Wave 3 Discussion

At least it is still on the table! This wasn’t included in the interview but I told Brian I’m one of those who usually would buy a figure for each of the heads if they make alternate characters; with the purpose of finding out if I should get yet another Jaga. So he teased and said it will come with 17 heads. Guess I gotta sell a some stuff to get 17 Jagas :roflmao:roflmao:roflmao

It has the helmeted, unhelmeted and old man Jaga head - so 3 in total. Young Jaga was discussed but ultimately not included.

Thanks for the interview, great job Sebastiaan.

Most of my doubts about the wave 3 were clarified, Jaga will include both cape options I’m glad it was considered, Cracker’s belt will be a separate piece and Slithe will have his extra pair of hands, excellent. I never thought you would ask about the Cheetara bracelets, very well, perhaps for me it was a better option that they weren’t in the mold, sometimes it’s difficult for the paint to be perfect in those details, in a loose piece could have a nice touch.

Regarding the weapons, I would have liked that all the cats weapons had a metallic shades, I liked the staff in gold, perhaps we could request it for a w-pack in the future.

I was also concerned about Pumyra, the mold shown wasn’t consistent with the new Cheetara body structure, I’m very happy that they have decided to update it.

One of the biggest concerns that I still have is about Lion-O, the Mattel figure proportions were never to my liking and the execution that some pieces had either, they couldn’t correctly replicate the prototype, I think there were problems in the production. I would like to know if Super7 could finally correct them.

But it is interesting, perhaps it will be released in a completely new figure.

Is it silly that I’m most excited by the news about the logo? I’ve always disliked the Classics version of the logo and assumed it was part of the licensing requirement. Seeing the vintage logo officially revived makes me so fucking happy.

I like Brian overall great attitude on giving the fans of the toys and the show what they want. I predict in the next wave Monkian…

I was excited to see it too! Seemed like the longest time licensees just used the art kit WB provided them and didn’t dig deeper.

The interview was a fun one to read for sure. I’m grateful to Super7 for using the original logo. Now if only potential future licensees for the ThunderCats brand would follow suit…

Fantastic Interview. Brian really cares about Completing the Core teams along with delving deep into character selection to make characters who never had an action figure.
Looking forward to wave fours reveal just before August :wilykat:wilykit:monkian:snarf

A thundertank would be awesome, I definitely want one; however I think if I had to choose between a Thundertank and a cat’s lair I would definitely pick the cats lair especially if we only get 1 large item with this series.

I don’t know. A Cats’ Lair would be mammoth, and it could obviously never be to scale. I prefer the idea of large vehicles that are to scale and could fit the whole team—a ThunderTank and a ThunderStrike, for instance. By Jaga, what I would do for a ThunderStrike…

I agree with you, others companies have made vehicles for 6 ‘’ figures at a perfect scale, the Thundertank will be absolutely incredible if its real proportions are respected. I think that jumping directly from SM to another giant playset is very hasty.

Lol why do I always find myself the odd man out? Thinking on this, I’m even more certain I’d prefer a thundertank for the reaction figs.

Excellent interview and excellent news on the cape! Also thanks for asking about the vintage toy Mumm-Ra sword and dagger. Great to hear S7 are listening to our requests on these sort of things.
Great that they’ve reversed the colors on Panthro’s spinning nunchuck’s as it make it that bit more different from the Mattel version and those of us that have both will have both options.

Absolutely a great decision! I already know how I’ll be displaying it.

Me too I’m fed up of seeing classic, it’s not Thundercats Classic, it’s just Thundercats. Everytime the logo is re-drawn it looks rubbish too.

Cool to get some clarification on what’s going on. The new packaging looks much better, basically the same as my mockup with the character name added to the bottom with a red band. I hope they change the cats head logo on the slip cover so it’s jsut standard and not the updated one they had before. So odd they’re going with an old man Jaga head, 15 seconds from the first episode. They miss Slithe’s warp gas but they come up with a slightly older old man Jaga’s beard needs a trim head. Are they going to do a box with just helmet cape and cuffs for a recently deceased Jaga variant?

This statement should be their mantra for every one of their figures:

BF: I mean, Captain Cracker is 100% unique. Slithe is 100% unique. When it makes sense and relates to the character, yes, we certainly will make them to match the height and size, etc.

If they did this for Lion-O so he had proper proportions it would have put the line over the top. Slithe looks amazing.

I agree. Still baffled it was chosen over the young head. And i’m sure the young head idea was nixed by the inclusion of the plastic cape. If you wanted to do “Deathbed” Jaga look his body should be old and frail too. And shouldn’t the sleeping sword’s eye be painted brown? I’m sure its too late to do that with Lion-O (and I guess you could always say it’s in the “warning” mode). They should also at some point sculpt a Sword Of Omens in the “Sight Beyond Sight” state - Dagger with the upturned hilt.

@Sebastiaan , I left a comment for Super7 on instagram about the “Eye” color. Since you have a great relationship/line of communication with Brian could you mention it next time you have a chat :)?

Sure thing, please send me a DM and we can talk about it for the next interview.
