ team(special unit) chased them on their bike.They hauled in some suspects.
They found 3 of them while attempting to change one car.Around 4 am i went to the detention cells to verify the items they had stolen.I saw the 3 burglars,they were all immigrants and one of them was really dangerous, later the cops told me that this guy had committed many felonies, was alcoholic and could go as far as murder if we were face to face back in the house.You know, this man’s countenance was very terrifying, i felt my blood chill when i l saw him behind the bars.A ruthless kind of guy.
I know the situation has gone out of hand, it’s becoming a global problem,they found knives baseball bats and a chainsaw at the thieves possession..I don’t know man,I am very concerned it’s getting pretty bad..I see everyday people scavenging for food, when someone is desperate he can go to any lengths.

They would have done one hell of a haul!!they just won’t need to ‘pay a visit’ to the rest rooms and apartments.Thankfully, they didn;t touch,scratch or opened my thunderctas.It is redundant to say how afraid i was of the scenario,of me opening my house and facing the abominable sight of the two Detolf’s broken down, the PCS Lion-O and Mumm-ra destroyed and the graded AFA Lion-O ruined forever.The point is that they might see them as valueless pieces but if they flew into a rage during their invasion they could start smashing everything.
Owing to the rapid and successful operation of the police, as well as my speedy reaction to call them at the crime scene instantly they managed to caught the muggers and save the items.The fan is that afterwards when i went to the police department to verify the items, one of them was wearing my O’NEIL Jacket inside the cell and still won’t commit his theft!! My SONY camera which was found inside their car had recent photos of my Christmas vacation and other personal pics which clearly stated it was mine, however at the interrogation process they still won’t admit their doing!!

the truth is that i took my chances and risked living in this place. I won’t regret it because believe it or not i gained a lot on a personal level.My friends and family were jokingly telling me: where you going man?? up in the BatCave-Cat’s lair again. But even though on the outside it was kind of scary,especially during winter, on the inside i had made it very sweet and pleasant to stay.Also, this house was close to the job i had before i joined the army.
Well, i’ve started packing things and making preparations to move on to another place, i have to see it over the next days.Now i am really tired and this weekend was so nightmarish.

Of course the thieves won’t admit they took anything even if they’ve been caught red-handed with the items they stole, like these guys obviously were. They don’t want to go to prison, but it’s where they’re going. I don’t know about the prison system in Greece, but it can’t be pleasant. :sneaky:

Yeah, kittens start out with blue eyes that change color as they get older unless they’re Siamese, then the eyes stay blue. Romeo sounds like the perfect Halloween cat: Black with yellow eyes. It sounds like he may be part Bombay, as they have copper-colored eyes.
Cats can be sexually mature at six months of age, so I hope you got him neutered. If not, he’ll be yowling and spraying the area with urine during the mating season. You definitely wouldn’t want that. :eek:
I see the picture of the cast of “MASH”. I didn’t know you like that show. I watched it a lot back in the 1970s, I enjoyed it immensely.

He probably was too skinny in that picture. The shelter sent me home with a bag of kitten food that they fed him and he didn’t eat much of it which I didn’t really notice until one day when I picked him up and realized he was all skin and bones. So I went out and bought him Kitten Chow instead and that fattened him up pretty fast. 
So much for Healthy kitten food. 
He is neutered, so no problems there!
I saw MASH on tv years ago and it didn’t look interesting, but I found it just recently on tv again (I guess because this year marks the 40th anniversary of it’s first season) and quickly fell in love with it. It has such a great blend of humor and drama and most comedies today don’t have me laughing out loud, this one had me laughing out loud in almost every episode. Very smart and witty.
Right now my body is angry at me for waking up this morning an hour earlier than it thought I should wake it. Darned daylight savings.

The police pursued them and finally caught 3 of them while inside their car. But from what i’ve been learning, they weren’t just 3 thieves, judging by the extent of the crime and the events they must had been at least five.I remember back in Thursday night, when the incident took place, the police chased one guy who leaped the fence and started running towards the wood.After the gunshots everything happened pretty fast.
When they called me to the police department to verify my belongings, among the items was a Sony DIGITAL CAMERA. Fortunately, i had saved pictures from my Christmas vacation, from the army and a few other with my family and girlfriend, so it was 100% that they had breached the house and stolen my properties. If i had erased the pictures then indeed they could say it was theirs.
The fan part is that i has also saved many shots from my Thundercats collection, and that day i happened to wear a Tshirt with the Thundercats symbol, so when i step into the office the policeman says right away:‘Oh the camera is certainly yours! i see the thundercats!!’, apparently he had checked the camera’s memory stick and when he saW me with the Thundercats t-shirt came to the reasonable conclusion!!
Too bad i wasn’t in the mood for jokes.
Thanks a lot man, it’s beem kind of rough the last 5 days. I had to almost evacuate the house, i packed most of my things, either because i have to ‘disinfect’ them or because it’s not very safe to stay there any more. I was already in jeopardy living there.
I don’t want o sound ghastly but the police told me i endangered too much by opening the door and walking into the building.One of them, the ruthless guy, had been convicted in the past, was deported back to his country Albany and had returned to Greece under a fake name. They detected high levels of alcohol in his blood, according to the police’s investigation was a heavy drunkard and was capable of doing the unthinkable…if he had caught me in front of him…
Anyway,it was a narrow escape, i don’t want to think of the rest..
No need to worry man, the aeroplanes are statistically the safest transfer mean. Thousands flights are taking place every day and it’s a routine.Just enjoy the flight, everything gonna be alright.
