Yes, Bella is quite silky. I think she is the softest cat I ever had. Silky would be a great name for her, but that has way too much baggage;) The name she came with suits her just fine. She is excpetionally sweet and talks quite a bit.

UPDATE: Got back from seeing Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Towards the end, we felt some really violent shaking coming up from the floor. We came home later to find out we just had an earthquake! And all that time, I thought someone behind us just had really bad restless leg syndrome!:eek:
Just experienced my first Earthquake event. A 5.8 from about 60 miles away.
Today is my and my husband Coldwin’s 8th wedding anniversary. Yay! We actually met here in the Thundercats fandom back in the late '90s.
Apparently that earthquake was felt here in WV, but we were out in the car when it happened so we didn’t feel a thing. When we got in the house, though, we were told that it sounded like a giant was running on the roof and the whole place shook.
Some people here didn’t notice it at all. I heard the roof shake, but people had been up there earlier fixing stuff. Others said it sounded like a tornado.

I was also out driving in Arlington, but I noticed people fleeing the subway system so I thought there might have been a bomb scare. When I got home I had all these messages from people wondering if I were alive and ok. I heard on the radio there had been an earthquake. Only casualty was a glass unicorn, so cue Tennessee Williams.

I was laying down on my bed resting when I felt my bed shake. Atfirst I thought it was my cat leaping onto my bed or one of my kids but when I went online a few minutes later, I see the breaking news on my homepage.

I’ll be honest, and you know this well, that Coldy and I didn’t get along back in the day. But now? Believe it or not, I really have grown to genuinely like him. I really do think he’s a good guy, and I’ve been really enjoying what back-and-forths here we’ve had. And I hope we have more good discussions. So again, congratulations to you both!

A tornado? Seriously? Do they know what a tornado sounds like? It sounds like a freight train. I’ve never experienced and earthquake. I’m quite content with that. I’ve also never experienced being in a tornado, but I do live in tornado alley and have seen devastation done by several in my lifetime.
Ugh, I really don’t feel that great.

LOL my first thought was “how did the theater rig the floor to vibrate like that?” Then when I found out the 'quake was in the Virginia area, I called my mom who lives in Williamsburg. Thankfully everyone there is fine.

Is contemplating how relationships with people you know face to face can be ruined by interactions online. This girl started hanging out with my circle of friends and was as nice as could be but got on Facebook and started writing hateful comments to and about everybody, and she couldn’t figure out why everyone started keeping their distance from her after that. And trying to explain it would only make her more angry. Ah well.
Ironically, I’m the total the opposite. On my facebook, I’m opened up and honest about myself. Sure, some of the stuff I post isn’t for everyone but I usually post about myself. My real friends know I am not always politically correct. I do reply to my friend’s wall post but I’m well-behaved when I do…for individual friends. I have made an ass out of myself on a few Tcat groups…well one in particular but things worked out. I’m still shocked they allowed me to be a member after I thought my membership was gone and I would have to apply again.
There are times when someone leaves my friends group, but I don’t know who they are, I usually accept fellow Tcat fans but my theory is this…if you leave and I don’t know your name or can’t remember you, you never were a real friend

On the internet/Facebook topic… it’s amazing what some people think is okay to post on Facebook. Back when I was working, I never would’ve friended my co-workers or, worse, my boss. But some people will add them to their pages, and then goof off at work on Facebook, or post work rants. Then they wonder why it causes them problems at work!
Sometimes I think it might be a good idea to make a separate FB account for fandom-related things anyway, since I get all sorts of people I hardly know wanting to friend me because we share a fandom interest.
And you really don’t know who’s looking. For instance, I have some roleplay accounts in other fandoms, and one character I play seems to draw the attention of a lot of the younger teen crowd. It kind of scares me how many of them post RL information on FB and share it with a cartoon character. I mean, I know I’m harmless, but if I was their parent, I’d be like, “Do you even know who’s playing this character? How do you know it’s not some creepy weirdo?”
well for me im honest as i can be in person and thru internet messanger systems and forums i use cause people can find out what kind of person who you can be. i choose to be good just like my username for those who know who he is thats the type of personality i have
Just won’t do Facebook. Too much trouble and lack of privacy. I’ll Tweet and I have my own domains. That should be enough for me.

I just got done enjoying lunch and I still have a half hour before my hotel/restaurant/travel law class.
I love this laptop!!! There is just so much freedom with it. I’m not restricted to my desk.
Speaking of teenagers online, I have friends on Facebook who set their kids up with accounts who are under 13. They fudge on their kids birthdates but I’ve seen it become a status symbol in families. Big brother or sister has an account so the little ones want their own too. I think it unwise. Even the teens seem pretty unguarded in what they put online.
I am feeling better today. Ready to go get some lunch.

I was originally going to get a desktop so I wouldn’t have to borrow Slithor’s. When I couldn’t find a good place to set up another desk in our condo unit, I went with this laptop and I love the freedom.
