Wave 4 Info?

You’re right about Turmagar. I’m surprised that he wasn’t released in the LJN line. I remember thinking that the Tuska warrior was him at first but I was very young at the time. While I’m not overly fussed on this particular character for an action figure, I do think it makes more sense for him to be released than one of his army, at least at first. It may not be a fair comparison but it makes me think what if they had released a Lizard guard and not Slithe? Doesn’t bare thinking about. I never had the LJN Tuska warrior, my cousin did but it never interested me as an action figure but oddly enough, I liked Turmagar and the Tuskas in the show. I would always tend to go for the characters that excited me the most or the ones that looked the coolest when it came to action figures. Apart from the cats, it would often be bad guys but I also really liked the character designs for Hachiman and Snowman. As for LJN villains, I think Safari Joe and Captain Shiner are quite popular. I enjoyed them in the show but for bad guy action figures in a franchise like Thundercats, I always preferred monsters. I’m the same with MOTU and the four horsemen seem to be really good at doing monsters. On the flip side, when it comes to things like DC and Marvel, I prefer the human characters. I think that’s because those universes are often set in our world or something close to it. Even my favourite TMNT villain is human (Shredder) but again, despite all the mutant characters, that is set in a world similar to ours. MOTU and Thundercats remind me of a Lord Of The Rings type universe where the monsters are always more exciting.

I don’t know where Mark M’s comment went but that sounds cool. I guess the guy who posted the pics must have been a Mongor fan too.

I deleted it since it wasn’t really about the future figures. Glad you thought it was cool. I am sure an Ultimate Mongor would look awesome in similar pictures.

I think so too. Super7 could potentially make him quite big. To me, he’s like a Mumm-Ra The Ever-Living type character but obviously not as prolific or iconic. It’s a shame he didn’t reappear after that one episode. He and Grune were my favourite villains along with Mumm-Ra, that’s my top three. I always liked the mutants but to me, they were bunglers who didn’t carry as much threat.[/QUOTE]

Pumm-Ra Thundercats Wave4 Test shot and first factory fabric sample (not the correct colors) with wire so you can drape the fabric as you like. We still have some work to do, but it is looking good

All of a sudden he thinks he’s Sssqueeze from MOTU’s Snakemen.

We won’t get this wave until next year. I was hoping to get it before the end of the year, which is not unreasonable, but I know that it won’t happen.

They fixed the huge thigh gap on lynx-o, it looks pretty darn good. It appears to me that it’s not his arms that are long, but legs are stubby. His shoulders and hands look to be the same as pumm-ra’s, but his legs are substantially shorter. I think i’ll keep my preorders, though. This line will be notable in toy history for being the worst executed toy line post-2000AD.

If things carry on this way, Thundercats fans are going to start taking shit personally as it’s starting to feel like there is a very powerful person out there who hates this franchise with a passion. It often appears as though someone is actively trying to sabotage it. While that all seems highly unlikely and makes zero sense, fans need a break from all the misfortune that seems to come with being a Thundercats fan. It’s like we have to wait until we’re old and covered in cobwebs before we can get what we want from the franchise.

wave 4 are only test shots the factory sends super7. Super 7 then says ok this needs to be corrected here and then the factory makes the corrections.
Four Horsemen get test shots of Mythic Legions figures too and they mark what needs correcting for the factory to fix. These are not the final wave 4 figures.

Pity that didn’t happen with wave 2. We should do a poll on who is the ultimate Thundercats villain. My vote goes to Mattel. It’s no surprise that we’ve seen their foul, decaying hand in this. Bandai, Cartoon Network and Victor Courtright aren’t far behind. That has to be the top 4, sorry Mumm-Ra.

Yeah, there seems to be a bit of proportion issue generally with many of the sculpts. The legs are just a bit too short and it makes everything feel squat to a degree. I think the figures still look cool but yeah that is a noticeable, unfortunate problem.

This is true. What I don’t get is that we can get longer legs for Jackalman but not for Lion-O, who is actually one of the tallest characters in the 80’s show. As I recall, he was taller than Jackalman.

Yeah, it’s too bad. These are supposed to be “Ultimates”, spot on proportions would have been nice. Pains me to say, I have never really loved the Mattel or Super7 Lion-O sculpt/figures. I still feel we have yet to have seen the truly best Lion-O figure possible. These companies can do better. I know as Thundercats fans we ought to be thankful to have any new, high quality product, and I am but I still can’t help but nitpick a few things here and there.

I would have liked to have Panthro’s feet in Linx-O, ninja feet as in the animation and the model sheet, Super7 didn’t take the advice.
Pumm-Ra’s forearms are still wrong, they are from a Conan figure.

Yes, Lion-O and Jackalman were in the same wave. If they’re making Jackalman that tall, then the Lion-O figure needs to be taller than what it is. If Lion-O has to be the same height as He-Man from MOTUC then Jackalman has to be the same height as the MOTUC Beastman.

Yes, it’s not looking good for us at the moment.

As much as I appreciate Super7 stepping up and getting these classic licenses and bringing them back to life, it becomes more and more clear that there are other companies out there that would probably handle things better. For the prices Super7 is asking for these figures, they really should be top notch crowd pleasers.
